Wish you mentioned Exo-Force since light bricks were important to some sets and they were still using different designs back then.

The LEGO Ideas Lighthouse does not use a light brick; it uses a Powered Up battery box, a Powered Up motor, and a pair of Powered Up headlights--one of which goes up the tower, and the other goes into the keeper's house stove.
@TheEmeraldWeirdoАй бұрын
I was wondering about that. That light was WAY too bright to be a light brick. It was also clearly white light, when light bricks only come in red and yellow. That being said, I really hope LEGO releases more colors of light brick in the future. It'd really add some more versatility to the piece.

I believe the 2017 Minecraft Mountain cave deserves a shoutout, first for being the only set from this theme to include a light brick, but also because the light brick was part of a movable assembly that could be “plugged” in multiple locations in the build in clever spaces

It would be cool to see light bricks in more original sets rather than mainly licensed or creator sets, also more colours other than just red and yellow. Light up minifigures would be cool too. For example a Hatsune Miku set featuring a translucent minifig of Miku and a white light brick on the stage floor.

The Lego DeLorean from 2022 was the first kit when I started to get back into Lego, and I was pleased to find a light brick used to illuminate the flux capacitor. Far from the most revolutionary use, but the really are popping up all over the place now.

I’ve got an idea for how they could work one into a Star Wars set. Build a table with a light brick in the middle, pointed upwards. Stick a micro figure molded in transparent blue over the light, and you’ve got one of those holographic communication devices from the prequels. It could be used on the bridge of a big ship or in some sort of command center.

I really do admire your effort for this video. Nevertheless I like to pimp my Lego sets with lighting by Briksmax and Lightailing. The battery box shown at 1:14 (which I never saw before) has not been the first part of this kind by Lego. The first battery box is actually displayed in your video at the top left picture at 0:55. It contained three baby cells providing 4,5 V. I have grown up in the 1970s with this box and the light bricks, I remember even the brochure in your video, but I had as well two of the light bricks as they had been developed in 1958. To swap worn batteries you had to loosen a screw, its lever could turn power on forward and reverse because there had been already a Lego motor for 4,5 V. This previous battery box is very similar to the one at 1:35 in your video, even the blue colour matches, while I got a black version as a child. But its recepticles had been close together and not a centimeter apart like the one in your video as Lego made matching plugs with two contacts.

in the Porsche 42176 it doesnt actually use any "light bricks". this set comes with a new "technic hub" that has lights on it. it uses channeled fiber optics to channel the light from the hub to the lit areas. the hub is pretty interesting including 2 mototrs within it and these light ports, but it's considered a pretty big downgrade as they have no ports for technic powered up accessories making uses pretty limited
