Hot take: System fans are a bit too harsh on the old constraction lines. I see a lot of system focused people completely dismiss Bionicle and Hero Factory and while I dont think people _need_ to like the sets or lines I do think its often a bit too much. Highly recommend system fans pick up a bionicle 2001-2003 set if for no other reason that to appreciate why these toys where so ubiquious and ended up with such a choke hold on a generation

Lego should release more airplane sets. People that like cars are spoiled for choice with Speed Champions but if you like airplanes and helicopters you're lucky to get more than a token set or two in the City theme

Play sets should focus on size and not mass. I think those who buy sets for play would prefer something large rather then something detailed

Lego needs to stop making so many huge expensive sets, there should only be a few a year, or one a theme There should be more cheaper affordable sets I agree with GWP problem and retiring sets too quickly

Space Police and Power Miners are themes I wish I collected Lego city in the past few years has improvedz especially this year, and especially summer sets

So... a lot of these seem to be window assemblies. Window assemblies that, I might add, wouldn't be necessary if people didn't complain so much about "large, specialized elements" that LEGO basically monkey's pawed your demand and stopped making even the most generic of "specialized" elements, like the large window pieces that used to be common in sets like these. Same goes with the stickers - people complained about prints making bricks "impossible to use in MOCs", now you get to apply tons of decals.

Ya know. A lot of these secrets are really cute. I never thought about it before, but I really found them all so funny or adorable.

Hot take 1: Collectible display sets are super boring. "It looks like a thing" is not a play feature. Hot take 2: The over-use of Technic pieces in Lego sets severely decreases their value in terms of creativity and imagination, because Technic pieces are more advanced and specific for their purposes. If you want this Star Wars ship or Chima or Ninjago set, so you can set it on the shelf and dust it sometimes, it's fine. If you want to build and play, like a child, Technic parts are a big ask. Hot take 3: Lego cities that are all or mostly just sets and modular buildings (and "rebrickable" models) are also pretty boring. Let me guess, your city has the downtown, where you've got all the Modular Buildings, the three big Marvel buildings, Ghostbusters HQ, the Simpsons buildings, and a few alternate builds of Modulars here and there. Then you've got the harbor, where you've put that lighthouse, and then lined up all your boats. And on the other side is the suburb, where there's four Creator theme houses, at the back there's the Ninjago City sets, and over here is a big amusement park with all the big ride sets. But what did *you* make? Hot take 4: Lego city displays with roads and railways are just elaborate display set ups for car and train sets. PS: if you want to just collect Lego as display objects, that's fine, you can do that. Hot takes are my opinions.
