In the UK back in the 90s most home busts were because the HID lights were melting the snow on the roof of the homes during the winter. So the home with a clean roof had a grow in the attic.

Small town Midwest US 2004ish we a had a big grow in the basement. 2 blocks down house raided because of the clean roof right after a blizzard. It was the high school math teacher. Lived alone and had the whole house filled kitchen and all. Poor guy prob got 10 years. We were 18 and homies mom was dating the only cop in town so we felt untouchable lol. Barely made it out free and alive now I grow legal and laugh that my roof melts before everyone else 😂

Having 280-watts with the EVO3 in my 2x4 is amazing, man they've come a long way, we used to have three 1200-watt HPS in a 10x12 room in 2012...real hot. LED's are unreal now, they win in so many areas.

Think about this: some folks in temperate climates now need small space heaters in the tent because the LED lights don't throw off enough heat to keep the plants warm lol if that's not progress in light tech idk what is

First grow I helped with over a decade ago was under hps in a fake room built into a basement. 6 years ago i helped a homie do a few runs under some blurples in another hidden room in a basement. My states legal now and I feel spoiled with my 720w bar light in a 4x4 in my room with no worries and no problems. Times have changed.

Great topic guys I have been only growing near 4yr and almost every light you have mentioned I've tried. I learned the hard way but now I can say that the most important thing is lighting. Can I ask you to discuss when should you start the countdown for the beginning of flower. Is it from the day you switch to 12/12 or when you see the first signs of pistols preflower as I have always waited for the first sign of pistols rather than the day of 12/12.Thanks guys stay lifted peace out from Scotland 🦍🌱🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

I Had 6" parabolic reflectors with a Whirliegig Sun Circle moving 2 1000 watt lights in a circle and a sun Trac moving 1 light back and forth 6' . Light movers work with LED's now too getting more coverage with plants getting enough DLI with these bar light now! Super way to get more for your money! ! light in a 5 x 10 but rooms are better. My 1st LED's were COB's

Perhaps some form of fiber optic lighting? 360 lighting? Filtered lasers? Sulfur bulbs? Plasma bulbs? Gas discharge tube lighting on a grander scale? Lighting is surprisingly not advancing as quickly as one might hope. A stoner needs to invent the next wave of lights. I would like to see a light capable of regulating ideal light intensity and temp across the canopy using sensors and quantum. A tent like space that adapted to the plant throughout the grow would be nice too.

Story time. I started growing back in 91. Buddy and I took 5 or 6 hps fixtures from the local super market who were throwing them away . They were replacing them all with new , remodeled the entire store. Anyways, they were all 1000 watt high pressure sodiums with the orange redish hue. We had to rewire them all and insert with 110 plug ins grounded. I dont recommenddoing any of this btw. Not recommended. And we ran 1 of those in an upstairs closet in my house at the time. My buddy managed to get hold of a few seeds of Northern Lights from a cali grower. This was when it was the very best and famous strain first come out. We grew the 3 that popped and when bloom time came around , it was usually me that would have to manually go and unplug the light. Every night at 8 oclock. Lol 8 because it was easy to remember. But yeah every night for I think for like 70 some days. I was maybe 18 yrs old. Lol that was my introduction to growing indoors, illegal hahaha. Been doing ut ever since. Btw leds were a game changer. Alot of ,I believe, toadys growers ,, wouldn't be growing if wasnt for leds. That was always a big deterrent. Peace😂

I bought my light first and it was a mars-hydro tsl2000 but then I got my A.C. Infinity stuff, the controller, and the inline and clip-on fans but then I had to get the aci adapter for my light to hook up to the controller and I am so grateful for that. Next I need to get an ac tent because my controller juat hangs there right now.😂 But I'm getting there.

How much that Ac Infinity package cost you bro? I'm trying to do the same thing as you and can only purchase things when I got the extra loot and it's hard to get fully started all at once with the lights, inline fans/exhaust, soil, nutes, tent, seeds, pots, fans, ect..! And to get that AC package would be dope to get for my setup but don't know if able to afford at the moment. I need to upgrade lighting as well and that would be a good start for me and oh yeah I still need to get a tent bc I've just been growing out of my closet the last few years but any and all help would be greatly appreciated my friend so I can find out a ballpark figure I need to reach to start getting my AC Infinity gear! Happy belated 420 brother and I hope to hear back as I'm trying to get everything sorted out for this year still. Got my Infants I'm babying until there good and nice enough to go outside and only gotta Mars hydro 1000 for Inside and a ghetto rigged inline exhaust system which I'd love to replace with the AC INFINITY inlines and someother things but I'm just curious what that costed you if you don't mind so I can have something to shoot for my fellow gromie!!! I hope you have a good rest of your weekend Sir! Happy toking...💯🙂🤙✌️

At 28:57 you want quality extension cords that cost a lot more because the wires thicker you want the outlets that you have that you plug into have a higher quality wires in them as well so that it can take more and it's a GFI as well take all that into account cuz you're going to be using a lot more wattage

In Asia they’ve got the massive tech facilities for manufacturing these diodes. I doubt there’s a lot of woman and children doing anything in this industry. For example almost all the silicone chips in the world are made in Taiwan. They’ve got massive factories making cpu/gpu chips there and I wouldn’t be shocked to hear that diodes are in a similar boat

Not the most powerful but they are cost efficient for people who don't have the financial resources to buy higher wattage lights to put it simply people do what they can afford to do 50 yrs ago some of us used 100 watt incandescent bulbs and liked it lmmfao.
