Entering and exiting the level essentially pause the 64 frame counter (but not restart it). Hence the “cut out the frames” You also have to do some shifting for lag frames, but if it’s close enough to the equivalent of 64 frames in sec/ms, it’s not very suspect. Being off by 30%+ though… at specifically the times where a runner can splice? welp that’s a nail in the coffin.

I heard the migraine bit, it's worth checking into FL41 dye for your glasses. It's supposedly more effective than other coatings, etc for migraine treatment. I haven't used it myself, but I know a few people who have and a couple of opticians who love the stuff saying it's great.

I feel like flawless is based on one's own expectation on what we want our run to look like. Competitive runners will often overlook their mistakes whenever they PB. Top runners cannot afford that luxury if we really wanna PB, so we constantly look out for every tiny mistake or flaw that can be improved upon. TLDR: getting a flawless run is ez when you don't seek perfection.

There is an alternative they did not talk about. But it’s the Frame-walk underneath the tower to collect the 4th red coin but that’s only for 1 or 0 star path. I don’t think it save anytime compared to the Tsukashima cycle.

this is not a cycle but a route variation for 0/1 star. therefore it was not covered

This is so fucking crazy. I had the weirdest dream last night. At least level 2, when we're talking Inception terms. 😅 And I was playing Mario 64, but the cartridge had Luigi on the cover... 🤔 And I was trying to demonstrate Chip Clip, but failed every time... So strange.... I don't even RUN this game! 😅 And I don't have an N64 anymore. Or ANY Nintendo console for that matter....

Why don't people always use the best strats in runs? How can you be satisfied with a run that has only the 2nd best strategy in it? It would drive me nuts lol

Actually doing runs is more satisfying than doing the hardest strats. The harder the stats, the less runs you'll be able to even finish which is why 70 and 120 aren't as execution heavy as 0 1 and 16. It's a different type of skillset

It's about consistency, going for a BLJ on moving platforms and then doing a sideflip into a 1-2 frame wall kick isn't easy at all. The next best option is just Tsukishima cycle that has precise movement but very doable. Especially for longer 70 and 120 runs where you would have to restart often and rarely get into the later stages.
