Odd to think that Stan would appear so much when you think about it, it's somewhat of an unusual privilege. Beside the main characters (Guybrush, Elaine, and LeChuck) only Stan and the Voodoo Lady appeared in all five games to date. Close behind are Herman Toothroth who appeared in Monkey 1, 2, and 4 plus a cameo as animatronic in Monkey 3, and Murray, who appeared in Monkey 3, 4, and Tales (and is set to appear in Return but we don't know about the rest of the cast yet). Beside these few, every other character has only appeared in two games at most: The Men of Low Moral Fiber in Monkey 1 and 2, Wally in Monkey 2 and 3, Lemonhead in Monkey 1 and 3, and Guybrush's crew in Monkey 1 and 4. The three-headed monkey too you may count as appearing in 1 and 4 plus animatronic in 3 but it's more of a recurring gag than a character.

Haha yes it is strange that stan appeared so many times. You can understand the voodoo lady appearing so often as she always played a big part in giving you a general gist of what you need to do i think.

i mean, if we take the third game into account, he should still be stuck in the coffin throughout 3a. However, your point about his jacket changing may be a bit of luck. would be hilarious if Stan got let out in Return - and got a change of coat - only to get locked back in the same coffin by the end of the game

Stan's jacket in TMI seems to be magical, the pattern stays in place even when his jacket moves up or down.

the next monkey island game is meant to be or at least have in it the carnival of the dammed at the end of monkey island 2. that is at least where the old creators want to add more context as all we see at the start of monkey island 3 is Guybrush leaving the island where the carnival of the dammed is in that floating bumper car. there is a huge article somewhere about this

Curse of monkey island was alright but i remember feeling a bit off with it when it first came out

Absolutely LOVED Curse of MI. The acting, the sound effects, the music, humour, dialogues, the story was fantastic. Every new caracter I just loved. And I could never get that "A pirate I was meant to be" song out of my head. I'll be 38 soon and still singing "trim the sails and roam the seas"
