The first video I watched was very informative. Thank you! I'll be signing up soon. Will you be offering fingering info for the EWI solo?
@ewi_den4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Rex. All of the EWI Standard fingerings will work on the EWI Solo. (The Solo has 1 additional key, It's an Alternate F# key, which you could implement if you like, it is not necessary and many players I've talked to have disabled that key.) Hope this was helpful.

Thank you for the quick reply!!! I just visited your website and joined the EWI Den. I'm looking forward to using all the resources you have there and signing up for the major scale project! (I'm also looking forward to receiving my Solo... backordered till the first of the year... aargh!). Thank you for sharing your wisdom and experience with us newbies to the EWI world!!

I just purchased my Roland AE-20, looking for good learning resources online; I notice that your video are teaching using Akai. Does your courses work for Roland?
@ewi_den2 жыл бұрын
I just looked through the AE-20 Manual and it looks like you can choose EWI Standard Fingerings, so Yes the EWI DEN Lessons will work just fine.

I notice that in the cover photo for your video, in many other EWI videos, and even in Brecker's earliest proto-EWI videos I see some sort of terry-cloth looking wrapping around the top of the instrument an inch or two down from the mouthpiece. I don't see it in your lesson. What it this wrapping for, I don't see people using it on other wind controllers. Is it moistened so you can wet your hands if you need to?
@ewi_den4 жыл бұрын
That's a wrist sweatband. If you practice for a long time, water will run down the side of the EWI and ground out the keys or Octave rollers. When that happens, you are done till it drys. Not fun! (Yeah, once in awhile they fall off, it's not in the position in the video.) You really pay attention to detail. Thank you for your support! Take care!

@@ewi_den Thanks for the infor. I am actually a WX7 player but I'm thinking about eventually switching. The idea of having no moving parts is appealing, but I do like the fingering system and extra keys of the WX7. The sliders seem a lot nicer than the WX7 pitch wheel too.
@ewi_den4 жыл бұрын
@@davidmdyer838 I haven't had a chance to play the WX7. I've owned an AKAI EWI since 1987, never even thought about changing. I am curious about the other products out there. Have fun!!!

mine don't go as low as that, I don't know if I'm setting it up wrong but the last key doesn't seem to work

This is novice? yeesh! Can I get the idiots guide for EWI? I played clarinet for a few years in my preteens and got really good with private lessons, but that was 30 yrs ago, so I'm starting from scratch.
