Before he was The Falcon, before he was an Avenger, before he was Captain America, he was Sam Wilson, United States Airforce pararescue. In today’s video, I will be going over everything we know about the EXO-7 Falcon program within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and what led him to become one of the most pivotal characters in the MCU. As with all of our lore videos, I will only be covering what is CANON to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that means no comics that aren’t part of the greater MCU. With that said, let’s discuss the EXO Falcon Program.

The MCU took the Falcon, who was often portrayed in the comics as 'that flying guy who works with Captain America' to a force in his own right. Better...they did it WITHOUT having to turn Sam into yet another low-level Mutant with one semi-useless power (controlling his pet falcon Redwing). The modifications to his wings actually looked like they made sense (they're metal so why not use them as shields?).

Honestly I used to think Falcon was useless in comics pre-MCU. Flying just didn’t seem like a particularly useful power outside or recon or evac but the movies did a great job showing all the other offensive capabilities to the point where you can believe this guy can take on guys like Cap and Iron Man.

@@marvelprince Same. MCU Falcon is a lot more of a Gadgeteer type hero though. Guns, micro missiles, bombs, attack/recon/support drone, multiple visual sensor enhancements and defense as well as offense capabilities with his wings on top of insane mobility. They never really show him go all out at once, but that is a lot of possible attack vectors to deal with.

They did the flying really good in the finale the only thing I’d like is to see falcon use more martial arts but I guess thats down to choreography

I think the reason we didn't really see the martial arts is because of the way that Sam was trying to imitate Steve's more boxing/wrestling fighting style.

Sam Wilson (In the comics at least) is a superb martial artist. He can take down multiple trained fighters. Unfortunately, Batroc is just too good of a martial artist for him.

It’d be really cool right. If there’s a season 2 of Captain America and the Winter Soldier, there could be a new big three. Sam as Captain America, James/Bucky as the Winter Soldier or the White Wolf, and Torres as the Falcon.

The Exo-7 Falcon can be thought of as the US military’s modern approach to a “super soldier.” Emphasizing speed and maneuverability over raw strength, to better fight asymmetrical wars. In a way, Sam Wilson was always a successor to Steve Rogers.

So is this why Sam join cap due to Steve reminding of his fallen friend, also seeing as his friend died from overwhelming fire and fallen to his death you can see Sam made sure Steve wouldn't fall. But now it came back to him when Rhode fallen in combat.

The Exo-7 Falcon was created prior to 2014. Since Iron Man suit was created in 2009 (the movie timeline, not the released date), the Falcon suit must be the first ever Iron Man replica that works perfectly.

Not replica but alternative. Hammer suits are replicas that worked perfectly in was is around 2010 mcu time (whiplash dude made a perfectly working suit)

Does anyone have any information on what power’s falcon’s wing suit? like since tony remade it does it have an ark reactor in it? Is it powered by some sifi miracle fuel thats energy dense enough to do all this for a sustained time period thats also cheap enough to have a consistent supply? Or was that one of the creative liberties marvel is taking advantage of

I will never ever understand the wings. In a world of iron man suits and shit and flying massive space ships and flying aircraft carriers, he gets a couple of metal wings and some goggles and a couple guns. It just doesn't make any sense in this universe. Give the guy some better armor and some iron man repulsers.
