I'm subscribing to your channel man. You get right to the point and it's spot on. Good job! This was the worst movie I've seen in decades! There was NOTHING scary about this film and both me and my buddy fell asleep! I think part 3 was the better sequel with Brad Douriff! (The voice of Chucky!) Now that was a good movie! The story in part 3 kept me awake and I was actually freaked out by the voices and acting. Keep up the good work!👍👍

Dude it’s the beginning of a trilogy. Maybe it’s done on purpose and it will make sense later in the story. Let this movie be different. Relax. The movie ended on a cliffhanger honestly. I mean Reagan was mostly a side character in the original. We focus on Chris for most of the movie. It's about her struggling to find help for her daughter. Reagan doesn't become a large focus until the end and even then it's focused on the priests and not Regan. So, in that sense it actually makes sense to focus more on the dad than the girls, but this movie didn't do that well enough to make it good.

When I saw the trailer in which they mimicked the original b&w trailer, I thought how interesting it could have been if they did the whole movie in b&w. Something I hated about it was that it doesn't understand the dread of the original exorcist. You dreaded the eventual exorcism because you didn't know how it was going to turn out. That's a bunch of bull because in believer we had no idea who was going to live or die. Maybe they'd both live. I had no idea the priest would die like that. His character didn't seem like he would. It came out of left field. They had never shown hell before in 1973 so when they did this time it was soul wrenching when she was dragged. Norbert Leo Butz is an amazing Broadway actor, one of the few with two Tonys for his acting (only nine people have ever done that). His film work is limited. But I've heard frequently that stage performers can often go way too big on screen, especially with a bad director, because a Broadway star's version of "go big!" is often way, way too big for the screen, especially for a flashy performer like Butz. He played the original Fiyero in Wicked and played Alfred P Doolittle in the recent revival of My Fair Lady, both big, showy, over-the-top parts. Anyway. Don't knock him just for sucking in this movie.

No. No you weren't. You were kept out because you didn't have any faith and because you were too close and connected to the possessed girl on account of her being your daughter. Imagine saying about the two men who died saving your daughters life "yeah, but they were a bit of a boy's club, amirite?"... Just unbelievable. Such a weak and eye-rolling attempt to say "we're hip, we're with it, we're progressive" while spitting in the face of the characters of the original movie. @@timmyboy2495 imo, with the two girls, they focus way more on Angela. Catherine (and her parents) do not feel as fleshed out. So even though it is two girls it never feels like it is about the two girls. To me it feels like more of a gimmick or setup. Them being missing for three days is just glossed over and they could have focused more on that because that was so interesting and different from what happened to Regan in the original. Especially since they were not just missing from their parents but they were missing from the earth. The fact that they were in Hell but it only gets a mention is a big fumble to me To me, again my opinion, the multi religion team was very fumbled. They could have fleshed them out way more. it just felt like another gimmick. Since they were doing three movies they could have spent more time developing the characters and making the coming together feel more organic. Plus, without giving everything away, they felt useless because they are not the reason for the resolution of the story. They are not the defeat of the demon, so Anns long speech to the cop at the end makes no sense because what she said never really was the point was never really the point or the reason for the climax. The choice Victor having to make and the choice that needed to be made at the end being fumbled mostly goes back to Catherine and her parents not being fleshed out. You never really feel like they are as real as Angela or Victor so when the big thing happens it is shocking but does not have the weight it should have. I did not feel invested enough to be devastated at the end like the film wants you to be. And Chris being in the movie for about ten minutes definitely felt like a nostalgic gimmick. And all the connections they allude to in the movie about her and the demon go nowhere. Now I know that they had planned a trilogy so maybe some things like Chris may have gotten explored further but it felt to me like the movie was either rushed or maybe they had shot a lot more and it was going to be longer and a lot for cut or changed. This is one of those times were the film could have benefited from being longer or they should have spread things out over three movies. As a horror film, it was not the most terrible film ever. It was mostly just an, okay I saw that once in October and I will forget about it soon after kind of movie. But as a continuation of the Exorcist, it fell cheap, way too safe, and like it didn't really know what it wanted to say. I could not tell if they were mocking the one family or not half the time. The first one felt more authentic and this one felt a little hollow

I saw The Exorcist yesterday I realized something. The Exorcist is not just about a little girl being possessed and that's it. No, the film, in my opinion, is about the loss of faith in any aspect we might have in the world especially for the world in The Exorcist came out in being the seedy and depraved world of the 70's. The whole movie shows how in every institute we might use to explain why someone is acting in ways we can't explain and that's shown when the mother goes to the doctors to see if anything is physically wrong with her and theres nothing. Then she goes to psychiatrist and they can't explain what's going on with her mentally. Finally in a desperate act, the mothers last hope is to go to the church and to get her exorcised, but even they couldn't save her as Father Karrass actually just shit talks the demon out of Regan and kills himself. Everything we're shown, they don't have a rational explanation for why Regan was possessed and they only reason Regan made it out alive was because Karrass was already a broken man who was doubting his religion and when confronted by something that no man can explain, not even the church, and guilt he has for thinking he caused his mother's death, in the end choose to sacrifice himself not only to save her, but to bring this great evil out of this world whatever way he can and because I don't think he can ever be mentally apart of this world anymore and goes out physically as well. what I'm saying is that no one can explain why this happened and like in the real world, especially for the 70's, they heard so many stories about murders and deaths that seem to come out of nowhere and we often see little to no explanation as to why and I think that's what the movie is trying to say. Sometimes evil exists so great that we simply can't explain no matter what way we try to explain it, but it doesn't we should avoided it and still try to fight back against it despite of the dangers it might bring. I rarely hear anyone talk about this film on a thematic level and I think pop culture has kinda ruined any serious discussion this film might have, but I just wanted to explain what I got out of it because no else does besides saying that possessed Regan is creepy af.

After rewatching The Exorcist III and reading the book the original exorcist is based off of, "The Exorcist: Believer" is nothing more than a slap in the face to the late William Peter Blatty. The exorcism isn't even the point of The Exocist, it is just a catalyst for the character drama. Beliver seems to have been made by people who saw clips of the original movie with no deeper understanding of the source material whatsoever.

The fundamental problem with this piece of shit is simple: The Exorcist is no not *this* kind of movie. The mere fact that anyone thought this was a good idea is baffling, and makes me think none of the people involved with the project care even a bit. What everyone keeps missing is, The Exorcist isn't a spook-fest franchise. The fact that it's even about a possessed girl at all isn't the point. It's a human drama about a mother who's trying to understand what's going on with her daughter and a priest going through a crisis of faith. It has more in common with First Reformed than it does with The Conjuring. It's not a "horror IP franchise", no matter how often the studio tries to come out with shit sequel after shit sequel (Exorcist III avoids this because, being written and directed by Blatty, it understands this point, so it goes about things in a totally different way). To look at that original film and go "yep, seems like the perfect property to make a legacy sequel/reboot with Marvel-style fan-service and cameos", is to misunderstand it on such a basic level so as to make it insulting. Fuck whoever approved and put up the money for this disaster - you have no business selling popcorn at a concession stand, let alone greenlighting movies.

I usually laugh once or twice during a horror movie but I laughed during the ENTIRE exorcism bit because half the shit didn't make sense. Like I don't usually get scared by horror but this movie genuinely wasn't even horror. Even at the end, when both of the fathers said they wanted their child to live, surely they should've both died plus also killed the people running the exorcism (they did say that either one of them lives or they both die so keep to that concept at least). Also regarding the audio, yea it was super quiet in my theatre too, we thought they just didn't crank the audio up but I guess it wasn't the cinema themselves

And I did not pay to see this movie I saw it for free because bad movies do not deserve my money. But this movie is far beyond from bad. It’s so bad it makes exorcist II The heretic look like a masterpiece in comparison. I will say though the movie did have some interesting ideas but was executed very poorly. This movie is just so disrespectful to William Friedkin’s legacy and the legacy of the original. It almost feels like Danny McBride and David Gordon Green literally smoked themselves retarded before they spent $400 million dollars to obtain the rights to the franchise just so they can sabotage the original and its legacy.

I still dont get how they made an exorcist movie, without a god damn exorcist. Like, its in the title dude, the whole original movie is carried by Karras and Merrin, they are the soul of it, and they didn’t even had someone to take their role in this movie. Then, the girls, which are the best part of everything, barely have time here, same with whatever demon possessed them, Regan and the original demon had an actual presence in the original and that relationship between Regan, the demon and the two fathers was the whole point of the original movie, none of that is here. Finally, i liked the idea of the movie trying to make the beliefs of people the strength of the whole thing, I genuinely like it, is even in the title but they never get on with that idea, they mention it once and then its gone, the whole idea is gone and it ends up being a very very generic movie of exorcisms, like the 100s more people did after the 73 original exorcist movie

I actually think the reason why it isn't as good as we all hoped it was is because the original Exorcist actually had some disturbing scenes, ones that would give you trouble sleeping for the next few days and make you cry and maybe even faint (as people did back when it came out) back then the movie directors had to rely on the actors power and special effects to deliver, now all of that can be done virtually and people just don't appreciate real scary shit anymore, because it would be deemed as unconventional or even ''disturbing'' but in a bad way, but if you ask me the entire point of a horror movie is to actually scare the shit out of you, and not to be directed at all audiences. Horror movies just became cash grabs as all other movies and are enabling even kids to watch them and maybe even laugh at the scenes.

Tbh the atmosphere in this felt a bit different after the first movie but the formula was somewhat the same. The Actress “ Lidya and Olivia” were absolutely amazing. The performance from these girls was fantastic 💯💯. Angela Father in this movie gave an amazing performance too. It was very beautiful to see Chris being reunited with her Daughter Regan at the End 💯 Now for my critique😅 this is just my opinion When Katherine mother made a lil slick comment about her daughter hanging out with Angela made me turn my neck. Idk why Chris went upstairs by herself like Yo this isn’t the time to be Super badass “. They kinda wasted her character in this movie . I wish somebody woulda told the priest not to touch the girls head while performing the exorcist. Last. I wish Katherine dad didn’t pick her daughter. I must be the only guy who enjoyed this film. Obviously it’s not as good as the OG but still had good levels of suspense, especially in the 1st act.

From what I have read a little while ago, there is no guarantee that David gordon Green will be directing the next movie or third movie either. He might walk away from this so there might be a new director for the next movie.

I just seen the movie , I was crying in the movie because as a Christian some scenes hit home. The trailer seems scary and horrifying, but there’s a lesson to this movie. One the devil always come to kill, steal, and destroy. He’s also a liar. Also, have faith during trying times. Angela’s father didn’t have faith and the demon told him that. Lastly in the Bible it says two are better than one, and I like how they all came together. maybe, I like this because it was so bland.
