I was just there at the Exorcist stairs. My respects to the stuntman that did the scene of the priest rolling down the stairs because these stairs are a huge way down to the bottom. My favorite horror movie of all time. I walked the same path as Regans mom as she left the Univeristy and I could not find the church were she briefly stops to listen to father Damien talking to another priest.

Each step of the stairway was padded with 2 or 3 inches of rubber, allowing the stuntman to tumble all the way down without getting injured!

I do like that The directors didn't go for some typical Haunted House looking building. By using a location like this that they used, it does give a more real feel that hits home a bit more. as opposed to some old 2 storie farmhouse with an attic.

Why did they move the annex to the other side? I liked it better on side it was on in the movie. They must of did a lot of construction to move the annex back onto the other side. Can you ask the owners of the house to go inside and see the house? I want to go see inside if I ever get the chance to visit Washington D.C.

The annex didn't get moved to the other side. The annex was just a facade built for the movie, so when the shooting wrapped, they just tore it down. What's on the other side is actually another residence, not part of the house at all.

Was the actual movie shot inside this house or they just used this house for the exterior shots? I would think that most of the interior shots were done in a studio, also the "real" house were this happened was in at a different location in DC, forgot the location and it has already been demolished a while back.

Interior film was done in NY studio However, I don t want to be inside this house, I feel there is a bad spirit, well, this film shock me when I was a kid and watched in 70's

@@dinahagans2325 The real Exorcist House is in Cottage City, MD which is about a mile from Mt. Rainier. It's located at 3807 40th Avenue. Mt. Rainier was where the boy and his family attended church. They never actually lived in that city. That location was cited as a means to conceal where the possession case actually happened and the boy's true identity. His name is Ronald Edwin Hunkeler. He graduated from Gonzaga High School in 1954. The other location where the exorcism took place was in a hospital St. Louis where the boy had family.
