Season 3 of The Expanse is a work of art. Some of the best Scifi to ever be on TV. So much happens and it is all awesome

Yay! Welcome back, your voice is missed. Nice axolotl. As a fan of the books, yes, I'd enjoy hearing you talk through them if you find the time and inclination. The audiobooks are particularly well crafted if they slot into your lifestyle better.

The system shot to re-establish the current events is such a smart way to get everyone back on the story lines. Great begining for an outstanding season 3. Enjoy the ride

The ABC Gang (Avadarala, Bobbie, Cotyar) is my second favorite group of people in Expanse.

Glad you're back! You are about to embark into one of the best seasons ever put to screen IMO! Looking forward to the next one!

Glad to have you back reacting to the The Expanse! - & You never have to apologize for taking a break when you need to.😉 Welcome back to the wild ride - & the “Cliff Hanger” endings they love to throw at us so much….😋 - (I’m guessing the OPA would have loaded all the Mormons left on Tycho onto a ship & sent them back to Earth to get them out of the way) Looking forward to the next one! 🚀

The Mormons on Tycho have probably gone back to Earth. Whether the writers intended to imply that Alex leaving his family was acceptable will be shown by what personal consequences Alex suffers (or doesn't) during the course of the story.

10:02 not because the ship is moving forward, but because it's _accelerating_ (which you can tell because the main drive is on)

I would love to have you do videos on the books! You have some great ideas and insights which would be very applicable to the books as well and they are all great and fast reads.

I'd love for you to do videos on the books (there's 9). They're quite a bit different than the show...lot's more insight into the characters and different storylines.

Welcome back! Alex isn't right, but he's being honest, at least. It's not much, but it's something. You're right, I don't think Amos is the duplicitous sort, he's pretty plain spoken, though we get a lot more of his mental processes in the books and I'd describe it as calculating, but not calculated. I agree about Holden needing a mission. He's a knight in search of a quest. It's Don Kee-ho-tay. Don Quixote is about a man who believes himself to be a knight in a story book, when the world is a corrupt, ordinary place. His mighty steed is a knackered old nag, his beloved maiden betrothed is a tavern sex worker, etc etc. His delusions and dedication to a world that never really existed make him a figure of derision and mockery to the point that he is "tilting at windmills".

Welcome back, Wren. Great to see you reacting to the Expanse again. To paraphrase Bobbie, Hitch your tits and pucker up, it's Season three!!

Welcome back. Honestly think you are one of the best reactors to the Expanse. You even commented about the season 3 scene setting into which I loved. Looking forward to your thoughts as the season goes ahead. - some more thoughts about religion in this season that you might be interested in

I'd be VERY interested to hear what you make of the books, I love the books and the TV show, they're both amazing.

Great to see you back. Regarding the Mormons, there's no reason to think they're displaced and still aboard Tycho. I've always assumed it was a relatively small group there overseeing the construction of the Nauvoo. I figured they all returned to Earth (via public transport ships) once the Nauvoo was gone. Book 2 ends with S3.E6, and book 3 is "compressed" into the remainder of the season, ending with S3.E13. Books 4, 5, and 6 align with the respective seasons.

It could be fun seeing the books through the eyes of someone who saw the show first, I've only seen people approach it all from the other way around. Don't force yourself into making too much content though.

Welcome back! I don't think there were that many Mormons on Tycho Station given that the ship was still some months (years?) from being complete. There was just a handful of elders and administrators. The entirety of them fitted in a small conference room back in S2, after all.

Great to see you posting a video after a break! Season 3 is often considered the best, though in my opinion season 5 is more mature and overall better. Yet season 3 is super good and watching episodes will feel like no time has passed. Yes, Alex's attitude towards his family is not great, but he is one of more conflicted characters in the show - there is some willing delusion going on for example in his attitude towards his military service vs his family. Well, that is human, Fred's second in command is Camina Drummer. Don't worry you will remember the name, not without a reason she is one of the most beloved characters in the Expanse. You are right about Holden. I think we can say that his entire upbringing was almost like conditioning him to become a hero even if he doesn't like that and seems aware of this from time to time. Still trying to be a good man in morally complicated situations is never easy. Episodes ending the book are 5 and 6 and are really rewarding. See you next time!

14:59 I don't believe that was the message the show want to convey, at least I hope it wasn't. maybe more of a statement of personal fact. I agree with you, it's a shitty thing to do. 18:07 Don Quixote is a story about an old knight fighting windmills because he thought them giants. it's abut a perceived threat and futility.
