Hello Pete, I love your content. Continue the great work. After watching the first 5 seasons, I decided to read the novels. I am now at mid volume 5. Ashford is definitely different in the TV show. In the novels, they keep describing Draper as a big beautiful woman. They got the beautiful right ut it would have been nice if they used an effect like LOTR to make her bigger. Can't wait for season 6. Your audio level is quite lower than average so one has to raise the volume and it gets very loud during ads which is kind oy annoying. I don't know if you are aware of that.

I haven't read the books yet, so my plan is to finish watching the series then get the audiobooks and listen to them on my jog/hikes/drives. I've usually been a book-first kind of person but didn't learn about The Expanse books until after binging the first 3 seasons.

There are a few great shows out right now. Foundation is looking like a gem for a futuristic space show. The show See is pretty epic, not space oriented though. There is also For All Man Kind, that is an alternate universe series about the space race and Russia getting to the moon first.

All they have to do is market the bloody thing better than Amazon has. Everyone I know I have got into it has loved it and started getting other people into it.

Right from the first episode I knew how much I was gonna love this show, was really heartbroken when it ended after season 3 but the revival was just epic and just like me I am sure many of you don't want it to end because it was and will always be the best show for me and just can hope that they will complete the saga

You’re one of 2 who I enjoy following re your take on The Expanse. I liked how the books were interpreted for the TV shows. I’m grateful for the saving of the program & the fact that we have gotten to a 6th season. Having read all the books & have pre ordered the last I’m sad at the fate assigned Alex due to the real life acts of the actor portraying Alex. I’m curious as to how the writers will cover the loss of such a key character.

Great recap. Soooo amped for more EXPANSE. "When they get back to the Razorback they learn that Alex had a stroke from the high-G maneuver during the approach, and he died as a result". And also Alex died from... other off-screen reasons. :-( I do note that the Razorback is indicated at 10:56 in the recap as the Screaming Firehawk, and so it shall be in my mind.

I, would highly recommend the books. The first 6 books/the show are basically just set up and world building. The final trilogy is where shit hits a particle accelerator. No spoilers, the series ending, idk if there was a better way to do it. Shit's intense in the first 6 seasons/books. It gets real in the final trilogy

Weaving thousands of threads and a massive universe perfectly woven and contained. And it illustrates just how far our speculative science goes. Massive ideas portrayed with imaginative storytelling. It's brutal, and touching. I want it to continue

Hi, Pete! I'm a new subscriber. I wish I'd known about your channel when I first started watching. After GoT, I was starving for this kind of rich, voluptuous storytelling. I'm in the middle of book 8, and I'm sure that won't affect my enjoyment of season 6. I'd tried watching The Expanse a couple of times because the visuals were so beautiful, but I just couldn't keep up. I knew I would tackle it again and with your help I was able to immerse myself in the story. Just breathtaking! Clarissa Mao is a pilot. Her sister Julie got the Razorback which is one of the many reasons they had a falling out. I'm not sure if she can handle the Rocinante but she has flown in the past.

Book Spoilers: this summary made me think of a few things..... --why would they (duarte, etc) think that the laconia experiment with the stolen protomolecule would turn out any differently than eros? is there something from the books that i just cant remember? if so, which book? --1373, what was the basis for 1373? just random? also, the gate builders only had 1373 gates? was there ever mention of gates beyond (within) the initial 1373 gates? i vaguely remember a science team? blowing a gate up, but ill have to re read to remember what that was about. --re read strange dogs, yeah, i think it is the best novella. the way the boy looked after dog-fix sure sounds like Amos after the events on laconia.

I stopped reading when I saw how good the first season of the show was just so I could enjoy the show for what it is without comparisons. I was pissed when I heard about whatever the creepos name is that was playing Alex as I knew they would probably kill him off(rightfully so IMO), and they gave his character a good death. It wasn't Alex's fault LOL. I was enjoying him and Draper's dynamic especially even if they never hook up. So I'll look forward to reading the books once this show is over to see how that manifests.

Mars has less gravity than earth. Mars is being abandoned by Martians. Why doesn’t the Martian government invite belters to live there? They could extract resources from Mars and help terraform. Seems like a no-brainer to me. 🤷🏾‍♂️

UHH because of what Naomi experienced? The vast majority of belters simply cannot tolerate even THAT level of gravity, as they all grew up with only thrust gravity and spin gravity, and none of it even comes close to Mars' level. Ceres is the only sizeable body belters live on, and it's gravity is MINISCULE.

She chose Holden because he had a history of sending out system wide messages in the middle of chaotic situations haha
