They will praise you when you study or convert, but if you leave the religion, then they accuse you of being misguided (especially if you point out the reasons why you left), or of having never been a "real" muslim in the first place. I also converted after getting basic information on Islam. The five pillars, etc. After learning more, I realised that I didn't believe in the entire religion (because yes, there are strange or disturbing hadith and quran verses; yes, the religion is Arab-centred, it isn't meant for the whole world as we know it today). Many people stuck in their religious point of view cannot accept that apostates have valid reasons for leaving religion. They can critique religions very well, just not their own.

But this verses needed to be strong. so again another verse was added - Now it says Moses was the first Muslim (Quran 17:143 / 26:51) So because finally those verses put people who born before Christ, they think they can easily claim that Jesus and His diciples were Muslim. But, in Quran 39:12 says Muhammad started Islam. He was the first Muslim. And you should believe him because if you do not believe him, you do not believe Allah. So, tell me again. How did Abraham, Moses and Jesus and His diciples were Muslim? I have bunch of question for you to answer.

It is written in Quran that after going through Quran there may be two possibility that 1.A person will be having intimacy with islam and will become so pious or devoted, or 2.A person will astray or get away from islam Why this gonna happen? Example: At two different places in Quran, at first place it is written that offer NAMAZ(five times daily prayes) but at the other place it is written that don't offer NAMAZ. Nick John you may be right there. However, I wanted to refer to the exposure to social pressures through performing those prayers. It serves to make sure your belief is intact 24 hours a day by joining fellow Muslims in prayers 5 times a day (hence one can't be alone!). Second, those who don't perform the rituals, or even do so reluctantly are deemed hypocrites. Those refusing prayers are threatened with execution, and hypocrites are promised the worst place in hell, even worse than outright non-believers, as they are regarded as traitors. I completely felt the whole "sense of community" thing. I have been researching about religions for a while and honestly, Islam has felt very warm and welcoming since many muslims have offered to pray for me and I think it is beautiful that in any place you go, you will be welcome (because of the Ummah being a family). However, I began questioning everything when I learned about only being able yo be saved if you take Shahada: is your God really that weak, that selfish? My idea of God only cares about love, not about saying some words. I dont believe my dead family members will automatically go go Hell because they didnt take Shahada. My God Is greater than that and I can not be part ir a religion which believes everyone who doesnt act like them will be condemned.

To name a few New testament : - 5800 greek manuscripts (which arent just fragments but contain if i recall on average about 400 pages of writings each, which is also true for:) - Aprox 15000 more manuscripts in other languages - writings of the church fathers dating back to a few decades after the crucifixion of Christ - Non Christian and non biblical sources, from Josephus to Tacitus to greek and other pagan writers testifying to the crucifixion of Jesus, and even things like the day becoming dark as night the year it happened as the new testament said. Also every major event in the new testament is written before it happened which the new testament are little more than eyewitness accounts of. Example: The crucifixion of the Messiah (Isaiah 53, Daniel 9 (70 sevens gives you the year 30 AD), Psalm 22, Zechariah 12:10 etc) Im not sure the muslims in here have iq or enough interest in the truth to Google it, but you can find everything on internet, even translated to English. So now we are all waiting to see all the muslim manuscripts of allahs bible. Show us, muslims.

P Belgazo I converted to Islam from Christianity and was muslim for 14 years. I am now an atheist and have been an atheist for about a year now. To be honest, if you compare christianity and Islam in their entirety, Islam makes way more sense than Christianity. The difference is like the difference between kindergarten and freshman year of high school. So Islam, for someone who wishes to devote themselves entirely to "god", makes way more sense. Beyond the demand for meaning, the religious belief systems define values, goals, value certain behaviors (and devalue others) and this can become very problematic. This claim has been factor for the backwardness of the Islamic world. It rests on two other claims - the claim of "revelation" (while it is easy to show that there was never any "revelation" in examining the Quran) and 2- Islam is the LAST of the revelations. However, I grant you that the dogmatic of Islam, its fundamental beliefs are more SIMPLE to understand - a single God who imposes a set of rules (prohibitions, obligations) to which one must obey to be saved! That's basically what Islam is (and Judaism)! But this simplicity (a major argument of muslim apologetics) is very misleading. Because Islam appears to be without mysteries (although there are a few! - the predestination among them) and that for many people the absence of mysteries (or miracles) is considered more rational, Islam would be considered to be superior to Christianity. And you write a very interesting analogy: "The difference is like the difference between kindergarten and freshman year of high school ". In sum, Christianity would be inferior to Islam because of the complexities of its theology which can be seen as irrational and consequently less (or even not) true!!!! But it's easy to argue the opposite. Because of its simplicity, Islam is much more of the intellectual level of the kindergarten (or the Bedouin) than the more complex theological Christianity! In fact I even doubt that Christian theology is within reach of the high school! Try to explain to a kindergarten child (and high school students) the subtleties of Trinitarian or Incarnation dogma! It can easily be shown that those dogmas are in fact highly rational if only because they are based on many distinctions that require an effort of reflection! Their subtlety is the result of several centuries of debates. Complexity doesn't make them "false". And it certainly makes them interesting!
