I would love to see some monster gameplay, despite what you said about it being somewhat one dimensional, personally it is almost always more interesting to get that other side POV, same goes for Beautiful Light, I have yet to see anyone play as the monster, and that would be a very interesting video imo. cool game and great critique otherwise.

Man, this game is hot trash. Sad to see some of my favorite content creators (aquafps, zchum, operator drewski) pushing it to the masses just for a little financial gain. Is it possible this game becomes good some day? Of course. But it needs some obvious gameplay loop overhauls. Throw aside the non-existent replaysbility factor. It just doesn't look fun after the initial first few rounds. And for the folks promoting this game. Do better.

For some reason watching this made me think that a mecha extraction shooter would be awesome. Level Zero looks solid, still early on but has good features. Definitely still rough but has good basics. Could use some PvP+E maybe later on, better heart monitor and variation, better expansion on the firearms. Maybe security rooms that let you ping an area but drain power in the area faster or for longer. Also the monsters could use a bit of a buff as they seem a bit weak right now.

​@@GameFuMasterVery true. I think for any one of these indie extraction shooters to persist after launch is to make them with PVE in mind first. I understand that PVP is a focus but without a good PVE base, the game gose completely defunct after the playerbase dies down. At least then, you'll have a somewhat of a co-op looter shooter.

I think the major problem with these games is that they always force PVP. Lots of games need multiplayer but not every game needs PVP

For the monsters, they should look at how EVOLVE handled monsters. Have the monsters shift to different forms depending on kills or eggs

I mean I feel like the problems in these games is that if you make it ai controlled players will inevitably outsmart it and find the most efficient way to deal with it, neutering all threat it poses. Happened in Hunt Showdown and even against Amensia's fairly intelligent AI you can learn how to quickly neutralize it, once you learn its patterns .

A game like this definitely needs a massive focus on audio design. Right now there are things that don't make any sound, things that make too much sound (those annoying af mines, like seriously what kind of mine beeps to alert someone to it?), ect. It could turn into something good, but as it stands right now just from watching this I don't think I'd be entertained for more than an hour or so. Definitely think they should wait on early access until there is more meat on this because if they launch it too early it could be a death sentence for the game.

I think a dead zone works really well for this sort of game because it kinda emphasizes the horror aspect; if you get got by a jumpscare, your aim is gonna be all over the place after you jerk your mouse, whereas if you manage to keep calm, you'll stand a better chance in the opening seconds of a firefight. I think it would be cool to have areas of the map that are like, above-ground, open areas engulfed in a snowstorm, with vehicles, buildings, construction equipment, as cover. Maybe monsters would be able to see through the storm, or maybe players walking through the harsh winds have a slowdown effect. If they rework the sound design in the game, you could have more interesting, tactical fights in the bunkers, and then the sound of the blizzard would cover player movements, whilst limiting visibility for everyone. A rework in sound could also make the nail gun waaaaay quiet compared to the... gun-guns... thus providing a reason to carry it- for high rate of fire with low sound- compared to the shotgun, for example. Alternatively- maybe the blizzard isn't a guarantee? A little weather system for above-ground areas could be cool, and would help to shake up gameplay, especially if the open-air sections are expanded. I think a greater emphasis on light and darkness would be beneficial, providing more advantages and drawbacks for either option; maybe some sort of weak AI enemies- like the zombies in Hunt but not necessarily zombies- that are drawn towards light, while the player-monsters are repelled by it. That could create very interesting scenarios when all three parties meet, AND could also provide greater utility to the nail gun, as a silent weapon to avoid attracting the fodder. Also, consider: flamethrower. Could cast dynamic light as it's fired, and flames sticking to surfaces could also act as light sources. They're a staple of sci-fi action stories, they'd make sense for an arctic research base (what with all the ice and such), AND this game has a chance to implement them in a completely different way than any other game, given their light mechanics. What would a laser pointer do to one of those monsters, I wonder? In summary: -dead zone good, makes every action count -needs greater variety in terrain, ice caves would be cool, above-ground research facility stuff would be cool -maybe a snowstorm? It worked in The Thing -play around with sound design, sneaking can be as fun as shooting if done right -greater utilization of light and dark, for more dynamic gameplay experience -flamethrower ?? -the vibe is very cool, I think they nailed the aesthetics for what this game wants to be

Man, such a great concept. If only it didn't have pvp and the co-op was optional. Exploring the atmosphere killing monsters and looting things would be cool, esp with an added crafting system. Wish games like these didn't need internet connection to play, so you could just take them to a cabin in the mountains and chill out, away from all the noise.
