Many things don't hold up. She was an alcohol addict. She would spend time with unknown people at gay bars. She spent time wandering in certain pubs. Seems like she and her husband weren't getting along or she was a gay or bisexual. Something is fishy about her. Her husband also didn't care that she wasn't spending time with him is weird. Something doesn't add up. Some of information is hidden in my opinion. My best guess is she left her husband and family maybe because she was guilty of being a gay. There is almost no other explanation of her vanishing. Maybe her family was trying to protect her image being Indians.

Exactly. And just because she had always been safe in the past, doesn't mean that something terrible didn't happen that night. Being safe in the past had nothing to do with whether or not she was safe/unsafe on that night. It irritated me no end that so many people are assuming that she died at the WTC that morning while trying to help the injured. Not only is there absolutely zero evidence for this, but now she's celebrated as a hero and her family benefitted financially. I understand that it probably makes her family feel better to believe that's how she died, and it certainly makes it easier on the NYPD to declare her a victim of 9/11, but there isn't a single piece of evidence for this being the truth. I believe something happened to her the night before, and she never made it back to her building at all on the morning of 9/11. Apparently, it was hard to see the woman at the elevator, and Ron said that the woman "could be" Sneha, but he didn't positively identify her. And she did a lot of shopping the day before, yet the woman at the elevator wasn't carrying anything. I can understand forgetting something small on the bus/train...an umbrella, a book, a small bag...and most of us have done it. But the idea that she accidently left a half dozen large bags behind on the train is ludicrous, that really is reaching.
@justalittleturtle5600 Жыл бұрын
@@Terri_MacKay to be fair to the idea of leaving your stuff behind, I have literally done that. I left about five shopping bags at my grandmothers house after shopping with her all afternoon. I didn’t even realize I had forgotten them until I got home and out of the car and realized my bags weren’t in the back. People can do crazy things when they’re a little bit tired or off their normal schedule. Because of that, I wouldn’t entirely discount the theory of her forgetting her bags, merely because I have done that exact same thing.
@Terri_MacKay Жыл бұрын
@@justalittleturtle5600 I've done the same thing. Gone shopping, went to visit one of my sisters, and left shopping or something else there. But in the video, they were wondering if the woman at the elevator was Sneha, because she had done a lot of shopping but wasn't carrying anything. They speculated that maybe she had left her shopping on the subway, not at someone's house. I can believe leaving it at someone's house. But, if you're on a subway or bus, you've probably got some bags next to you and some on your lap. It's hard to believe that in that case, she would get off the train without them. There were things left out of this story. Like, her husband thought she may have stayed with a relative overnight because she had done that before, in which case she could have left her shopping there. But it was never made clear if we know for sure that she did stay with relatives, and did she/didn't she take the bags with her when she left in the morning. That seems like a pretty big fact to leave out.

It's two possible scenarios that could be factuality! And that is that the woman that was captured on video could could have been a very important piece to this puzzle. She could have been involved in the disappearance of Sheha along with a unidentified party who was never mentioned in the police investigation. This gives strong indication as to why this woman was never found or stepped forward. Is she was involved as this could have been a crime of passion! A three way gone wrong which resulted in this woman or the third unidentified party maybe the woman husband or lover killing Sheha. And the reason as why the woman on video was ever identified or tracked down as she could have escape justice and fled back to foreign land! U have to consider this possible given that when you view the video of Sheha and this mysterious woman! She do not look american born so it's possible that this woman have not been tracked down as the reason as her and the other unidentified party left the United States and fled back to their home State. Or my last theory that makes a lot more sense is that Sheha may have been a victim of a serial killer. Considering that In 2001 she disappeared under very suspicious circumstances doing the heart of the then unknown long island serial killer, who was abducting and killing women thru out the state of New York. I personally don't believe Sneha ran away (you'd need a lot of planning for that and it doesn't seem like she'd planned for it) but it's intriguing as, from what I have gathered, the items she bought on that day were never found either. She didn't go home that day, so where did she go? I think foul play is equally likely unfortunately, as any evidence of foul play in another area would have likely gone amiss if it was in close proximity to the WTC. So you have two (likely) options - 1) She died when the towers collapsed after attempting to assist but spent the night of September 10th elsewhere (and left her purchases there also? Although I can see unclaimed shopping being overlooked in the chaos) 2) She met with foul play as she headed home from her shopping and the crime scene/evidence was lost or overlooked in the aftermath of the collapse. Additionally, was her husband's card ever found? She had it on her and I'm assuming he didn't immediately cancel it in case he'd be able to track further purchases on it and possibly lead to Sneha? As it's not mentioned I presume it was never used again after September 10th?

She did not spend the night of Sept 10th with her brother or her cousin. Evidence that she even came back to the apartment on Sept 11th is insufficient. If she was smart, she would have avoided ground zero. If she was going to ground zero to assist, why did she not inform her husband or a family member? When she heard about the attack, why did she not call her husband? What you have presented leads one to the conclusion that she was either abducted or ran away the night of Sept 10th. A puzzling case. Two questions immediately jump to mind: what is the evidence Sneha really was at the WTC when the terror attacks happened and why didn't she come back home that night? Wouldn't it be more logical to think something happened to her at the time she didn't return home after her shopping. The presenter says it wasn't unusual for her to spend the night at the relative's house, but neatly omits to mention if they questioned the relatives about her whereabouts that night. It is very unlikely she tried to fake her own death; it is more likely she met some sort of foul play after her shopping.

This video is problematic because it seems to be carrying the propaganda torch on behalf of the family, downplaying the significance of Dr. Phillips' nighttime activities. I'm seeing many many comments asking the same question: "why didn't she come back home?" This says to me this video didn't do enough of a job explaining the whole picture adequately. I've read several articles about this case, and basically Dr. Phillips was, by 9/11, going out all night a lot, usually to lesbian bars, and not making any effort to check in with her husband. There's a particularly bizarre beat in this video where the narrator seems to suggest that Dr. Phillips was going to LGBTQ bars primarily so she couldn't be hit on? This is absurd because she was obviously quite attractive and I can't imagine the lesbians and/or bi-women _weren't going_ to hit on her in their own bars. Dr. Phillips was almost certainly bisexual, maybe even outright gay, and her marriage was essentially a mess. I'm paraphrasing because it's been a while since I read about this case, but I remember reading that their marriage was in serious trouble. This is why she didn't come home. She didn't give a damn. People are also wondering why she didn't bring the bags home. Part of her shopping spree involved lingerie; my guess is it was almost certainly not meant for....her husband (I also suspect she didn't want him to know exactly how much she'd spent....) To be fair, IT'S POSSIBLE she was murdered September 10th, without a body anything's possible, but I'm personally pretty convinced, when she saw what was happening downtown, she reverted back to her training and did what she could to help. Which is likely why no one's seen her since. Unfortunately.

She was suspended from her new job for failure to meet with her substance abuse counselor, which had been a requirement of her being hired. The rules were not for her. A tad ignorant and bias in this video. No one has any solid proof where she ended up. It was in the families interest to push the 9/11 theory as they would receive a large payout. I doubt strongly that was Sneha in the video at the lift. It's highly unlikely she would forget ALL of her shopping bags....one maybe but not multiple. The marriage doesn't seem solid either. Going out at night, not returning and not notifying her husband on more than one occasion is troublesome. Something untoward could just as likely have happened to her after her shopping spree and before 9/11.

Sneha's struggles with alcohol and other aspects of her life are treated so lightly in this documentary, it does not take any special powers of observation to come to the conclusion that her life may well have been falling apart and spiraling out of control rapidly, I am surprised by her husband's attitude to her spending night's out and staying away from home, if we are to believe it he was totally at ease with her living like this, even as a viewer I feel extremely uncomfortable knowing that she was out at all hours and the idea that she knew what she was doing ,could spot trouble and take care of herself fall apart as soon as you take into account her drinking problem, the whole thing seems to be steered toward her being a hero during 9/11 but it is hard for me to imagine any individual no matter what their medical skills and training may be rushing into such a horrific scene, I obviously do not know what happened to Sneha but the possibilities remain wide open as far as I can ascertain.

While her habits of drinking to excess and staying out all night have [understandably] been downplayed by her husband and family, they are extremely problematic and indicative of an individual not happy in their life or marriage. Additionally, according to The Charley Project, she purchased _over $500 worth_ of lingerie, in addition to the dress, shoes, and bed linens. While it's _possible_ the lingerie was intended for use at home, her behavior didn't seem to indicate it was. And to top it off, there's no reason her home computer would have evidence of researching how to start a new life if the plans were being made with and at the residence of the person with whom she was spending those nights away from home. The idea that Sneha left with no money, no ID, no medical credentials to start a new life is slightly preposterous. How on earth would she begin a new life with no money? I believe she either died as the towers fell because it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for a trained doctor to want to help and at the time no one could even imagine the towers were going to fall as they did. Or she did meet with foul play and the 9/11 attacks was a coincidence that made it easy to hide the body and all evidence. The chaos of that day, especially in that area of Manhatten, was insane. I remember this case from Unsolved Mysteries and over the years have read about it more in depth here and there. I will say CCD drawing their conclusion as that of the husband and families is surprising to me..(I expected there to be an open conclusion for the viewers to decide) anyhow…picturing her just running into danger like some sort of battle field nurse may be better saved for a movie script . She was a medical doctor not a panicked stranger looking to help. A medical doctor knows running directly into public danger (that large) is not going to save many lives when it can result in them losing their life..Also I would assume she would run to help and then maybe run back out trying to help as many as possible. Not just help 1 person & then die right there. She was clearly going though a crisis even though she never lost her medical license I’m sure losing her job would be very difficult to explain to her parents (especially her father) who I’m sure she wanted to make proud. While we like to talk about the many hero’s of 9/11 there were also many 9/11 hero fakers…Im sure her family wanted her to die a hero but there just simply is not enough conclusive evidence to prove that. Her reputation as a person and medical doctor does not automatically merit her a hero.

I'm sure she was under a ton of stress. She wanted to be an artist yet followed in her father footsteps. My experience with Indian families are that they really push their children to pursue careers the family feels are appropriate regardless of what the child wants. I hope she is living somewhere painting and happy but I'm pretty sure she passed in the world trade centers.

You're on point there. The same thought occurred to me, in that her alcoholism could've been attributed to either job stress or disillusionment on her career choice, or both. In regard to choice of careers, it's much worse for Indian men than women. In Sneha's case, I reckon she would have probably done it to please her father, and not necessarily because she was forced into it. But then again, you get to see all kinds.

I'm a NYer who was in kindergarten that day, and I still have vivid memories of the event and am perfectly willing to discuss that day, as is every other NYer I know. If Sneha had left her shopping bags on the train or in a cab, someone would have remembered seeing it. Anyone she stayed the night with, even in anonymous sense, would have remembered. The unsubstantiated reasoning for what it was Sneha in that lobby is completely asinine. The fact of the matter is that there's no proof whatsoever that she was at ground zero. Hers is a case that has no proof that points in ANY direction. This video'sn inclusion seems like an obvious bid to agree with the family at all costs. The fact of the matter is that the proof that is asserted in this video doesn't exist.
@KhukuriGod Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's like CCD got silently sponsored by Sneha's family. The whole case looks fishy as hell. There's a good possibility she met with foul play. Given that possibility, people should be on the lookout for possible perpetrators rather than just lazily concluding that she died on 9/11.

Lots of speculation on this one but Occam's Razor says she met up with the wrong person in a bar after shopping and that was it. It is easier for her family to accept this theory. The husband too. For thee narrator to say this without substantial evidence, is strange. Saying that she couldn't have been murdered because she was used to staying out late and partying with strangers is weird logic. It takes only one bad guy in one particular place at one particular time to commit a murder, without any reference at all to anything that may have happened before until that particular point in time. That is the nature of happenstance and caprice. ps: at 9:33 it clearly says the husband's cellphone was pinged at 4 am from a phone line INSIDE the apartment, and that Sneha was the only other person with access to the apartment. That would mean she was inside the apartment at that time to have made that missed call. So surely there is CCTV footage of her having entered the apartment building and leaving it at that time? What was the followup on that? But then again, if she was inside the apartment, why would she give her sleeping hubby a missed call?

From what I've seen here and the segment on Unsolved Mysteries, there's really no hard evidence let alone proof that Sneha was even in the area on the night of the 10th or the morning of the 11th. Plus, if she went shopping before (supposedly) going out for the night then where did she sleep? Where's the stuff she bought? The CCTV of a woman (that can't even be positively identified) at the apartment doesn't really hold water for me since she should have had those shopping bags with her if they were indeed for the house and herself. Especially the linens. Also, on the UM segment it states that the store clerk recognized Sneha as a regular customer and saw her with another Indian woman. She asked Sneha if the woman was a sister, and Sneha told her the woman was just a friend. So when Ron went back and re-examined the store footage (which they show you in the segment), it did appear as though there was a lady standing near her at the exit in such a way that it could appear as though they were spending time together, but admittedly that's still debatable. So if the clerk knew Sneha I don't think she was mistaken on who she spoke to, which begs the question: Was the clerk lying about the conversation, was Sneha lying about her connection to this unknown woman, or was there some other misunderstanding/miscommunication at play here? Personally, I think it's feasible that she did her shopping, came to meet foul play sometime that night and was possibly kidnapped and brought elsewhere. It would explain no body or her belongings from the day she disappeared being found anywhere in NY at the time, and why no one she knew heard from her or saw her after the shopping trip.
@annabellelee4535 Жыл бұрын
I think she ran away with her lover and her husband is just opportunistic. Do you really think Sneha would have told a casual acquaintance that the woman was her lover? No, one would say "friend". She had a history of not coming home and for going to gay bars.

If Sneha was at ground zero, where was she on Sept 10th after shopping at Century21? Did she stay out all night and morning alone? Then decide to help during the attacks? It doesn't sound plausible. Why would she have something to do with it? How very rude. The woman was murdered or killed by something sinister. It just doesn't make sense she wouldn't be home with her belongings the night before that fateful day of the 11th. The NYPD and other detectives have skipped an entire night. She goes shopping and that's it? No phone call to her family or Husband? No check in at her home to feed the cats, spend time with her Husband etc Was she on the run? Due to her past addictive drug problems and the abuse she endured? My heart goes out to Ron and the Family of poor Sneha, smeared with a dirty brush 🖌️ and cast aside. How awful. I don't believe she went to the TT that day. Where did she spend the night? No one has come forward to say she was with them? It's not likely she left her shopping items at a strangers house. The odds of her being at the restaurant at the top of the TT would be astronomical. She was either killed after meeting someone at one of those clubs or she walked away. The problem with that is if she is ever arrested her fingerprints will ID her. It is a shame no matter what happened. Where was her husband (it's usually always the spouse). He could not have been okay with is wife spending the night at someone else's house all night. No way, not believing that statement.

AND her already being missing the day before, not swiping the credit card on the night of Sep 10th. (where did she stay, where did she go?) - just show's smth really bad must've happened to her on the same day/night. Her day was going absolute shit cos of her court hearing, maybe it pushed her to do smth bad, maybe she was an easier target that day, being more vulnerable, more broken? Maybe she went drinking on the same day to "cope" with her life and then something happened on her way home and that's why she never arrived? There's absolutely no supporting evidence she was around the WTC on Sep 11th, cos she'd been missing the day before. I believe it's easier to cope with a loved one to be written off as dead, than to go missing forever. Her family wanted her to be remembered as a hero, maybe so she won't face criticism for her (sometimes poor and dangerous) life choices. Personally I don't believe she ran off to restart a new life, I believe she is no more and something very sinister mustve happened and it's a shame that her family focused so much on erasing her past and clearing her name, rather than trynna find out what REALLY happened to her. My theory is she wandered into the ground zero area from a mix of morbid fascination and a willingness to help...

She wouldn't be able to do anything at ground zero. It's way more likely something nefarious happened or she ran off. There is nothing to connect to her to ground zero other than assumption

Same, absolutely fascinating since nothing quite makes sense. I lean more toward her getting killed on Sept 10th evening. Reason: not a soul saw her on Sept 11th morning nor were her bags ever found. If she was, in fact, at the Towers that means she would have spent the night somewhere but no evidence of that exists.

@Angela who would kill her tho? Even her friends think she just ran away and started a new life

@@billblaski9523 - people get abducted and murdered all the time. Could have been a stranger. Could have been a shifty cab driver. Could have been someone she knew and had an argument with. Who knows? Crazy stuff happens in this city every day.

Hi! Yes, I’ve been following Sneha’s case for years, it’s very perplexing. Which podcast are you referring to? I’d like to check it out too!
