You know what really gets me in this entire situation? A team who never properly settled their internal conflicts from the Renault era went on to pick one of the most conflictual drivers in existence to race for them, and now that everything's in the mud, Bruno Famin, team principal of Alpine, comes out and says they know what they're looking for in a driver - _Professionalism matters. We need professional drivers._ It's like I'm watching a company in a hiring spree. They want the best, while offering a mediocre environment for growth in the sport.

I wouldn't say Gasley is conflictual driver, at least looking to his past. I have long time felt like Ocon is poisoning team relations everywhere he goes. There aint many team mates that have good things to say about him, lets just leave it at that. Alpine seat should be considered more valuable though. It is still works team, although worst one at the moment and near future. I would rate it higher than Williams & Haas seats in longer run as there are not many non works teams that have won titles. Like mclaren dropped quite fast once Mercedes bought their own team. If i were Bottas I would definitely try to get that seat. Both driver and team are at the moment under-rated. Same reasoning why Sainz should go to Sauber. They will be works team, and I would expect serious boost in 2026. 28-29 they could easily be in frontend, which I don't expect from Williams. Audi can throw 200M a year for F1 and call it marketing expense, while Williams would have to find sponsors for that 200M or what ever the cost cap is.

For now, Gasly-Doohan is the lineup, I assume, based on likelihood & status within the team, respectively. All that testing program Doohan has done this year would prove useless if he weren't going to get a drive anyway, especially since the sole purpose with such tests is to prepare for racing in F1, not to mention they'd risk losing him altogether, as happened with Piastri. Magnussen's days of being an F1 driver are clearly numbered, just like Sargeant's, so he'll almost certainly end up without a drive if/when he gets sacked by Haas again rather than get hired by any other team, & likewise, Zhou is very likely to end up without a drive for next season. As for Bottas, Williams & Haas are his only realistic options depending on Sainz & Ocon while staying put at Team Hinwill is indeed an outside chance if they fail to get either Sainz or Ocon.

While there might be a point with Hamilton (You can take that issue up with Elkan since he's the guy that made the move to get Vasseur and likely to get Newey as well), issue with Perez is ten-fold. That guy's presence ALONE sells out the Mexican Grand Prix (which in itself is a benefit for F1 as well). He also brings huge financial backing AND he's marketable for Red Bull's Latin American Market. So getting rid of him wouldn't be a easy decision, especially since there appear to be NO young Mexican drivers on the F1 latter to replace him. As for Antonelli, Mercedes finally stopped being delusional and realized they aren't winning races anytime soon anyhow so why not just put in a young driver for the long haul.

Andretti doesn’t have the money to buy a billion dollar team… they wanted in with 200mill… and GM, their engine supplier, doesn’t want to supply any engine until 2028….

Come on Edd, you can't say that Mick hasn't done anything outstanding for Alpine in the WEC, he was carrying that piece of hypercrap to a really good result before it blew up. Give the kid some slack

Alpine just needs to sell the team to Andretti and see if GM and Ilmor can buy out and fix the Renault engine program.

Ocon would be a perfect fit for Audi, most Audi drivers around here drive like him, cutting people up and causing accidents.

I know nobody really care, but for some reason, the f1 design that got me hooked was alpines itself, sure they may not be the best in terms of their car but just the unique color combination sets it apart from the other teams.

Gasly’s a great driver, but he’ll lose his mind soon if Alpine continues performing like this, so I think he and Alpine would both be wise to move on from each other (Gasly to Sauber/Audi isn’t a bad idea, or HAAS either for that matter). What Alpine needs is two drivers that are hungry for the chance to driver in F1, are willing to put in hard work even if the payoff isn’t there in the short term, and who will work good together as a team. Those two drivers are Mick Schumacher and Jack Doohan.

alonso and piastri working so hard to extricate themselves from that team was very telling. probably some very significant internal staff/ structural problems that, unlike e.g. Williams now or Mclaren previously, the team is still unable/ unwilling to face up to, let alone start on the road to doing anything about it

I'll take the drive, I'm busy in the week and Saturdays, but Sunday is good for me if we can do practice and qualifying in the morning and race in the afternoon. Money is not that important, a few points of cider and a cornish pasty after the race along with petrol money, is all thats needed. Let me know👍

If an Alpine junior DOESN'T get a drive at the main team, then I'd say that program is most farcical junior program aside from Red Bull. They haven't promoted a junior driver to the main team in 15 years. Romain Grojean was the last academy driver to successfully go through the tree and drive for the main Renault/Alpine. Let that sink in.

Red Bull has provided the whole grid with drivers over their 20years in F1…. And currently Carlos, Pierre, Alex are still driving in F1 at other teams… RB DOES BRING IN THE TALENT IN F1!!!
