Rita Montesalvo...you are absolutely correct. The caliber of people and film making are not even the same. The most recent film which I saw at the AMC theater was Downtown Abbey: A New Era. The only reason it was a good film and story is because it was a period piece set in 1929-30. Costumes and acting were great. I do recommend.

The best way to laugh. Simple , plain humor. This came out before I was born and yet, timeless. Probably a little risqué at the time it came out. Fun, very entertaining movie! I was born in 1948, so I just missed this! lol They don't make movies/tv shows with talking dogs or horses i.e. the iconic "Mr Ed" anymore! Long live the Golden Age of Hollywood, the 1920s,30s, 40s and 50s, one of my favorite eras esp fashion wise which influenced my career as a former retired NYC fashion illustrator. Thank you PizzaFix!

Me too My best friend is my fur baby Baxter. He snuggles close to me because he loves me, no matter what and he listens to me complain and sympathy’s with me, and when I leave to go somewhere, when I return he meets the car half way up the road and follows the car until it stops and he can hop up into the car and lick my face in greeting. 😋😋😋🐶🐶🐶However, there’s a down size to this too. He watches and the minute he knows that I won’t be back for a little while, he goes tearing back into our bedroom and turns the waste paper basket and starts messing around in it for some to eat or to lick. And some of the things he finds are really yucky 🤢. He definitely knows that this is a no no, so he knows this is a great opportunity. I can see him standing in the door watching me leave and I know exactly what he’ll do and exactly what I’ll find I’ll find when I get home. 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐕🦺🐕🦺🐕🦺🐕🦺

Great little film - extremely enjoyable. Thanks for putting it on! It's amazing how, some things then, taken as 'different' or 'odd', are looked on now as just plain normal - as they should be in this case. For instance, considering a pet as much more than that, but as a lifesaver or life changer! Awesome!

Thank you so very much, PizzaFlix, for sharing this little treasure! And especially, for not colorizing it. Classics should always be presented as they were originally presented, whether black and white, sepia, or color, movie or still. I always loved 'offbeat' movies like this, with a 'Joe' or a 'Rhubarb'. I was born 2 years after this movie came out, and I'd only seen it before on The Early Show, and The Late Show; looong-ago tv shows featuring older movies. Thank you again! (happily subscribed!)

My sister once had a parakeet she named Gordon and she taught him to talk. He talked so clearly that anyone could understand what he was saying. She taught him to say Birds can’t talk. My name’s Gordon and I’m a bird. Also, sweet bird gimme a kiss 💋 pin up the biddies, he was quite a character. I remember one time when my sister’s neighbor went on vacation and she left her parakeet for my sister to keep while she was gone. Both birds had the run of the house. They had cages but the cages were left open during the day. The neighbors bird was on the curtain rod in the kitchen and Gordon was chasing it across the curtain rod saying sweet bird, come here, gimme a kiss 🐤. Of course, he didn’t know what he was saying but it was so funny 😂 😅

Who ever trained Joe was a genius. I couldn’t even get my Baxter baby to fetch back to me. He would go get it but only bring it back a little way back. So see, he had trained me instead of the other way around. He had trained me to fetch. He died about 6 months ago and I sure miss the little guy. 🐶🐶🐶His real name was Baxter but he barked so much at every little thing that he saw or heard that I often called him Sir Barksalot. He barked when he heard my stomach growl 🐯 and he’d bark when the doorbell rang in the movie 🍿 that I was watching. 😅😅😅😅
