The Facility - Scene in Unreal Engine 5.0 EA

'Thank you for joining us.'
The Facility is a part of a concept I've been playing around with in my head for a long time. The echoes of our future's past sound through the halls and lobby's of The 'Eden' Facility.
In this project I wanted to focus more on lighting with lumen in Unreal Engine 5, and I wanted to do this with very basic shapes. There is nothing complex about the shapes with which I modeled the facility. I wanted to have these very big interior scenes that were only lit by daylight since the facility has been abandoned for ages.
I also worked with the blendmaterials from quixel again to create a more organic and repetition-breaking look for the concrete walls and floors.

Hi Sam, binge watching all your content with my mouth wide open 😮😅 I am learning UE5 and struggling to get cinematic renders, is there any good place for tutorials that you would recommend, I really want to make renders like you, from where did you learned UE5 ? Practice makes perfect, man! Just create a lot of things and you will get better every time. If you want to learn some things about getting it more cinematic I'd recommend you to check out William Faucher's channel, he shares a LOT of cool tips and tricks!

Got a lot of jobs at the moment so I don't really have the time for a demo, but I can assure you that all these shots run at a smooth 80-90fps speed on a rtx 3090

UE5 is at LoveDeath&Robots quality, it's pretty insane now... I feel like I'm not taking advantage of it. lol

I think UE5 can produce even better quality than displayed in Love, Death + Robots, but the software is only 50% of the way there.. your own creativity and knowledge of art direction does half the job

​@@samgielen - Ue5 isn't on par with a final render in Maya but it's close enough to ditch Maya, that's for sure. and yeah, art direction is definitely key to good renders in any software.

I don't get it, this could literally be any game engine. There's nothing here that takes advantage of nanite or lumen.

I also didn't claim to be using nanite or lumen in a special way here, just creating it in UE5. However, the lighting is all done with lumen and it is an immense difference compared to UE4's way of lighting.

I'll admit that lumen makes things easier but there's nothing shown here that can't be done in unreal engine 4 (albeit with a little more effort required). You really need to take advantage of nanite to properly showcase how amazing lumen in.

agree...feel that caused it to lose detail and realism. the plants still look fake. but OP did mention he's playing around with the lighting.

@@Wyzzkyd Thanks for the feedback, guys. Even though I like an overexposed look sometimes, I guess the last shot in particular is a little too bright. Still playing around with Lumen in UE5

Yeah, Lumen seems quite tricky to get just right. Still great.
