About The Facts of Life: At the Eastland School in Peekskill, New York, Edna Garrett (Charlotte Rae) oversees the day-to-day lives of students who come from all walks of life. Under the care of this slightly nutty but always caring housemother is the beautiful, rich and spoiled Blair Warner (Lisa Whelchel); the witty, plump and impressionable Natalie Green (Mindy Cohn); Dorothy “Tootie” Ramsey (Kim Fields), the young and persistent campus gossip; and Joanna “Jo” Polniaczek (Nancy McKeon), a Bronx-born and bred streetwise kid whose tough exterior masks the brains and compassion she's hiding underneath. Whether it's the challenges posed by Eastland's academic and social scenes, the rise, fall and rebirth of the businesses they start and run together, or the comings and goings of new faces in school and town, including Edna's replacement (and sister) Beverly Ann Stickle (Cloris Leachman), the girls are always ready for a new challenge, and perceptive enough to learn from each new situation.

If I remember Tootie's performance in "South Pacific" in an earlier episode, she also needed to brush up on her acting and singing. No wonder her mother wanted her to go to law school.

The world we live in today is full of "tootie's" which is why I'm an introvert. People don't want to hear the truth.
@ChrisC709
@ChrisC709 2 жыл бұрын
A lot of times the "truth" is not actually the "truth." It's just an opinion. And Natalie's was an opinion. Nothing she said can be proven "factual" based on her critique. And if you watch this whole episode, Natalie usually writes Tootie's plays every year and every year they lost. But Natalie was sore that Tootie wanted to write her play herself and didn't ask Natalie to write her play for this particular year. So that had a lot to do with why Natalie was so critical of her. Natalie wasn't involved in writing the play and she didn't think Tootie was good enough to do it.

@@ChrisC709 Not trying to start a war, but you are incorrect. Tootie asked for an OPINION....Natalie's opinion. Tootie never asked for facts. Therefore, if Natalie did not like Tootie's work, that would be Natalie's "truth" which is exactly what Tootie asked for. If you ask me if I like your shoes, and I said "no, I don't like your shoes" I don't have to prove anything because you asked me for an opinion, NOT a fact. If you get offended by my answer, then you are offended by my TRUTH. If people don't want someone else's opinion (their truth) they should'nt ask for it.
@ChrisC709

@@everythingisaprocess I don't really care about your answer in the sense I would be offended. It ain't that serious to me. lol But yes I am going to call out your initial comment because I don't agree it. Your second explanation has absolutely NOTHING to do with YOUR initial comment. You said people don't want to hear the "truth" and this wasn't about what was true. This was about Natalie's opinion. You obviously don't know the difference between truth and opinion. Truth is in accordance with fact or reality and accurate and exact. Opinion is a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. If you don't know the difference between the two then it is YOU who need to go back to school or read a book. Explaining what happened during the episode does not change the fact that your initial statements or generalizations are not true.
