This doesn't get said enough - Captain America movies (First Avenger and Winter Soldier) had the best/fastest route ever at getting audiences to care for two 'so-called' side characters. Bucky breaking up the alley fight and Sam saying 'It's your bed, right?'. 20 seconds it's all that it took. And here we are...

I love how Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are two actors that are REALLY DAMN GOOD on their own, but their chemistry together, just as _people,_ is TOP NOTCH. There is a reason they were always paired up with each other in interview brackets and keep buddying up at red carpet events. I feel like that is 70% the reason they got a show together because the suits were like "we gotta capitalize on this." And I'm so glad they seem to have a really character-focused direction and development of their internal growth.
@glennwelsh9784

I read that Stan would always be really quiet and reserved during interviews and media junkets, but Mackie just has a way of getting him to open up. That's why they were always paired up.

I think if Sam is to show up and immediately puts on the Cap costume and shield it would’ve been jarring. It’s a great move to have a show that follows the transition, assuming he will eventually become Cap.
@GeeklyGoods

Completely agree! Surely this will go the same way as WandaVision in that he will make that full transition throughout the series. If he just took the shield instantly it wouldn't show the development he has to go through to finally feel like the shield is his.

Gave me some crazy flashbacks. I cut the game out of my life a year and a half ago (one of the best decisions I made) and this was the first mention I'd heard since then. Doesn't surprise me though. Jeremy does strike me as someone who, if he doesn't play MTG, definitely hangs out with other people while they do.

@NakAlienEd
@NakAlienEd 3 жыл бұрын
@@DraconiaDrawing It was a huge time-sink for me, and playing gave me constant low-level anxiety. I was also the last of my close circle to keep playing, so at the end, I mostly played with randos online or in the card shop, so there wasn't any camaraderie while playing. I realized 90% of why I played was because it gave me an excuse to hang out with my buddies. Quitting MTG gave me more time with friends and less time building decks which would only get played with randos.

So far these Marvel shows are really showing the emotional depth of these actors of some of the smaller Avengers. RDJ and Chris Evans had their moments in the movies and their solo ones. These shows are essentially the solo movies for the smaller characters but have more time to tell their story. I'm loving regardless. Elizabeth Olsen, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Paul Bettany are all doing great so far.

I've said this before - there's enough meat on Bucky's story in terms of his grief, guilt and a difficult path self forgiveness and redemption that they easily could have given him a solo series or movie. He makes a very compelling character - a more grounded and relatable Batman, if you will. However, this does not mean I have issues with Falcon and him being together in a series. They'd be crazy not to take advantage of the insane chemistry they both have with each other, partly due to their real life friendship. It's a great start with so much to look forward to.
