As a Packer fan , he brought us back to being relevant . Every game he played in was exciting , both good and bad . I realize Favre was human , from his pain killer addiction to his off the field exploits , but between the hashmarks , he was ‘ da Man ‘ . Footballs answer to Pete Rose .

Gerry Glanville was a big ego, despicable human being who encouraged some of his players to do dirty hits.

As a Packer fan I think he was the greatest coach in the history of the league. He thought Brett Favre was a joke and made the Packers relevant for a very long time. Thank you, Jerry.

Glanville was an unusual coach. I don’t remember any real proof of him paying bounties for players. His actions though make the accusations believable. Glanville had good reason to want Favre out. Favre also got lucky and it’s possible Glanville shipped him out for his on good. Favre liked the nightlife in Atlanta which is fine except on Sunday mornings of game days. It was clear Glanville wasn’t ready to start him so I guess Favre figured it didn’t matter. It did matter though when he could be seen at 3am on game day.

@@grt49er Never knew about the nightlife problem. Interesting. Chuck Noll had a problem with dirty hits when Glanville coached the Oilers and confronted him after a game.

Favre has also shown a lot of leadership after he retired. No one can get politicians to divert welfare funds to build volleyball stadiums like he can.

Ahhh Brett….I’m not going to say anything about what you’re hated for in the present. I don’t know anything about it, at least not enough to comment. I will say that those were some fun times being a young boy outside of Milwaukee watching you play for so long. Also kept me entertained, win or lose.
