The line at around 20 minutes in this episode, make me laugh so much, not because it mentions my namesake, but I think it is so good “Norris asked me if I could continue to write my witty house ads, I said you can stick your house ads up your fully integrated, exceptionally spacious back passage!” What a writer David Nobbs, and what a cast, of course with the late Leonard Rossiter, such a brilliant actor, so missed, there are so few around today who can even come near his brilliance.

ugh. new Tom..horrible when they attempt to substitute another actor to play a part you're long-familiar with. it would have been better if they'd killed Tom off with a miscalculated ingredient in one of his goofy wine concoctions or had him move off to Australia...

What a shame Tim Preece wasn't in series 3. He played the nerdy, pompous prig to perfection. Leslie Schofield's character was just a boring person. He totally failed to capture the wonderful character Tim Preece had created, and he had no character of his own to offer.

Replacement Tom is too sympathetic a character and actor. Original Tom we loved to hate for being 'toxic', priggish and funny because of it.
