He’s an insanely famous genius billionaire but he’s also relatable and accessible. Even Stan Lee described the character of Tony Stark as someone “you’re supposed to hate but you end up loving nonetheless.” In order to achieve that the role of Tony Stark has to be portrayed in an effortlessly cool, charming, humane and authentic way. Not everyone could’ve pulled that off but RDJ certainly did. That’s mainly because he brought a lot of his own personality and story into the character (Tony Stark used to be different before RDJ’s took on the role). So the Tony Stark millions of people love is basically just RDJ at this point, hence why no one could’ve done it like him.
