Shack, you do realize that the black sun doesn't have shipyards in space, but instead have planetary buildings that allow them to make their ships? This basicly means that you can't really know where they're producing their vessels, and major shipyard planets are not more likely to be used by them for that reason.

The saber lowered as he clipped it back to the hilt. "You killed a group of terrorists, what makes you worthy of the title of Mandalore?" Came a voice, Clan Varad's representative, "You have not seen war, you have not seen battle." "Clan Ordo has fought valiantly for Mandalore for years, while some remain drowning in their sorrows I have led Clan Ordo to be warriors once more." Cassus nodded, "Many of my men fell against the overwhelming force of the Black Sun when they first invaded years ago, but we stand together still and unified. I wish to spread this unification to the rest of Mandalore. I wish to reunite the clans like my ancestor, Mandalore the Preserver, did." "And what of our culture? Will you preserve it as you promised us on Concord Dawn?" Came a voice of the representative of Clan Vizsla, "How do we know you will not bend the knee to the New Republic or any faction that comes to our world?" Cassus moved to his satchel, and the clanking of metal could be heard as the mask of Mandalore the Preserver came from his helm, "Tradition is everything, and there are many clans that do not wish to follow such traditions." He took a breath, "Clan Ralax stole this mask from my family years ago. When Mandalore the Preserver died and power began to collapse in on itself, the mask was stolen from our family. In the battle against the Black Sun, many villages were destroyed but among the many that I visited was Clan Ralax's. In the ruins, I found this mask on a pedestal. A relic of my family stolen from the hands of it." There was a silence in the crowd, murmuring at first came once more as the fifteen clans that wished for freedom on Mandalore came. Many remained silent, the revealing of the mask drew what was at first suspicion, and now disgust. A voice came, "And how can we trust you? What have you done since the Republic came to Mandalore other than move to see the destruction?" "I fought on the frontlines with the rest of Mandalore." Cassus spoke clearly, "I led my men through the streets of Keldabe and secured the Oyu'baat first and foremost while the rest of the New Republic only destroyed. This building was saved by my clan, I have fought for this world numerous times. I find it only right that through what I have done, I be named Mandalore. Any who challenge may challenge me as they like...but I ask that you challenge me with the idea in your mind of what I have done." Silence again, then another voice, "Clan Farr will support your cause to be Mandalore." "As will Clan Lok." Came the older man that had once questioned Cassus. "And Clan Varad. We wish to reclaim this world for what it was, a home for warriors." "Clan Cadera will stand by you with what loyalty and honor we have, Mandalore." "Clan Chorn stands by your side, Mandalore. Lead us to victory." "Clan Sharratt will stand by you, we must regain our lost honor." "As will Clan Sornell! Although we are small, this path seems only right." He had many more clans to convince, but for now he had proven his place among those that wanted a free Mandalore. The mask of Mandalore was placed on his helm and he spoke clearly, "Then my claim has been made. With your support, I will do my best to truly lead. For Mandalore!" "For Mandalore!" Came the crowd of clans. *Finally, the true plan that Cassus Ordo had made would come to pass. The Darksaber was his, his grandfather's mask was his, and now he finally could begin his work toward becoming Mandalore. The idea of Everin Shel's new Empire was a thought of the past, though he felt a disturbance that was all too familiar. It would have to wait as he nodded to the clans and gathered his supporters. They had work to begin.* (So uh...this was supposed to be story number 2, however it seems KZbin has marked my first comment as spam. Hopefully Captain Shack sees it in the whole KZbin profile thing but it's a low chance of that happening. Recap of what happened in story 1: Darren fights in battle of Carida, he's captured by his father's forces in a trap on the Valor Station, he watches his friends and squadmates die in front of him and is slowly giving into the Dark Side. Shack, I don't think you realize this, but the Tuscan fighter squadron, one of black sun's main fighter, cannot be killed by anything other then missiles. So X-wing or Y-wing will get destroyed by those. Only a sworm of missile have a chance of killing them. So blockade runner cannot do anything about the fighter. Only A-wing and the gunship have a chance.

Shack i think you should make it an objective to destroy the imperial shipyards at Bilbringi, the empire most likely has their final capital ship production facility there along with most of there remaining heroes. In legends the battle of Bilbringi was one of the last major battles of the galactic civil war and thrawns last stand it would be cool to see you recreate that with the liberation taking charge!!!! Love this series and cant wait for the empire to annihilate the rebel scum

If you hadn't already gone down with your ship when their Starkiller Base blew away the Jedi Temple you were defending on Ilum, I think you would have been not only demoted but jailed for how you ignored their threat.

Ion cannons DO work on fighter squadrons. It won't kill them, though, just slow take down their shields, then slow them down and slow their rate of fire. They do seem to destroy IPVs/Gozantis/Braha'toks. Hey Shack, you know if you have overwhelming odds in a fight, the enemy will try to retreat. So by bringing in like 4+ capital ships, there's no way that small forces will stay. BTW You can build Hapan Battledragons at Hapes now.

28:04 Again, they run because the AI knows they're outmatched. They won't go into a fight that has the odds stacked against them. That's why you need to set a fleet leader. If it had been a single squad of A-wings leading the jump then everyone else followed, the Black Sun wouldn't have jumped out so fast. Also, the Hapans may still have a foothold on Alderaan and the Roche Asteroids.

I've been following this campaign since you started. It's been awesome! I gotta tell you though, the empire is not working. From the get go you can't make many ships, from the looks of things it's just ISD'S and some correllian ships. Maxed out the kdy ship yards and still couldn't build anything but ISD's. The Black Sun however, is completely fleshed out and works like a dream. Tons of ship types and ground units.

(Wow so uh...battle at Carida happened way earlier than I expected. But no worries! The stories will flow, plus this gives some more development with a less-than-stable Darren.) *Darren had spent weeks in the medbay, and finally the 21-B, T1-B, had given him his new arm. It was strange, the mechanics were there, but it felt soft and lifelike, as if he hadn't lost his arm in the first place. The memory of missing his arm still was firm in his mind, but a member of Blaze Squadron sprinted into the medbay and delivered a report, the New Republic Fleet was heading for Carida to liberate it at last. For a few moments, Darren sat there in awe, until he realized what this meant; it meant he was getting back on the field as soon as possible. As the ships made the jump out of hyperspace, the Liberation included, Darren was in the hangar bay in his uniform getting into an X-Wing. Engines fired up, and Darren launched quickly with the rest of his squadron. It seemed they had caught the force at Carida off guard as the X-Wings locked their S-Foils into attack position and formed up, Blaze Squadron was given the command to attack with a contingent of Gold Squadron against the Plasma Burst Satellite stations. Quickly the fighters were off and they had found their target, along with a defense group of several Starviper squadrons, and the assault was on. Darren felt excitement as he launched his assault on the station, handling the escort of fighters so that the Y-Wings could drop their payload. As handfuls of fighters came into view, red blaster fire came from the X-Wing's cannons slamming into the Starvipers and setting them off to explode. The ship's engines roared as they closed in on fleeing fighters and cleared them, for the first time in what seemed like ever Darren felt...happy to see the Black Sun die. As the ships exploded he returned to that each objective had been quickly handled. There was a small blip on his screen though, one of the few things that the New Republic had missed was a transport, without chiming in Darren set off to hunt down this transport fleeing from the field and soon it was in range. There was a pause until Darren flicked on the targeting computer and locked on to the Black Sun ship, sending twin torpedoes to slam into its engines and cause them to explode. A burst of red fire came from the cannons once more and soon the transport and its contents of soldiers was gone. The battle had ended as quickly as it began, Blaze Squadron was stationed with a GR-75 Transport to wait for further orders...and there was a disturbance. A calling to him that Darren felt unfamiliar to him.* "Blaze Leader, permission to investigate the sector? I...sense something." "You sense something? What's that supposed to mean, Blaze Three?" "Jedi thing...I'd like to investigate." "Well Jedi business isn't my strong suit, by all means. Permission granted, be back before 0600 hours." *Darren was gone, and followed the orbit of Carida for a time until he found an abandoned Republic station. The sensation only grew stronger as he reported in his location and docked inside. Blaster in hand and lightsaber on his belt, Darren felt uneasy walking these empty halls. It was only when the docking bay doors shut that Darren realized this was a trap, and his reflexes were too slow as he was struck with a stun bolt.* *Hours passed, and Darren awoke in a cell with stun cuffs on his wrists. He stared at them for a few moments, then glanced about the cell as a door opened. A dark robed man stood before him and signaled him to come with him. A group of tall Stormtroopers in their standard armor stood by his side as Darren was escorted down the hallway with this strange man.* "Where am I? Who are you? What is this place?" "All will be answered in time, young Jedi." The robed man responded as they walked, "Your questions will be answered by our leader." "What is the Empire doing on-..." Darren stopped himself and shook his head as the group approached an elevator, it went up through several floors until it reached its final destination. In front of Darren Shel now was what looked to be a war room that doubled as a throne room. A chair, much like those found in the offices of Governors, could be seen turned around staring at Carida's surface and in it sat a man wearing an imperial uniform. Darren was brought before the makeshift throne and the chair turned around, revealing a face that the Jedi had never thought he'd see again, "Dad?!" "Who is this boy, adviser?" Everin Shel spoke bluntly, not acknowledging his son, "Why have you brought him to my station?" "My lord, he is a Jedi and was part of the group of New Republic ships that attacked the Black Sun. This could be our moment to-..." "Silence. If the New Republic is here, they will find us soon, which means our operations on Carida have been slowed severely." He took a breath, "Recall the Retribution and its fleet, it is time they refuel and repair. We must evacuate." Darren looked dumbstruck as the conversation went on, "Father, what are you doing here? How did you find this place? Don't you recognize me? I'm your son!" Everin's brows furrowed as he stood up and snapped, "My son died for a group of terrorists that took control of a peaceful galaxy by brute force and the deaths of thousands! You are not my son, nor will you ever be him, take him away!" The robed man looked to Darren and nodded, "Yes, my lord." *Darren sat in his cell for what had seemed like days, but only had been a few hours, captured by the Imperial Remnant...this was the last thing he thought would happen. There he was, alone in a cell, what about Blaze Squadron? What about the preparations for invasion? What was he going to do? These questions raced through his mind as he sat and tried to focus, only finding more and more confusion and doubt in himself. He clutched his head in his hands as the door opened once more.* "Come, boy, there is something I must show you." The robed man spoke clearly. "I..." Darren frowned, knowing there was nothing that could be done, "I won't tell you anything." "It isn't an interrogation. Come." Darren begrudgingly followed, he was escorted once more by two Stormtroopers, and soon he found himself in a windowed portion of the station, "What is it you wish to show me?" "The futile nature of rebelling, of bringing the rebellion here, that your cause is worth nothing." The robed man spoke clearly, "The distress beacon on your X-Wing has alerted your squadron. All communications will be jammed...but you will hear every word of what they have to say." Darren's eyes widened as he saw a group of X-Wings approached the station, he heard questioning. "Where is he?" "The station, head for the station." "Blaze Three are you there? Blaze Three, copy? Blaze Three, come in." The robed man spoke again, "They hold out hope for you, boy, now watch it all die." Several ships came from hyperspace sending off turbolaser fire into the group of X-Wings patrolling the station trying to find Darren. The screams of panic and the crying out as the pilots realized how futile the effort to escape would be was all that Darren could hear. He clutched his ears with cuffed hands and he murmured, "No...no no no no no, please don't let this be real." Tears welled in his eyes and he heard choking...the rampage was done, the X-Wing pilots were gone. His friends, his squadmates that he had been separated from for so long were dead and all he could do was scream, "No!" The sound of choking intensified until two sickening crunches could be heard as the Stormtroopers that had escorted him were laying on the ground, lifeless. "Yes! Yes, my boy, they are dead. Embrace it, let that hate drive your actions. Return him to his cell!" *Another stun blast, and Darren awoke again in the cell. He broke down in tears finding no hope, no comfort, only his anger and the darkness of this station.* (In the land invasion of Carida, this will continue. Another story for Mandalore will be coming out soon!)

You mentioned ion cannons hitting starfighters at around the 24 minute mark. Corran Horn is grazed by a interdictor ion cannon in the first X-Wing Novel and it crippled his fighter. So yeah ion cannons are very effective if you hit a fighter.

In almost 10 years of GM'ing, I found out that, especially for massed fire like the broadside of an ISD to a fighter squadron, from the player point of view is more engaging to roll a "saving throw" (or equivalent) rather than witnessing as the GM rolls for the various cannons. It's faster and it makes them believe they are actually making a difference, although it is the same roll of the dice.

Shack, all the intersections in the galaxy let you build gravity well stations. They may not be interdictors, but they'll let you melt your enemy into molten scrap metal. You should have started building them a long time ago.

Shack if you start the new campaign before the hotfix hits DO NOT BUILD SHIPYARDS in places with no planets to land on. (Like the Maw) You won't be able to finish a specific type of mission if it triggers on a system like that (it only tiggers where you have shipyard).

There's almost no war left to fight, hostiles are tuning allied, and the remaining scum is on the brink, with no real battles past this one. But that's not my job to say. Anyways, the Hapes Consortium ran for their Damn lives in space. Spineless cowards. On the ground, they were not going to just surrender. They fought to the last, like real soldiers. I should know, I was on the ground in my T4-B, Faith. That battle was a bloodbath, thanks to this new firepower. Well, that's all I have to say........... Hey Shack! You know you can build special capital ships on bothawi and the hapes capital

You are going to need a lot of ground units to replace the forces you lost. Take Rosche Asteroid and Alderaan to get an increase in income from trade. You can scrap the defenses on the wheel to get a higher income, and you can sell the shield generator at Mon Calamari.

I think there are two things with Krennic that make him a good villain. One, he was very well-cast, so he really looks the part. Two, his flaws - prideful, cruel, overly ambitious, excessive sense of self-importance - are flaws that the Empire, because of its flaws, encourages.

Shack, I feel like the (or at least A reason) reason you dont like the New Republic ship, if that you're always playing them like their big, beefy Empire ships. Just because they're a real government now doesn't mean they're adopting Imperial military doctrine--im sure you know that in your head, but I did the same thing, I reflexively expected them to be more like Imperial ships, it took me a minute to start thinking of them as what they really are--better Rebel ships. Of course that still leaves their specific strengths and weaknesses, which I don't remember well enough to get into, but that made a big difference in how effective I felt those ships were. I'm sure another big reason is nostalgia as well, which I wouldnt argue against. But tacticly, I really think you shouldn't give up on them, just rethink your strategy a little bit

Coding Faction specific Mandalorians shouldn't be that hard. You'd just have to set it so the units are faction and planet specific for Mandalore. How in depth and the variety of different units you'd want would be the tricky part.

Blockading planets and not taking them is a HORRIBLE idea, even if it takes longer, you MUST take the worlds, just blockading is cheap, like what you consider fighter spamming with Quasars, so please be thorough and conquer the planets, especially to get the resources.
