I once asked my karate sensei on how to fight a muay thai fighter, and he simply said: "I don't know, go and spar with them to find out". That is why I respect people in my dojo so much, there is no ego and no fake stuff. We invited bjj practioners to show us how to roll, why? Because we didn't know back then. Always have an open mind.

U won't learn much by fighting them because you will be constrained by specific techniques w/o understanding principles. Trick to fighting muay Thai folks is to focus fighting at a distance they sux at. They sux at jab/boxing range but their strong point is in knee,elbow,head butt range combined w shin kick. They do have long range 360 round house but that is not their strong suite.

Physics: that which you hit hits back. The harder you hit something, the harder it hits you back and you can keep hitting it until one of you breaks and usually, it's you that breaks first. This is properly known as Newton's Third Law. It can get a little more complicated than that, but this is still high school stuff right here and I'm young enough to where high school wasn't even ten years ago. You are completely correct: a load bearing concrete pillar that is probably reenforced can take the max amount of force a human can dish out and redistribute it back to the one kicking it in this instance. Hitting a wall with your leg like that is a fantastic way to break it.
@Taterzz4 жыл бұрын

I have to admit that I'd been impressed of her kicks when I first saw one of her videos quite a while ago. Recognized the speed up a bit but thought "so what, if they think it looks good..." and kept thinking about how it was possible to condition a shin like that, so I didn't realize it was fake. Next I saw the rifle-video and thought it was just so totally unrealistic which left a really bad taste. But she finaly lost my attention when claiming to achieve this power and grade of conditioning by doing a horsestance (like the gungfu stance ma bu or kiba dachi in karate) for 5 hrs almost every day 😂 No way she does that. I surely do not know the world record in this, but you can easily get experienced and well trained martial artists and fighters to struggle with this position if they only hold it for a couple of minutes . 🤣 ... didn't even see the telekinesis-stuff until now. Hello Mr Dewey. we being sad as Indonesian. why? because she make pencak silat like joke, if she say her video just an entertainment we can accept. she say she and her master have a strong power. many people imitates what they doing. and it's very dangerous. martial art is art, no matter what name of disipline.

I don’t think anyone thinks it’s real. I think she was just do it for entertainment value. I hope so. I can look at guys like Hugo that practice this art and know it’s deadly. You guys have nothing to be ashamed of.

The motto on my family coat of arms is "Victory in Truth", and in truth my friends, nothing is more effective than getting as strong and healthy as you can get and training in an art, such as boxing, where you can get in lots of live practice/sparring. That's it.

Thanks for calling out her b.s. It's like the old saying goes: "Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive." She is a disgrace to all martial artists who genuinely work hard to make martial arts better through serious and dedicated training.

I think these videos are popular because we want to believe it. There is a surprising amount of people that are inspired to begin their fighting journey from anime and other unrealistic portrayals of fighting. Most of us grow out of it and embrace fighting for what it is, some of us just get frustrated, and some of us just lie to ourselves about what skills we could grow into. Others lie to you and make some money out of it. Unfortunate

Good morning Coach! I'm a construction worker who work for a formwork company. You can't chip^or break a concrête pillar with your bones! Even with an hammer it's very hard! Concrete become harder with time and I know what I'm talking about because sometimes in my work I have to break concrete with power tools and I can tell you that it's a very physical task! Also I would like to understand the psychology of those people who lie ! We find those kind of people in almost any field ! Martial and self-defense are one of those fields that use the vulnerability of many people to their business. It's a shame!
Shes very good at control we used to practice it quite a lot.

What?? It was fake the whole time???!!! Who would have guessed that she wasn't really dodging bullets???!!! Also it is quite funny to see that her "counter" after every dodge, she stops, plants her feet, then throws those fast punches. Even most of those fake "push the rifle to the side while punching" look better than that because at least most of those they look like they are at least trying to strike at the same time they push the gun, not stopping to plant and then finally striking.

She seems to be skilled in her form and technique, and has the skill to edit videos (or at least her team does). Like so many others in the comments, I agree that she could have portrayed herself a master at that niche, instead of being dishonest and faking her abilities using them. But that also bring me to this wild theory I have. There are so many martial artists who are good at the forms and movement - at times more so than competitive athletes - yet they want to portray to the world that they are amazing fighters as well, without training to be fighters. My wild theory is that if they don't also imply that their skill with forms translates to fighting, then it's just like dancing, and sometimes, there tends to be insecurity attached to it because society has the idea that dancing is expression of grace and femininity, while fighting is about strength and masculinity, and often can't find the common ground, unless they experience the similarities and contrast themselves.

Is a feint not deception? From a martial aspect many skills are based in deception. Are these not lies? I'm just playing devil's advocate, and don't really care either way. She's doing a performance, so who cares? Is a film not a lie? It's not reality. Are the martial artist actors not lying when they portray MA in an unrealistic way? To me it seems like the actual issue is more about people being bothered about her success. Don't get me wrong, from an ethical point of view I agree she shouldnt market it as "self defense", however I don't think it negates her skills, it's just her skills are not those that are immediately portrayed or what people like.

I thought Chintya was just doing a marketing project for Silat via exaggeration. She’s no different than the Chinese and Japanese movies which feature exaggerated methods and applications. To me she was just building a “mythos” around Silat. I think she could actually handle herself in a fight, she has skills and abilities. Like one guy said in a Run Run Shaw movie upon watching a woman beat up men…”Hey! It’s a goddam girl!” 😂 Gotta love her! Chintya, keep your head up, girl!😀
