I have lost faith in democracy. I feel that it is Unbiblical. We need a Orthodox theocratic monarchy.

A Spanish politician was recently forced to quit because photos emerged of him eating his own crap. This was possibly a case where he didn't comply with an order and so had the blackmail dirt on him released

The Biblical monarchy in Israel still had democratic elements to it though. There were councils and gatherings of the tribal elders that made decisions or created proposals for the king to adopt as laws. Monarchy without this democratic element simply turns to tyranny, and that is not a positive Biblical model (king Saul as a prime example).
@armandosanchez49785 ай бұрын
Those are not "democratic elements", pretty much every monarch in history had advisors and councils,the concept of a single mean guy controlling everything is mostly just a caricature.
@Hoi4o5 ай бұрын
@@armandosanchez4978 Advisors and councillors don't have legislative or executive power, which the tribal elders certainly had to some extent within the monarchy. We also see the difference between tyranny and monarchy when David abuses his power as king and takes another man's wife while effectively murdering him and is reprimanded by the prophet Natan for it. This is very far from the idea of an absolute monarchy where the monarch's will reigns supreme. This is a lot closer to Plato's idea of the philosopher-king than to the Biblical idea of monarchy.

Russia is 80% ethnic Russian, just saying and Ukrainians are the biggest immigrant group which are essentially the same race/ethnicity. The rest have their own republics where they have a lot of autonomy in self governance.

Thank you for being a voice of reason for your generation. Watching the ridiculous 'protests' sweeping through universities like a cancer, it is refreshing to know there is still some common sense and rationality out there.

Some orthodoxy Theology and ways I like and agree with. Some I for sure Do Not. I have this exact experience with Protestant theology and ways of worship. I take the best, most Biblically sound (very little gray area) parts of each and go with it on a daily basis, avliving Christianity . So, I have enjoyed the channel and will continue to. I really like the focus on logos. I’ll look the other way as you bow down to , kiss, and worship your little pictures, looking very much like some Hindu idol worshipping slave if I may say it bluntly. I can have respect, and appreciate, I can learn from the apostles, former Christian leaders etc…I do NOT have to carry around a Fing picture of them and kiss the picture to do this. Sorry for the cuss word, I’ll take care of that, oh excuse me, I meant to say, my priest will take care of that for me tonight at 6pm, for I have confession tonight. So don’t worry about! I like the art work in the Orthodox Church , I like the cathedral beauty of these churches. Some of the “traditions” of the orthodox on par with scripture, no way! Traditions, if they’re good, if they work in the real world,?I’ll take them, I’ll live with and by them. Are they subject to fallibility ? Heck yeah they are. Are scriptures fallible? No. Are men’s interpretation of the scriptures’ fallible? Yes

I agree with the above comment that it's not the safest position to hold. I probably made even worse mistake of following my own heresy and not the church's teaching. This faith wasn't strong, it couldn't be. It's impossible to have faith in your own religion. If we're searching for the truth, the truth is what matters. At times we might not be able to perceive all of its characteristics. It takes time, patience and humility to perceive everything. As for the icons and kissing the icons, consider it as a way of communication. When you have a strong desire to communicate with a saint, who stands closer to God, when you want to be closer to God, to what is holy and pure, you don't have much choice. You can't just look at the icon, you feel it's not enough. You can't hug it. So, what I would recommend is that in the time of distress and longing for God, try praying to a saint in front of the icon, and just touch the frame of the icon with your fingers. You can be standing doing this. This way you can feel the communication that's even stronger when we kiss the icon.

The church you rely on to know what the bible is beleived and used icons, read the church fathers, by the very fact that you use the canon of scripture that you use you have already presupposed that the church had authority to canonize it and reject all aternative canons as heresy, otherwise you would be using an alternative canon such as marcions whithout the book of john, if you have allowed them the power of authority to reject alternative canons why havnt you submitted to their rejection of iconoclasm as heresy? how can you accept the bible that the church fathers put together yet reject everything else they believed? Seems arbitrary
