After we lost Peep, X, and Juice we basically lost the godfathers of emo rap. But the thing is the emo rap genre has a lot of pain and addiction in it, it is by definition emotional music. And I believe the genre just by its nature be very volatile. But it saved my life tho real shit.

Literally all my favourite artists that i loved at that time died. It's fucked up. Now i don't listen to them much as years back but they are still in my playlists. RIP. And i need to say that i growed up from EMO rap i dont know any others EMO rappers and i don't even want to know. Nobody will be like them and i don't want to be popping xanax again

i never really considered xan an emo rapper, he has some sad songs but it's more turn up mumble rap in the style of pump and purrp

I hope that emo rap never dies. We still got Killstation, Brennan Savage and many more underground artist and begginers. You just have to dig more. Peep wasn't only one doing that kind of music but he was the only one to blow up like that. We need to carry on his legacy and carry on this genre of music but it needs to stay underground tho.

a lot of us grew up, stopped doing drugs, and healed from all that. We saw what happened to X, peep, and juice so we changed and matured.

My favorite emo rapper of all time Drippin So Pretty has switched up his sound and has been making either moody rock or electronic rap. And I’ve noticed MANY artists have been doing something similar. Paris Shadows has been leaning heavily into post punk lately, for example.

I like that in a genre full of gang violence & sexism, the biggest controversy was mfs rapping about their emotions.

I can't really put into words how well you put the thoughts I had a hard time putting into words; Into words. As a very small up and coming rapper who feels like the game took a sharp turn when these big 3 died, it's rough out here tryna be on the more lyrical side. This video confirms a lot of thoughts and connects a lot of dots that I really just can't describe man, thank you for real for real. It sucks that I can see why the state of hip hop is what it is right now and I just have to try and bridge lyrical to that instead of something that REALLY meant a lot to me; like emo rap. I feel like I'm gonna be restricted to only doing tribute style projects just because these 3 died and took emo rap with them. Shit hurts man, but I really appreciate this video beyond possible description. It's a confirmation I came to the right conclusion; invaluable. 🙏 You earned a sub here bro

Laroi Grinded in Australia. Rapped for Ben Simmons and shit before he went to the nba. Grinded to get seen by Bibby and opened for juice. Essentially just about every artist is an “industry plant” if that is counted as one.

Also, there are hundreds of EMO rappers out here still getting MONEY. Ouse and powfu are still killin it, guardin, Lund and to honestly say emo rap is dead disrespects the artists outside of the mainstream who are killing it

I'd argue Post Malone is the current poster child for the genre. He has his own style now but he came from the hardcore scene. There's some good underground ones who've been around like killstation, scarlxrd, guccihighwaters, keepmysecrets.

@@Blood-zz2kt he came from that crop. He's set apart from it now but he's a former scene kid.

it’ll be hard to blow up with this sound now cus when x, juice and peep said stuff we knew it was true and how they lived, if someone comes out now with some of the lines they have people will just say “they’re tryna be juice wrld he doesn’t really feel that way” and until they get to a good size how can we believe it? what made the music that bit better was what they were saying was true whereas nowadays people try to hate before giving someone a chance so we’re not gonna connect with the lyrics as much plus we don’t know them

okay... juice and laroi actually were friends like that... the reason he got on grade A is bc of juice... juice like the kid... and believe it or not he is really talented.... he just outrapped llil tecca and outsang him. Also, a lot of your favorite critics said that themselves. Laroi also does live what he says... his background also wasnt the best believe it or not... he constantly talks abt juice n how he misses him... he is not an industry plant since he was known b4 juice died... YES IM MEATRIDIN HES GOOD... blame bibby...

A lot attempts of emo rap stopped being as good when it gets clear the artists arent talking about their feelings, but trying to imitate other's emotions. Industry plants are just that, even if they actual feel that way, the way its expressed is imitating the emotions that got us those sounds.
