Here’s a video idea with a title: Being a Helldiver ain’t so bad. A helldiver (let’s call him Fern) is separated from his team and the whole time being on the planet, he just see the beautiful landscape of the planet as he encountered zero enemies. Meanwhile his teammates are experiencing all sorts of hell from the enemy and they can’t find the objective they’re looking for. On the other hand, Fern had already found the objective without any trouble and calls for extraction with a signal for his team to go to his position. While waiting, he starts to get philosophical on what it means to be a helldiver with how there is still beauty everywhere while still in war. But his teammates experience the opposite of what he said, as they’ll see it as a living nightmare they’ll never forget as one of them cries out “I WANT MY MOMMY~!!!” And after everyone is back on their ship in orbit, Fern talks to his teammates on what he learned from their mission and end it with “Being a Helldiver ain’t so bad. Right guys?” His team thought otherwise as they were dead silent the whole time, before one of them passed out on the floor. But Fern didn’t notice it and just stares out the window with a beautiful view of the planet.

Honestly I hope you turn this into a full series. Kinda like RvB or CRASH. Like yeah there are animations but it’s almost the first time I’ve seen more than one video with more plot than most “machinima” type of videos on this game. Thank you very much! It's very difficult turning something like helldivers into a consistent series. Just as an example, this video takes place on Hadar. We had 3 hours to get footage before the planet was no longer available. I started editing that footage but eventually got to a point where I wanted overhead establishing shots for the introduction of the Mother of Authority. So now I ran into the problem of not having Hadar available anymore. I was worried that if I got an establishing shot of the ship over an entirely different planet, it would be very jarring. Luckily Heeth was now available which is also a snow planet, but of course the DSS was hovering overhead. So now I needed to scramble and figure out a way to include the DSS in the video. So basically, you really need to get all the footage you need within the same day since the war map changes so often. On top of that, me and Siege live 1000's of miles apart from each other, so our schedules lining up can also be difficult. I can't tell you how many versions of this video I edited and scrapped before I landed on this one lol. I'm going to continue making these, but I figured I'd give some insight on why it takes so long. Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoy these videos!

I remember Calypso... not long after my first deployment. I wasn't around for Hellmire. I wasn't around for the Creek. But I remember Calypso as clear as day. The hordes of Voteless. The Harvesters who's beams melted Divers in their armor, like man-made furnaces. The sickening sound of an Overseer's polearm hitting human flesh. 3 days of hard fighting. We won. But only just.

Honestly this is the kind of HD2 content I'm willing to watch, story narrative and roleplay on the battlefield instead of the receptiveness of "News" which is just saying the same leaks and messages and post from a developer. Getting a lot of mixed emotions from this one. Tonally, it's all over the place. The good parts - the deployment of the investigator, the initial contact with the illuminate, the hectic combat after - is really, really well done. And what really sells it is the voice acting. The combat with the illuminate drags a bit too long after that, and it's not really explained well enough who the other characters are and what is the purpose of the fight. I guess they're meant to be reinforcements that are helping the investigator to get off planet, but it's not explained to the audience as clearly as it was needed. And the bad parts are what happens off-planet, the jump and tonal shift are a bit too jarring, and I don't get the gag of using stratagem hero to input coordinates to Meridia or why the truth enforcer would want to go there in the first place, the connection between the black hole and the illuminate has not been established, neither in this video, nor in the universe of the game. The voice acting of the two characters on the ship also seems out of place with the rest of the video. I loved the cheesy voice acting for the truth enforcer though, reminded me of Commander Gyuo from the old-ass Guyver OVA, in a good way. Overall, it's clear a lot of effort was put into this video, and I give you mad props for doing it.
