I feel like one of the reasons is that, it used to be a way for teenagers to adults to kill time, but after people started giving oblivious children IPADs, mobile game developers exploited the children’s parents credit cards.

I started android gaming in 2012 but after some years I shifted to playing console emulators like gamboy advance Nes snes Nintendo ds PSP and mame. The reason is mobile games literally boring. Most of the games are replica of flash games which I played way before time. Only few games like badlands Fruit Ninja and some gameloft games are better other than all are not good. Nowadays I have powerful specs phone but only playing PSP and arcade games because I didn't like newer games battle royale style games almost all games now are battle royale concept. Why people mad for genshin impact I mean PSP has way more better replica of that game. The reasons are simplethere are no variety on mobile games nowadays. I played gameboyadvsnced games even they had so much variety.

I can confirm that I am an OG player too. I miss old games like these. Battleheart is one and only game I know that has no ads, no microtransactions, no online required to play. It's simple, yet a perfect game that it's still playable after almost 10 yrs since the Appstore. Here are a few games you must avoid that are P2W: - Asphalt 8, Extreme and 9 (Play Asphalt 6: Adrenaline since it's the only best asphalt game) - Any Glu games. - Mech Arena Showdown (it's a real pain to grind when you have poo-poo weapons) - Candy Crush Saga (No need to ask. This game is secretly called "Hell") In fact, every single mobile game is nothing but a cash grab, which is sad. :(

It's also bad due to sheer volume of bad games and how you can't just hide them from play store. If you could hide bad games so they don't appear you could probably make it easier to find new n good games

Fortunately not all gaming companies became this money hungry, the bloons series still lives on to this day, and relatively recently, the developers added an additional mobile game called bloons pop. I personally really like it, and the game doesn't try to aggressively makes money of the players with adds or purchases. it has relatively little ads, about one per level and no ads little screen, and even those adds are only on the main game mode, the other modes have no ads at all, so you can play without getting a single add at all. There is a power ups market, but there is also a passive accumulation of power ups which is gained with progress in the game, or with the completion of daily challenges.

I don't know what to feel when nobody talks about Gameloft, they made really impressive mobile games back in the day, the Asphalt series being some of the most well-known, they had their imperfections, but they looked awesome, especially for the time. Nowadays, games like those are rare and I feel sad that mobile gaming didn't evolve to be like console or even PC games like Gameloft had done years ago. Heck, mobile games were getting so good Sony released a phone focused specifically on gaming with its own built-in controller. There was such a missed opportunity which companies will probably never find again, and boy was it important.

i'm super hyperfixated on Jetpack Joyride at the moment and you know... i really miss when mobile games weren't just a joke to people. ads were just a side thing for monetary gain, devs like Halfbrick were dominating, they were simple and fun and didn't need to be too serious or mind-numbing to be fun y'know? i hope mobile games make a resurgence in quality, Halfbrick is still going strong and devs like Supercell are making cool stuff, not to mention the indie devs that make captivating unique games that aren't just Clash Of Clans again.
