1335 - Mongol Ilkhanate ruler Abu Sa'id Bahadur Khan died by Black Death, Mongol Ilkkhanate soon disintegrated over succession.
1351 - Red Turban Rebellion started in China against Mongol Yuan Empire
1353 - Togha Temür the last Mongol ilkhanate pretender was assasinated by Sarbadars (persian assassin sect)
1368 - Zhu Yuan Zhang taken Khanbaliq (Beijing) razed Mongol Yuan Palaces and estasblish Han Ming Empire. The remnants of Mongol Yuan empire retreated to Shangdu in Mongolia.
1370 - Tamerlane (Timur) of Turco-Mongol descent carve up his empire from decayed Mongol Chagatai Khanate from Samarkand.
1375 - Turkic tribe revolted against Mongol ilkhanate rule and establish confederation of Kara Koyunlu in Middle East & Persia and Anatolian Beyliks in anatolia.
1468 - Mongol Golden Horde disintregrated into various khanate from Siberia (khanate of Sibir) to Southern Russia (Khanate of Kazan)
1478 - Crimean Khanate,one of the remnants of Golden Horde became vassal of by Ottoman Empire.
1552 - Tsardom of Russia under Ivan the Terrible destroyed Kazan Khanate,one of the remnants of Mongol Golden Horde.

Mongols fell just like romans - due to a lot of infighting and enemies on all sides. The only difference is that enemies of Rome were around the Mediterranean region, while enemies of the Mongol Empire were all across the entire Eurasia.

Completely different situations, the Romans fell due to financial issues, social problems, moral decay, a culture of corruption among its elite, climate/temperature changes affecting farming productivity as well as acting as a further catalyst for migrations. The rise of Christianity also led to recruitment shortages. The Mongols on the other hand built an empire situated on sand, they didn't really make the effort to culturally assimilate its conquered peoples the same way the Romans did hence the huge disparity in each empires life spans.

The Mongol succession system was a big reason their empire collapsed as quickly as it did. A Khan wasn't free to name a successor before he died. Rather, the Mongol nobles had to return to Mongol homeland to decide upon a new Khan. Not hard to see how a system like that would breed instability for such a huge empire.

Yeah, and not only the chinese. mongols were a few hundred thousands - the conquered People many millions. and the chinese had their own, advanced culture. so the mongol empire broke into five pieces after a few decades. yes, the romans ruled with iron Hand, but in many older provinces, this was not longer necessary: Gaul, Spain, North Africa, Greece, for example. the People there were "assimilated" into Roman culture.
