I corrupted scratch was a progressive style, because it was there depending on your level. Super Level styles are more of a “earn it after the earned” thing.

Chapter One in general was peak Fortnite in my opinion. I love everything about it, but the later seasons are super underrated especially 8, 9 and X. I really wish I played more of Season X, it was the only season from Chapter One that I barely played because at the time I thought it was miserable but really the only bad part was the overpowered B.R.U.T.E Mechs everything else was amazing. Luckly, I still forced myself to play enough to finish the battle pass and got to experience the PEAK that was Starry Suburbs (I loved landing at the original broken down version from early Chapter One, so it was very cool seeing a new version of it). I've played every season of the game and have completed every battle pass, but no newer season (except for OG but that's just like a remake so it doesn't really count) can replicate what made this game so special back in 2017 to 2019.

Yep. I was gonna say the same thing. The others styles you get for leveling up to reach lvl 200 is basically even more extra free styles. This community always sees the negative in everything even the good. You can never satisfy everyone.

Something I also liked is that they gave you the loading screen of the current season after completing all the overtime challenges. Nowadays sometimes they make challenges to get them and other times they just forget it completely (at least as I remember untill chapter 2, I havent played since OG and I dont remember giving them to us).

They're inconistant about it. I started buying BPs in CH2S5 and I don't have the keyart, but I also didn't finish that pass. In Ch2s6 it was the tier 9 reward, in Chapter 2 season 7 it was from completing the story quests, in Ch2S8 it was on page 1 of the BP, They never gave out the Ch3s1 or 2 keyart, Ch3s3 put it on page 9 of the BP, Ch3s4 put it on Page 6, and since Chapter 4 they've given out both the main keyart and the secondary keyart with all the characters posing, both in separate places in the BP, usually one being either early in the pass or a bonus reward and the other one being later in the pass or a quest reward.

My friends and I have had this conversation a lot of time in the past. Yes, it’s true, we 100% agree that Fortnite is falling off. But we also came to realize that Epic Games is slowly running out of ideas. Notice how a lot of the skins we have now look either copied or just straight up terrible. Rust is an exact replica of Rust Lord and The Mechanist reminds people a whole lot of Jules. As far as I’m concerned, Fortnite is at its lowest.

I mean in chapter 1 or just some chapters ago it was hard to grind to tiers 100. It was practically impossible to get tier 100 if it was your first battle pass(back then BP had an XP boost bonus that you get each battle pass and for your first BP you had no boost)and you only play some hours every weeks. Now you Can barely play and get to tiers 100

I really do miss when Fortnite did stuff like this. Bringing up Sidewinder's Blue style as an example of how they integrated some lore into the character is one of the many reasons she's my favorite skin to this day. I still love running Sidewinder and continue to do so for as long as I play Fortnite.

Up to this day, I started fortnite in C1s5 but only got the battlepass at c1s8 due to the free battlepass quest in c1s7. But my greatest regret was not being able to spend money to buy the battlepass of seasons 5,6 and 7. I love the skins of s5,6 and 7. As of c1s8 i got everybattlepass until know. But i still have the deep regret of not being able to have the skins of c1s5, s6 and s7. I still watch old videos of those seasons TT

Solid video, I totally agree with all the points you made here. I also think the overtime challenges gave players such a different skin from what the original Battle Pass, that Epic realized they could just release those skins as Re-Skins in the item shop. (Another small thing, I think the progressive styles actually began in Chapter 2: Season 1 with the 8-Ball vs. Scratch skin. You were able to give Scratch a corrupted style, and he'd get more corrupted the higher level you were. This also played into the lore a bit. In one of the last Storyline Loading Screens we've ever gotten (RIP those, it was really nice being able to follow the story easily each week) we see 8-Ball going to Weeping Woods to fight Scratch. After that loading screen though, we don't know what happened with that story, until that progresses style became available. We believe that Scratch actually won that fight and killed 8-Ball, and since Scratch is the Alter to 8-Ball (aka, the copy), killing the original would slowly kill him too, or in this case, corrupt him. (The originals were called Ego, and the clones were called Alter, but this was changed in rhe next season with Ego becoming GHOST and Alter becoming SHADOW (And SHADOW has a different logo than Alter, but are very similar, and GHOST kept the same logo as Ego).)

I really dislike the UI for the battlepasses Chapter 4-onward. It feels so soulless, and the battle star system isn’t any better. When you level up, the next page of cosmetics is already open, but you can’t get anything from them if you’re trying to unlock the previous page. I think that for Chapter 6, Epic games should revert or revamp the Battle Pass UI and system once more, bring back Overtime, and put the Vbucks back into the main track of the pass.

Instead of keeping overtime to bring players back after the complete battle pass they pushed what was 1500 v bucks in 100 levels of the battle pass to 1500 vbucks in 125 levels, they pushed back 500 v bucks for no good reason

The only recent season of Fortnite to feel somewhat close to overtime challenges was Chapter 3 Season 2. The alternate styles felt a lot more interesting than "Make the whole skin this texture and color" or "Give all the skins this cool pattern effect mapped to their clothes." I hated super styles that would be locked to one style and couldn't be changed. I'm glad that's not the case anymore and we can remove certain parts of skins like helmets or glasses and still have the styles remain, and I'll admit the option to be able to do that is definitely better than the old overtime styles, but I can't lie and say I don't miss what are essentially remixes of skins.

I feel like if they offered people who already have a specific collab skin, they can at least get 1 more additional style while other people can get the skin but only the og players who played during that season get one more style

I’m not a fan of how grindy they want you to be. I’m not all into playing fn anymore, but I accidentally forgot to cancel my crew, so I got the bp. I feel obligated to finish it and get the vbucks, but it takes soooo long. I miss when you could reach tier 100 and that was IT. reaching lvl 140 to get the last of ur vbucks is criminal.

the cloesest thing we have now to overtime challenges are quest rewards in my opinion. They unlock later in the season and you have to complete specific challenges to unlock them. The thing about them though is that they are tied to weekly quests instead of their own overtime challenges. But other than that they're almost identical to overtime rewards.

Super styles are so lame, ive only seen one super style that actually looks good on characters and it was the wilds season cause it doesnt envelop the entire character in a stupid aura. Just think about how much we lost throughout the years man. We lost orignal skins in favour of colabs, original emotes in favour of tiktok emotes, less emotes in the BP, no live event. A pityfull story. Always a bunch of mythics ruining the game
