You're forgetting TDS does more than just event updates. Solar Eclipse, they reworked the Sniper, Soldier, and Militant. After that, they reworked the Shotgunner and released the Engineer in the Duck Hunt update. Then, they released Golden Perks which changed from percent buffs to unique stats. They made Polluted Wastelands II which started Enemies Beta and also added a lot of new enemies. They remade Badlands and the Cowboy in the Wanted Dead updated. They added Pizza Party and the Warden. They overhauled the UI and added the Elf Camp in Violent Night. They rebalanced and rework Mortar, Turret, Archer, and many other towers. They reworked the Minigunner and Ranger in the Lunar Overture update along with adding Necromancer and Jester. They added quests in November. They reworked Freezer, Frost Blaster, and Sledger in Krampus' Revenge along with adding the Cryomancer. They reworked Crook Boss and added some Content Creator skins. And most recently, they added the Trapper tower. This doesn't even cover most rebalances and reanimations like for Electroshocker and Toxic Gunner. (Also, Razuatix was dead weight and slowed updates down.) Also, to cut the devs some slack for 2021, I believe one of Below's family members died while they were working on Frost Invasion... I agree with you, they did other stuff during the downtime of events. But skins, and map reworks arent really in Below's department (more for modelers and animators). Also golden perks, quests, and balancing changes probably did not take that much effort to implement. Polluted wasteland and Pizza party I forgot about (one because its removed and the other bc its not listed on the wiki) so I will say that those events did take effort and I probably shouldve listed those. Also im not completely sure what you mean by "rework" because some of these towers you mentioned either have like 1 upgrade that has changed since 2021, which once again does not require that much effort. TLDR: I agree with (and also forgot about) the fact that they made polluted and pizza, but the rest really didnt take that much effort to implement and more shouldve been done. Also I missed the razautix drama but youre probably right.

like I said in the video, what I said about tdx is just my opinion. The unique towers like warship are just for dps and don’t do much else, which I don’t really like. Also I have played tds for much longer so ofc im gonna like the game a little bit more. I just think tdx dosent bring enough new stuff to the table. (However, like another reply said, the balancing for early game towers is quite good compared to tds and other games.)

​@@Ducttape165 John doesn't make towers after towers from other games? He bases them off of real life units, with only some tower being sci-fi (for now at least). Ranger? Infantry unit Operator? Some special forces unit Missile trooper? Infantry equipped with explosive weaponry Patrol boat? Literally just that, a patrol boat Artillery? Long range weapon used to take down groups of enemies and armored vechicles. Etc. You can say a game copied another game, but not for such reason as this. If we were to follow this logic then people would just call every tower defence game a Bloons TD clone because most of the games use things from real life as a base for their towers, but bloons did it first.

Ive been playing tdx for 1 month now and people saying "the grind sucks" is just a skill issue so grinding for jug is harder than getting gcrate but I've played TDs for almost 3 years now.And saying TDx is flashy is clearly biased TDs is much more flashier like the logic on TDs and strats are just to spam the best DPS tower and you win.

Correction, Superbox Siege Defense and Super Toilet Brawl are not copies of TTD, SBSD came out earliet or around the same time as TTD, both games are more like arena games and they have clear effort put into them, hope that clears some stuff up😊

Tds and Tdx are kind of incomparable at the moment, tdx is very new and still has a lot of unreleased content, also remember how big of a copy tds was of tb when it first came out

During late 2022, below confirmed he “hated” making events and wanted to focus on actual quality updates (this comment will be long so if your gonna reply “I ain’t reading all that” or “I didn’t order a yappuchino” just leave) In between the downtime between solar eclipse and duck hunt we got soldier, militant, and sniper reworks, towers that desperately needed a rework, and the entity system During the downtime from duck hunt to violent night, they added cowboy rework, addition of warden, golden perks, warden, special game modes which were revolutionary for tds, new modifiers and map reworks which would later be crucial for the “success” of Lunar Overture and Krampus’ Revenge. In between Violent Night and Lunar Overture we didn’t get much, but the tower reworks and rebalances were nice and refreshing, and the two events we got in 2023 were massive and added new and fundamentally interesting towers Even before The Hunt in 2024 we got trapper, crook rework, and after the hunt we had mili base rework and by far the best April fools update. Only mentioning tds events is really unfair considering majority of the updates are new towers and features outside of events, and simply calling all these updates in between the events during 2022-2024 “Rebalancing and UI changes” is just…. No

Innovative: CTD inventor of Tower hp (TDX didnt handle the hp mechanic well compared to CTD), path towers, perks, UNIQUE MAP MECHANICS (Only in CTD as far as i can see, nobody did this), unique enemy mechanics that play off of each other (Null Chambers), achiving perfect tower balance all of them are viable but still unique to each other. Tower Galactica: Why did you not include it? Its packed full of uniqueness! The first system teaches you the basics (it has a story), the second is where shit gets real with Duhovnic (The gameplay starts tog et interesting here), the third and final system where the devs got burned out and discontinued the game is just an expansion upon Duhovnic exept it has a much lover difficulty spike (Not for the enemyies or the towers, but for YOUR survivability) I cant do Tower Galactica justace just go play the game and find out.

ngl i'd play cube defense but its too much for my braincells since its : events might be same BUT SOME EVENTS LIKE HALLOWEEN HAVE 11 PATHS (gamemodes each ranging from easy to suffering) actually original oh my god , they have endless, they have nightmare and deep void as the very hard difficulties , deep void is probably the hardest gamemode, cuz the boss has 3 STAGES AND ON THE FINAL STAGE IT UNLEASHES SWORDS THAT KILL UR TOWERS UNTIL ALL UR TOWERS DIE,SIPHON 98% CASH FROM ALL PEOPLE, lower hp cap alot, GO FASTER.... and to beat it you need insanely op towers and op event towers, not to mention the sheer strength of some event towers, theres cubepocalypse which has a few "hard" waves which has a cube limit where too many cubes result in you losing the match, basically, theres alot of content, no wonder the game is (i think) older than tower battles

I only like to play games with made up characters and not use characters that already exist. But, ofc there gonna be similarities in td games and different names and do the same stuff it is really hard to come up with something original. So they have to use existing mechanics from other games and make their game unique. So yes, not everything has to original. Collabs are fine.

the 2 most underrated td games imo are: -pixel gun tower defense (which requires more braincells than normal td games, so not for everyone) -tower galactica (i havent tried this one out yet but i heard many positive reviews of it) pixel gun tower defense expands more into the strategy aspect of td games than most td games. although the game has become easy for some reason, even on veteran 235 which is the 2nd hardest thing to do on pgtd is not that hard once you have the proper items (its only easy for the actually intellignet ppl, not kids who play ttd) tower galactica idk im too busy playing pgtd

I only play tds for events (lvl130 here) Gave up on tdx once i realise the grind was gonna be boring af SCP tower defense got good concept of interesting gadgets but need more content PGTD and PGTD 3 had , unique game mechanic of combining towers and gadgets as well WTD was fun even tho it was difficult af (def recc with frens or strategy)
