I too would like a demo, saying you can play all of Erak's guitar parts is a pretty bold claim. Not saying you can't, just... I love seeing them if you don't mind putting one together.

palm mute is when you mute the strings with the side of your hand on the bottom of the strings and pick at the same time. its really easy and it makes a drowned-out kinda sound. pinch harmonics are kinda like when FOT do those divebomb squeals or anything on a harmonic fret, theyre kinda hard to explain but you can find lesson videos on youtube

if youre right handed, youll play with your left hand and use your right to pick and palm mute. You play normally and pick normally, but lay the side of your right hand when picking on the bottom of all the strings while you pick so that it isn't as loud. Itll still work on acoustic, it just will sound different. But yeah i love acoustics! i actually learned my first FOT song on one, becaue i didnt have an electric either!

How did this song never get a professional recording? It's one of their best songs IMO and the fact it ever only got B-sided is... fucking tragic, but they may have been going for that Nirvana thing on some of their songs. Nirvana had a LOT of legendary B-sides, some better than others, but perhaps most famous of them all was my favorite Nirvana song ever that didn't get released until about 10 years after the dissolution of the band and of course Kurt's suicide. "You Know You're Right". Yes, it was later released as a single but if history didn't have it's way it may never have seen the light of day. Similar to the situation we now find ourselves with Vomiting Winter and TFoT.

I think I recall Thomas saying around the ITUE album cycle that this song was never intended to be recorded or released on anything. This version was cleaned up and added onto a deluxe version of that album later on though. Memory might be a lil hazy though as it was so long ago aha

ive been playing caught up for about a year. and over that course it just perfects itself. along with many troy songs. im almost getting there with sledgehammer. and letters in between numbers can mean anything from bends to pull offs and hammer ons. i dont really have advice for you. guitar pro maybe. that helps me a lot. ive become dependent on it.

the album with vomiting striaght jacket and battleship is gonna be like manipulator II. basically the same thing, just more mature, and more well written and structered songs. vomiting winter reminds me of sledgehammer which happens to be one of my favorites. straight jacket reminds me of problem?! since they're both just short jams with minimum vocals.

probably the best thing to do when learning the fall of troy is improve technique and practice a lot! im trying to learn FCPREMIX because it is basically hitting one note at a time with a few chords kicked in at times...not my fav song to learn but its better than me attempting ex creations...lol. x
