Clarification for 32:04. Some Hermeticists call the Christian God the ‘demiurgos’ (the Artisan), while others call the true immaterial God the ‘demiurgos’... you know, just to confuse us. Well, for the purposes of this video, the name isn’t important. What matters is that, as a Hermeticist, Marx is looking to overcome the ‘material’ God and get to the true ‘immaterial’ God. So if in doubt, just ignore where I said “and they call him the Demiurgos”. While I did criticise Francis Wheen in the video, I actually found his book to be very in-depth, and would still recommend it for anyone interested in doing further reading. Jone’s book on Karl Marx is very apologetic and is, therefore, less of a priority. Kengor’s book (The Devil and Karl Marx) is good if you’re interested in the Christian perspective of this topic. For any socialist or communist who has realised that there may be a problem with the Marxist or socialist ideology and would like further help in understanding the problem, I’d recommend the following books (in this order): Muravchik’s “Heaven on Earth: The Rise and Fall of Socialism”. Henry Hazlitt’s “Economics in One Lesson”. Leonard Peikoff’s “The Cause of Hitler’s Germany”. (Yes, it is relevant.) Thomas Sowell’s “Basic Economics”. L.K. Samuels’s “”Killing History”. Murray Rothbard’s “America’s Great Depression”. Ludwig von Mises’s “Omnipotent Government”. Ludwig von Mises’s “Socialism”.

Most socialists I know are extremely hard working people. Many of them work in healthcare, I know a few engineers among them too. Despite these grueling schedules they still spend much of their free time organizing political activities. Everything from canvassing to improvised soup kitchens. It is a level of dedication that I could only aspire to, and I believe that the level of public service and selflessness in my experience is matched only by the best of religious charities.

@@TonyGModesto there are a few that are true idealist socialists, something even Lenin poorly understood himself. Most seem to be in it for personal gain. All but one of my socialist friends and acquaintances barely work for whatever reasons and dont seem to understand what they hate. Some even seem to fit the bill of needing to be taken care of by the state as if a parent, even though they should be able to provide for themselves. Especially the activists i know seem to be wellfare leeches because they obviously could work since activism takes time and effort, even alot of travel. But instead of being productive one just sits his ass on the street and thinks hes saving the world that way. I feel you’re lucky of knowing a few good ones frankly. Do they do stuff too like dividing their income equally? There is only one group i know off in this country that actually applies communist economics to their paychecks themselves. Its so rare.

Her dad was also a member of the British communist party, he was one of the founders of communism in this country, he was a dock worker in Glasgow, he was known for going on strike all the time and was a conscientious objector during the war. MY dad did national service in Singapore fighting the communists, he was gutted when later on his wife joined the communist party.

I’m just halfway through so it might come up later, but it is good to mention that through his mother, Karl was also related to the Philips family (yes, from the multi-billion euro multinational company). The founders of the modern Philips company were his cousins and their father (Karl’s uncle) was a rich tabacco trader from the Netherlands. The Philips family sent their nephew some pocket money every now and then when he asked for it. So, while many people are aware that Engels was rich and sent Karl lots of money, I don’t think many people know Marx was surrounded by people that were absolutely loaded with money. As a matter of fact, the vast majority of people around him were actually very rich. It is probably another reason why Jenny married him, thinking his family and close friends could turn his fate around... It is therefore also not a surprise that a lazy slouch like him would end up so envious when that never materialised…

After your explanation of Marx's character, I finally understand what is wrong with most the leftists. These just cracked his trick and try to emulate him. When I was a leftist, I was constantly at a loss why the other left-wing guys and girls tried to make me hate my job (which I loved), my parents (whom I have always respected for teaching me how to think for myself despite the altruist indoctrination they themselves received) and even the organisational activity (for I was 'too boring' in trying to build a trusted network of encrypted mail and IM communication in the Marxist circles around me). They don't want to make the revolution, they want to have a revolution to be made in their name, and everyone else to be sacrificed in it.

@schizotypal4966… I'm interested to know why you think any of what you wrote has anything to do with Marxism. Can you quote something Marx wrote or said that makes any such connection? Tbh, I think you may find that difficult. Marx would view the contemporary left as completely insane, corrupt and ridiculous. In a word, today's leftists have nothing in common with the ideas of Karl Marx. Prove me wrong by quoting something. Not some made-up Internet quote, though. Cite the book and page number.

So when you make such a generalized statement based off your limited perspective of the world, it can be very easy to believe people are starting conflict for fame and glory. You just aren’t one of the many people experiencing the injustices that inspire revolution. Note: I am not a Marxist. I 100% believe the “leftists” from your chats were trolling jerks. Concerning 10:25 how much Heinrich is complaining about Karl spending 700 thalers, I did a little math to accurately figure out just how much that equates to. From Wurtemberg's historical records, the average stonemason in 1835 made around 5 florins a day. Assuming a 6 day work week, no working on the sabbath, comes to a clean 30 Florins/week. 52 weeks in a year makes for a yearly income of approximately 1560 Florins a year. Conversion of Florins to Thalers is 2 Florins = 1 Thaler. So average salary for a stonemason working 6 days a week, every week in 1830's Germany was 780 Thaler. 700 Thaler is 46.7 weeks worth of work. Heinrich is effectively saying his son was frivolously spending nearly a year's worth of an average workman's wages while being unmployed.

I think you are missing that Marx is afraid of being shamed by his family. He simply didn't want to hear what a disgrace he is. The only way to trick himself into believing himself independent was to block out or bully anyone who confronted him with his failings.

To quote Robert .E Heinlein: "Karl Marx is the disheveled old mystic of das capital". He was a fool and a hypocrite that even believed in slavery, who was then buried in a private mosulium, because he didn't want to be buried in a state provided plot with the plebs he supposedly fought for. A mosulium by the way, that you have to PAY to view...something else that's supposedly against his teachings. Anyone who believes in this guy's ideology shouldn't be allowed to vote, let alone dictate to anyone else what fair and just mean.

Sadly Robert Heinlein was himself a feminist (which makes him an idiot), in Starship Troopers he says that women make better pilots than men and during the 1980s wrote a series of essays, in one of them argued that men should be stripped of the write to vote as payback for women not being able to in the past. Heinlein was a dumbass who was something of a savant when it came to physics which is why he had some good technological worldbuilding in an otherwise shitty written novel (which I found so boring that I head to force myself to read it over the course of a month).

I know how money works, and I know how to _not_ spend beyond my fukken means! Also, I'm aware that all of those things are _bad_ things, and I _want_ to overcome them. Why would you be unemployable? Do you have a disability? Assuming you physically can't get a job and must remain a writer, I have a suggestion for you. I don't have a lot of spare time, but recently I've been playing solo-rpgs like Ironsworn: Starforged. Just got Four Against Darkness too. If you check out the solo-roleplaying sub-Reddit, you'll see that there seems to be a demand for well-written, simple mechanic systems with good world-building potential. Well, if there's a demand, you should fill it. Set yourself a goal of writing up an entire rule system in one day (which will force you to keep it simple). Then revise on the second day, and do some play testing on the third, fourth and fifth days. Revise once more, then come up with a setting. Add in some art (maybe even AI created), publish as a PDF, then advertise on the relevant subreddits and forums. In theory, you could have a published product within a week or two, especially if you're unemployed as you've got nothing else going on. You probably won't make a ton of money with this first product (unless it goes viral), but it will give you experience and show you that wealth can be created. Your wealth and life are entirely in your hands.

This kind of tribalism isn’t helpful to anyone. I get that it’s funny to make fun of people we don’t like. But it is not constructive. The goal is to get people to realize that it is good to embrace responsibility voluntarily. Socialism/communism give people a perceived solution to very real problems in our society. The idea that all socialist people are bad and lazy people is the exact same mindset that marxists have about the bourgeoisie. @@tomislavvinkovic1955 Haha. Even the best of us make mistakes... Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I invested in Russian companies that got sanctioned into the ground. I bought one for the 1/10th book value that was trading at the same price as its very next dividend payment, after a 90% decline. I figured I'd collect the dividend and break even in 30 days. Almost did so, but they were blocked from making payments and the entire board resigned. I still don't know if that was a wise bet or not -- I did under estimate the likelihood of sanctions, but if I repeated that same trade in similar circumstances, and it worked out just once even, I could easily make up for 9 other total losses. And if it worked out just once more net of that, I'd have a ten bagger. Anyway, my point is, at least Keynes got his hands dirty and actually engaged in the activity he theorized about, even if I think a lot of his conclusions were flawed. Marx never put his ideas to the test, or sought any kind of real world experience or validation, likely because he knew it would all fall flat if he did. He just sat in his high (filthy) tower indulging in his own fantasy and ego, and (very occasionally and inefficiently) churning out rhetoric without any kind of supporting theory or reason behind it. That anyone can read his work and think that he had any kind of insight or intelligence is beyond me. Before reading it, I was always lead to believe that he was somehow insightful and brilliant, but just had some mistaken ideas like the labor theory of value. When I actually read it, I was taken aback by how intellectually bankrupt it is. You can clearly tell that he knew nothing, and put zero work into actually asking or answering complex questions. It's nothing but the fantasy of someone with a superiority complex, envious and resentful of the world, and attempting to justify it with baseless rhetoric that he attempts to pass off as philosophy. It's sad, and utterly astounding that anyone takes him seriously at all. Keynes was at least intelligent and capable of making actual reasoned arguments, had real world experience, and put actual money behind his ideas (well, sort of. He invested based on micro security analysis, not macro economics. And he was wealthier for it I'm sure -- as there are plenty of wealthy security analysts, and very very few wealthy economists). Anyway, my point is just that Keynes and Marx are apples and oranges. You can compare Keynes to someone like Milton Friedman, but Marx you can at best be compared to the homeless cocaine addict on the street corner.

Finally finished this video, being at work I could only listen to it in increments. I'm honestly shocked how terrible Marx was as a person. Not just toward his rivals, but toward his friends and family, if you can call them friends. This man would be considered an abuser in the modern age, treating friends like pockets who he manipulated to line his own pocket, treated his family like dirt and seemed to have little sympathy even for his Wife/Children. Based on what you're posted from Jenny, likely convinced her of "His" victimhood so she'd not blame him for their struggles. This is inherently tragic. If he was alive today, his children would have been taken away by the Child Protection Agency/Service.

The general ill health of the Marx family also suggests something else. The deaths of the children follow a typical pattern of the mother having "sub clinical syphallis". This means that although she was infected she didn't neccesarily exhibit any symptoms. The children are born weak and don't thrive and usually die within the first 5 years. Usually the woman can be restored to "uninfected" health after somewhere between 4 & 6 years. Jenny had, it would appear, at least two "bouts" of infection. The first was, presumably, from Karl when they got married. She recovered and after having her daughters was infected again. This would also make sense of Karl's symptoms at the end of his life. Just a thought.

"I'm just a white trash yankee from Massachusetts" I'm glad my video made you think, but don't speak down of yourself, even if tongue-in-cheek! You must look after your self-esteem. And I'm not the first to deliberately separate "capitalism" from "the free market", but I'm maintaining this stance now because, like you, it makes people think. As soon as someone says they're a "capitalist", people immediately think they're for the current system, since the current system is capitalist. But when I say "I'm against capitalism, and we need a free market", that takes people off guard, and they start questioning the narratives they've been hearing, which is precisely what they need to be doing.

I have a suspicion that Marx didn't see himself as lazy because he thought that putting any effort towards anything makes one a hard worker even if that "work" isn't for the benefit of any immediate needs. He lacked the maturity to realize that to make an income you need to do work as a means to an end even if it means doing something that you'd preferably not do in favor of something else you'd enjoy more (but isn't profitable), he seemed to be under the impression that all the effort he spent writing articles/dissertations and spending a lot of time sitting on his chair doing pointless never ending revisions to things he'd already wrote makes him entitled to some sort of reward, because in his mind that was "work". To him work isn't doing something for someone in exchange for a reward for the services you gave to the person who hired you, but rather it's instead doing something you are very passionate about that after spending enough time on would lead to people rewarding you for out of "respect for your efforts" as if one had acquired the ability to become a one man charity donation box or had made money grow on trees/rain from the sky (EDIT: Which I just realized, is the "Labor Theory of Value" in a nutshell). His level of maturity when it comes to career choices had far more in common with that of a 6 year old who "wants to be an astronaut when he grows up" than the pragmatism of any adult jobseeker, and I think this is reflected when he said how in Communism that one could change their careers every hour of everyday being a fisherman by morning and a critic by night and something entirely different the next day if one feels like it, just like a kid who dresses like a Firefighter but later dresses as a Pirate. I also think that his narcissism made him so in love with his writings and felt that what he made was so brilliant that he felt entitled to recognition and rewards from others and couldn't understand why anyone didn't appreciate what he made as much as he did, it's the same mindset that Hitler had with his art, doing to an art school to get validation for what he already made rather than wanting to improve his craft or get constructive criticism.

These people usually were directly influenced by each others work. At this point most of them had similar ethnic background, but the liberal thinkers before them (so the enlightenment guys) were usually either lapsed Calvinists or theologically atheist/mystic mumbo jumbo, some funding always came from a certain group as they supported pluralism for obvious reasons (and have always seen bribery as a decent method of creating a favourable environment), but it's only once their own children started secularising and becoming liberal revolutionaries that any sort of firm network of finance was set up to promote it, and even then it was often a means of support by family unless revolution looked to actually be on the cards. Lenin got massive funding from them, but only in 1917, before that he mostly lived within the existing socialist network.

One point about "capitalists" and "proletariat", Marx didn't invent those concept in the 1850. They were invented by David Ricardo in "On the Principles of Political Economy and Taxation" published in 1817. In this book Ricardo also speaks of "diminishing marginal productivity of capital", and of a third category of economic actors, distinct from capitalists and proletariat, he calls "landowners". Ricardo main point in 1817 was to say that, in the long term, capitalists' diminishing marginal profits will ruin them (Ricardo capitalists can be described as merchants and proto-industrialists...), and enrich landowners (mainly wealthy land-owners who owned huge agricultural domains in the 1810...), while "proletariat's" resources will be dragged down by population increase, their salaries being more or less indexed to the revenues of the poorest farmers, those who exploit the worst field and pay only symbolic rents. I didn't read that book (only exerts..), but I understand that Ricardo, who was later (1819) a Whig MP, was very concerned by the the 1815 corn laws, which the Whigs finally succeeded to abrogate in 1846. The main point of "On the Principles of Political Economy and Taxation" is to try to demonstrate, that, if those laws are not abrogated, UK economics will self-destruct because of a confiscation of resources by wealthy agricultural landowners at the expanses of merchants & proto-industrialists ("capitalists") and hand-workers ("proletariat"). I don't know if Ricardo was perfectly honest in his economic reasoning. On can argue that corn-laws were a big advantage for British aristocracy and a serious problem for merchants & proto-industrialists, because they increased wheat's costs and made landowners richer and hand-workers and/or merchants & proto-industrialists poorer, because hand-workers couldn't feed as well unless their salaries were raised, and obviously Ricardo and the Whigs were british merchants friends and british aristocrats foes on that kind of subjects. Concerning Marx "Capital", I understand that Marx's decision to write this book date from 1844. Corn's laws existed from 1815 to 1846, in 1844, Whigs were very close from convincing parliament to abrogate them, which certainly infuriated british aristocracy and made them eager to find any king of "economic literature" that might contradict Ricardo's widely acclaimed book. Fittingly Marx "demonstration" is that long-term British economics will be unsustainable, because it will enrich "capitalists" and ruin "proletariat" up to a breaking point, and that neither the con-laws nor the landowner will play any part in this story. It looks like an answer to Ricardo 1817 book, I guess it would have been more useful to Marx real friends (British aristocrats ?....) if it could have been published in 1844 instead of 1867. It might have been something of a paid assignment, Marx finally delivered it 21 years after those laws were abrogated, which might explain why he doesn't seem to have been paid very much for that work....

Jesus Christ.. so it was Marx that brainwashed Hitler and turned him into a mass murdering inhuman monster?!

I am reminded of what my late father used to say that Communism hates the Church not because of being anti-spiritual but that Communism itself is a religion and hates all competition. I guess growing up in a family where one side was communist and the other side an old city family (bourgeoisie) while both sides were very well educated and reasonable gives a very interesting perspective.

Not anti-spiritual. Anti-God. Anti-Christ. Marx was very spiritual... in the worst possible ways.

The Google censor bar is high if the word "fetish" or "fetishism" is censored. Not a swear word, or a word invoking hate speech in context. Humans set the bar for the Google AI censor. How ridiculous.

I now understand why Marx the man is kept hidden. While his gibberish has led to millions of death and suffering of tens of millions. Edit: Afterthought; I'm quite amazed his wife did not leave him and return to her family at some point. She truly must have loved him, he's directly responsible for the deaths of their children and eventually herself.

I think there was a lot of stigma against divorce at that time. Additionally, her family probably felt very dishonored by her running away to be with Marx and might not have accepted her afterwards. Or perhaps she was just too ashamed to go back.

A bit of a problem with Marx and wishing he had never happened, is his philosophy was so obvious, pretty shallow, and in line with a lot of what was in the air at the time. We would've just gotten another version of that stupidity. That it still gets any traction at all, knowing what we know, is mind-boggling.

I was thinking the same thing, because all of the shit made by Marx and the woke fools that he inspired were allowed to proliferate in our society with the permission of our politicians and bureaucrats, and if they were fine with that rubbish ruining society that shows that they had the same petty and elitist mindset as the Marxists all along or at the very minimum didn't care about what happens after they died as long as their own children were set and they could live their final years with their pension. Just look at how David Lloyd George (the PM of the UK during WW1) sponsored Emmeline Pankhurst's anti male terrorist group and used them to shame men to fight as part of the white feather campaign, if that was the sorts of people who was in charge all the way back in the 1910s then the rise of a new breed of institutional stupidity were inevitable, because in hindsight it's quite apparent that even during the "good old days" ( in the sense of not having today's crap) of our parents and grandparents we were on borrowed time all along.
