Definitely one of the most tragic story ever made. He was a slave his whole life: slave to the hutts when he was young, a slave to the Jedi, then a slave to palpatine. He had 20 years on the good side and 20 years on the bad side. Being a slave to the galaxy. This man truly lived a sad and tragic life. If only people believed in him more would he maybe have turned back earlier. Luke believed in his father and that helped him to let go from his hate and kill the sith. The last few minutes of his life he was no slave to the Jedi and no slave to the sith, he was his own man. This is one of the saddest stories ever. It always makes me cry Also just to point out when yoda said: “ fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering” Episode 1: fear Episode 2: anger Episode 3: hate Darth Vader: suffering So sad

The Son of the Chosen One comes along and doesnt promise him anything, he just wants his father to come back, he wants the good side of Anakin to live again, for the single reason of bringing him back from his torture, he was even ready to die for it. In the end, the Son saved him, broke his chains and set him free from both the jedi and the sith, he was truly free for a few minutes of his life and those minutes were his last. To see darth Vader the cold blooded bad guy is one thing but to see a young hurt lost vulnerable boy with pure intentions get manipulated because of his fear of losing his loved ones is too deep. The older I get the more I really understand anikan a transition to the dark side is heart breaking. There is an arc of Anakin Skywalker; a child born without a father, enslaved, found by a Jedi master who saw promise in a boy without a father. With Qui - gon Jinn, a Jedi who stood outside of the council, being the father Anakin never had. Being killed by Darth Maul, again left Anakin fatherless. Obi Wan, took up the mantle not as a father figure but as a brother. The saving grace for Anakin is the son he never knew. When Luke stands up to the emperor, and says, you are wrong, I am a Jedi like my father before me", and the emperor, hits him with the lightning, Luke saved the father, and the father saved the son, making Anakin the father he never had

There were moments where he did refer to Obi as a father but, when you take a step back and look at them, it is more of a brother relationship. Where Qui Gon would have been that father figure he needed. Qui Gon was a rebel in his own right, he was constantly at odds with The Jedi Council. I believe once he was confident enough in Anakin that he wound not kill anyone, by not being able to control the force, he would have given Anakin alot more leeway. He would have tried to help Anakin with Padme, and I can say without any doubt Anakin wouldn't even dream of talking back to Qui Gon.

Anakin's story is one of the best I've ever heard. a boy who was a slave from when his life began to losing hid mother, being rejected by the Jedi, being accept by the dark side, manipulated, force choke his own love, made the evil and cruel person we know as Darth Vader and most of all still a slave. He was the chosen one to bring balance and peace to the force and in a way that's what he did but his depressing story is just too good. George Lucas is a genius and I hate how so many people don't appreciate it
@mrsl55142 жыл бұрын
I agree that the story line of Anakin is great. However, I think it would have had much more of an impact with better dialogue, a more believable love story, and a more capable actor. We could also argue that the characters desperately needed more depth. Hayden has got the handsome and striking looks down but his delivery was painful. It was very hard to root for him when you were so annoyed because he came across as a crybaby. Glaring only gets you so far. It was made worse with really good actors, Natalie and Ewan, as his costars. Maybe part of the blame goes to Lucas for his bad directing? Carrie said that in "A New Hope" all George ever said was, "Again with more feeling." That is not very helpful if you are a newbie at acting. Anyhow, I digress. This is a fabulous video. I can tell how hard you worked on it. My only complaint is that the music is way too loud, I could just barely make out the dialogue. I'm hearing impaired though so that might make my opinion biased.

Anakin could have been anyone, and it would have been fine, anakin is such a flexible character, his whole nature is being unstable, naive, arrogant and so on... the character usually makes the actor, but in anakin's case, the actor made the character. kinda like johnny depp making jack sparrow. but i 100% agree that the direction and excecution of the story is fucking bullshit. like im actually so pissed that Lucas made such an unbelivably deep and rich story with such bad excecution. disney could do better! excecution let down the whole series. Anakin was a victim of abuse nearly from birth. *He was a slave, he was beaten by Watto from the age of 4, or even younger*. He had to grow up in one of the most dangerous and violent planets in the Galaxy. He almost certainly had PTSD from a young age, and then his mother let him go in the hopes of giving him a better life, but he promised to come back and free her. A sensitive, vulnerable little boy who just wanted to help people. He was all but alone in a strange place, and they put him in the middle of a group of adults he doesn't know, who can apparently read his mind. Who just wanted to interrogate him. What did the Jedi do? Condemned him for having fear. Said he was dangerous for being afraid. *Of course he was afraid. Any 9 year old would be afraid in such a situation* Palmed him off on Qui Gon like an unwanted toy, then basically abandoned when the person who cared for him died. They could have just sent him home if they didn't want him, but no. They left him on Naboo with nobody. No money, no means of getting back. Then put him into the care of a man who didn't want him, who resented him and only took him on out of duty because of his Master's dying wish. The Jedi were neglectful, child abusing scumbags. Now I've got that off my chest, beautiful video.

I feel the Jedi are pretty much responsible for Anakin's turn to the Dark Side. The moment he became a Jedi Padawan, the other Jedi looked down on him with disgust and never accepted him as one of them. Students mocked him for being a slave and bullied him. The Masters treated him with discontent and no trust whatsoever; especially Mace Windu. They never truly cared for him and treated Anakin more like a burden than one of them. They deliberately left him out of several secret plans like the Obi-Wan fake assassination for the reason of him being "reckless" when they know he's had issues losing loved ones in the past. They didn't want to help his mom and left her to suffer. Despite his heroics and actions during the Clone Wars, the Jedi never made him a Master and felt like he was still needing to be controlled and couldn't be trusted. They treated his Padawan like she was already guilty for the sake of public image and didn't fully back away from their mistake (although a few like Plo Kloon did) and made Anakin feel even more frustrated. They brushed all his concerns off and ignored a lot of the warning signs that culminated into the atrocity that is Darth Vader. Yes, Anakin made some bad decisions and Palpatine was a big part too, but ultimately the Jedi are the guilty party for what happened to him. They turned a slave who wanted to help the galaxy and was supposed to be the big hero into a monstrous being of hate and rage, and were slaughtered as a result of their arrogance, blindness, and treatment towards Anakin.

I love Anakin, he’s my favorite in the entire saga. But none of that warranted why he turned or did what he did. The Jedi were not horrible monsters to him, they had antiquated, dated rules but it’s an order and that’s typically how orders are when you pledge to them. The Sith were no different, he wouldn’t have been allowed to be with Padme as a dark lord, Sidious wouldn’t have allowed it because love would have been Vader tapping into the light side. Anakin’s turn is solely because he wanted to keep Padme from dying. Had he been made a Master, had he been allowed to be publicly married, he would have more likely still turned because of the manipulation and lie Palpatine told him that he could save Padme. People have to not blame his turn on really anything other than that. His love for her was so strong and his codependency on her was so strong, he was only going to do all that he could to keep her.

No it really wouldn’t have. Anakin didn’t turn out of any hatred or resentment by the Jedi. Sure Palpatine used their distrust to drive a wedge in Anakin and the Jedi...but Anakin ultimately turned and pledged himself to the dark side to gain the knowledge of saving Padme from death. Palpatine sold him on a lie that only being a Sith could he access those powers. So even if the Jedi trusted him, Anakin would have still had the visions of her death, and that would have still led him to desiring that power to save her.

Episode three was SUCH a rollercoaster of emotions, Padme getting pregneant, order 66, Yoda in exile, Anakin turning into Vader, OBI WAN ALMOST KILLING ANAKIN, and Palpatine revealing his true identity nd colours and manipulating Anakin to do all kinds of things by making Ani feel sad and hateful and angry, just such a rollercoaster I could talk about that episode for hours

I freaking love this Character, all his "mistakes" are so comprehensible. Even though you know they are really bad, you somehow can relate to his emotions and motives! His story is a good reminder that even if you think you are doing the right thing, you still should listen to the people who are close to you. And even after you think you put so much on the line, it is never too late to turn around and do good! Very inspirational :)

The Jedi, and in particular Obi-wan, failed Anakin and caused his downfall. Obi-wan was more or less ignorant about the growing conflict in Anakin and did nothing to help him. Mace Windu could sense a great deal of conflict in Anakin, so why couldn't Obi-wan? And why didn't he do anything about it. I think on Mustafar when Obi-wan says "I have failed you Anakin", this is exactly what he realizes. He wasn't there for Anakin at the time when he needed him the most.

@Theforsakenmedia2 жыл бұрын
He kept the Jedi so wrapped up in the war that every time they got close to figuring out the link between Sidious and Palpatine they would get side tracked and Sidious was masterful at covering his tracks. I wrote a far more in depth analysis on why Sidious was so masterful at being unnoticed and how genuinely from the Jedi's perspective, there were tons of red flags that a very powerful Dark Lord of the Sith was pulling strings and attempting to destroy the republic. However, Palpatine as Supreme Chancellor did not have any red flags at all until he was about to expose his true Sith identity to Anakin.

Great timing of the music at 8:19. You can actually see the moment when Palpatine plants the idea inside Anakin's mind (like an Inception moment when they talk about planting ideas) and the violins start playing as the idea of using the Dark Side to saves his wife starts manifesting in his mind.

Oh my gosh. This was so well done. I wish this showed up in my recommendations sooner but it probably showed up now because I'm watching a lot of Din/Grogu videos. Such a beautiful tribute to such a heartbreaking story. It just goes to show though, Anakin did bring balance. It just wasn't necessarily for the good side. There's the good side and the dark side however most live in between. Anakin lived in between but his fear and loss made him grasp with one hand for those he loved and the other hand kept tugging him away from them. Sooner or later that kind of suffering will make someone do anything to make the pain stop. This video showed that perfectly in Anakin/Darth Vader's story. 😎👍

Simple as that, Anakin needs to feel loved... And that love never last long - to father that he never had, and while he had an instant of this like Qui-Gon - Darth Maul killes him ; mother killed by sand people, and Padme - love that he need to hide before everyone, and in the end lost it because of fear of.. loosing the love

An amazing tribute, edited perfectly. How the vibe is so different with just a change in the music. While Ep. 1-3 didn't enjoy the box office success as Ep. 4-6 did, I've come to appreciate these earlier characters each time I've watched them, taking them in their own right as compelling story telling. While Luke plays a most integral part in his father's reclamation, this saga belongs to Anakin and his tragedy (though Luke's life has tragedy enough, as does Leia's). The Skywalker legacy is fraught with sorrows, struggles, and strikes, but through it all, Anakin was brought back, Luke becomes a Master and Leia becomes a mother of three. Star Wars isn't just about battles in space, but the inner battles we all struggle with in this life.
