Seriously enjoying your driving of all things narrow gauge and industrial...an area oft neglected by train buffs who concentrate on BIG engines, fast engines and mainline trains... Those hunslets are the lowest spec of the 1980's mod narrow gauge! The baguleys are bigger but still crude. The RAF Barclays ( the last narrow gauge loco s that the mod used) have every extra on the option list. Air operated sanding gear with built in sand dryers. Independent mounted cab. A vortex exhaust system so no heat leaves the system. Electronic operated 2 speed gear box. And that's just the start of the features! PS all five are currently at the bredgar and wormshill.

Such a beautiful engine, but it seems the boiler and firebox need serious work they can't handle, plus they're made of copper. Here in the states, licenses for big copper boiler work are minimal, if they exist at all. The inspector didn't even know where to begin.
