This series saved me in very difficult moments in my life, everyone did, but especially "Matthew Perry", he was my favorite character and always made me laugh and cry with joy. Mathew Perry was so much more than just his character in “Friends” . Whilst he was an astonishingly good actor capable of lightening lives with his ability delivery of wit and humour , he was a very intelligent and thinking man . He was a troubled man , afflicted by the sort of questioning mind which never switches off. He sought to self medicate , to find some ease and relief but it developed into a pernicious addiction. I am certain of two things …..it will be proven , by the necessity of a ghastly autopsy , that he died from natural causes , he had medical episode , rendering him unconscious and thence the drowning . But that can only be established by the ME and water in the lungs . The second and most important thing , that through the laughter he created , the pleasure in watching him in other roles and all that this decent , honourable , loyal and honest man , did for others , will and should be his legacy . He is one of the modern Greats by dint of his success but also by dint of his character and personality . He fought a valiant fight against addiction and all that which ailed him - his fears and he did it with dignity . And he put that towards helping others in the most honourable and magnificent , selfless way - knowing that he may not be perfect himself. The poor dear man , his tired body must have failed him. But I repeat , he was not just some “ flavour” of the time , only courtesy of his wit and humour , he was a truly exceptional man in his own right. Furthermore, he was so grateful for his Fans , always mystified as to why he had any but absolutely loathed the Hollywood commercial fame thing which only added to his anxiety . And it utterly sickens me to see people the likes of Paltrow rushing to proclaim the pain of loss before his family and true friends can get their shoes on.

If his family was so caring, they would not have placed him on a plane to shuttle between his parents at such a young age. To selfishly pursue their "dreams." You don't do that at the expense of your kid. He said he always felt a void from that. Agree or not, addiction is caused by childhood trauma.

My son called me and told me that he had passed. I cried loved him in friends, loved his honesty He tried to help people with addiction. And he had been sober for years unimaginable heartbreak. We love you, Matthew, rest in peace. You are in paradise with God blessings to your family and loved ones. So sorry for your loss, we will never forget you. You will be in our hearts forever. My late father was not the type to watch a show like "Friends," but he didn't miss an episode, during the regular season or in syndication, because of the "Chandler Bing" character. Every time Matthew Perry appeared on screen, Dad would laugh, look at my Mom and say "this guy is great, this guy is great." Of course, when we learned that Mr. Perry was Keith Morrison's stepson, this made him even more special to us, since Keith is our all time favorite. We are so very sorry for the family's loss.

He said on an interview that he doesn’t want to be remembered just for friends but for helping other addicts. Yes maybe if that jet ski accident never did happen, he may not have spent the next couple decades struggling however he would not be the strong, brave, open man we know and love. he really was one of the best characters on friends, because of his wit and humor and persona he just had that that it factor that that energy like somebody that you would know Nextdoor or went to school with you know, and he actually was an amazing actor outside of friends. It’s really cool that he got to explore that and have success and other projects what’s really unfortunate it is that he struggled with, whatever internal demons, you know from his past emotionally and psychologically, and so many do things that mask and cover whether it’s into relations drugs alcohol, you know and this is to be human this is not a judgment that I say this seems like a really he was kindred spirit and who wanted to connect and to make other people happy it’s kind like Robin Williams you know, but I think this is human nature for many folks that are tortured inside usually from trauma caused by other sources when their kids growing up there of And in the combination of them, just being a positive source of goodness and kindness by nature along with their trauma and they end up wanting to just please and make other people happy it’s this metamorphosis kind of subconscious thing I can relate although I’m not funny and famous as Matthew Perry was but it’s a bummer that he was tortured and he never got to have kids and he always said he wanted to have kids he would’ve been. He would’ve made an amazing father surreal tragedy. Bummer. Taken way too young you know it should be a celebration of his life, and what he stood for, and what he represented, and all the great stuff that he did, and the positive impact that he had on peoples lives through his acting in various projects, but also his personal life, you know, for several causes nonprofits, and just in general and life, and let that be motivation and leverage and caused to try to be the best version of ourselves, and you know seek help and stay away from the bad stuff it’s easier said than done sometimes obviously yourself with positive people that really care about you as a person and are genuine and authentic and will help lift you up and in your cause and rest in peace Matthew Perry you definitely seem like somebody would’ve been a cool dude to hang out with and know as a human being. Hopefully if you’re up there with a God and you’re making them laugh up there and you’re connecting and no longer feeling the trauma and the pain that that you carried for so many decades 🙏

Yes it's sad when someone famous does but, people need to stop caring more about these stars more than the people around them. These actors are not gods. And actor dies and then all of a sudden life as we know is over 🤣. I have witnessed people die while saving others and nobody cares except a miniscule amount of people. Paramedics save people every day and they are worthless compared to rich people. Firefighters save as well and risk their lives for others but people just forget them.
