Originally released as a Van Beuren "Aesop's Fable" in September 1931. Directed by John Foster & Mannie Davis {who'd return to the Paul Terry studio by the end of the decade}. Music by Gene Rodemich.

I don’t find anthropomorphic FOOD cute at all; I never did. Do you know that everything we eat is dead? It’d be cruel to eat any feeling creature that was alive. If food were alive, eating would make me feel guilty, and I’d starve to death.

Why does the title of the video say "The Family Shoe" while the beginning says "The Golden Goose"?

Because this short is by Van Beuren, but Official Films re-edited this episode and renamed it "The Golden Goose", and make no mistake this is not a short "Jungle Jinks" it's a Aesop's Fables short, sometimes Official Films also changes the name of the series.
