I’m so glad you show how important it is to mix, mix, mix, and mix more! On most cooking shows when they make meatloaf, meatballs, or other similar types of food, the person doesn’t do nearly enough mixing, and I think, “Oh, no! Those spices are not mixed well. Some are going to have zero salt or other ingredients.” Bravo!

I am a chef, and I am also a Bulgarian. And believe me, when I say, she nailed it! But a disclaimer, most of the Balkan countries are with similar food tastes with differences so small that you have to visit the specific region to notice. Like for instance, Bulgarians do Bean stew, while in the Romanian kitchen is prepared more like a broth. Balkan cuisine has been influenced by many cultures, nations, religions, and generations of dedicated heartwarming householders, and the transition into a worldwide business is still happening and it is a fine line to tap into if you have the patience and the creativity to make the dishes a little more 5 stars like! Eyes buy, mouth only enjoys the purchase! Extremely nice video I will share it with customers who would like to prepare "Kufteta" themselves!

Hi Sophia! This is closer to what I'm using but the price is quite high: amzn.to/2D7MtRP If you want, send me your address and I'll buy it from the Bulgarian store here in Arizona and send it to you. I think it's only 60 cents here. My email address is healthymeTV7@gmail.com Or, you can just buy all the spices and mix them yourself if you want. I would say equal amount of everything but the salt. And you don't even need to add the salt. Let me know and I will be happy to buy some for you next time I go down to South Phoenix where the store is.

@@AnOldSchoolHome they mix the pork with beef , many of the spices i do not remember... was a long time ago. Also, they only use broiler or charcoal, never fried... This is what i remember. They were from bulgaria.
@AnOldSchoolHome3 жыл бұрын
Yes, if the meatballs are gonna be grilled, the ground beef has to be added because the ground pork is too fatty. Savory is pretty much a must in all types of meatballs. Anyway, if you ever meet a Bulgarian again, make sure to ask them about the Bulgarian fried meatballs - they are really good. When my mom doesn’t want to stink up the house, she uses the oven broiler, but I like them fried so much better. Thank you for getting back!!
@ivanpetrov51852 жыл бұрын
@@carlosqueiroz270 That's what I thought! In Bulgaria you could fry the meatballs, but nobody does that. We either grill them or bake them in the oven.
