Theres an emphasis on the family, which is what the Fantastic Four is all about, along with action, exploration and heart! It’s the greatest approach to take. Sue is THE focal point of this teaser. I can’t wait!!!

When I saw how well cgi looked with the Thing I couldn’t help but smile. He looks exactly like how Kirby drew him and I can’t wait to see more of him in the movie. Also couldn’t help but tear up a bit as my Dad was a big FF fan and was really looking forward to this movie but sadly passed away last November. We had seen every MCU movie on opening night together all the way from the first Iron Man movie. I can’t wait for this movie to come out and will be seeing it opening night in remembrance of him.

This is what trailers are supposed to be. They are supposed to give you a Vibe and a feel for what the movie is going to be without giving away. Any actual details. My conspiracy theory is that, after Secret Wars, this F4 universe is going to become the main verse, and we’re gonna basically soft reboot the MCU from there. I also think that this is just a universe where the 50’s aesthetic never died out, and not literally the 1950s. Kind of like the Fallout universe. Okay, I’ll take off my tinfoil hat now.

I like that setting them in their own universe frees up the world to fit them , we can see it built up from scratch to really sell the classic F4 tone. When they cross over to the MCU it could be like culture shock, instead of trying to fit into their idyllic world, they’re the most bright hopeful part of a crazy messy universe. I’ve been saying for YEARS that the perfect way to introduce the Fantastic Four and the X-Men was to have them get folded into the main universe from alternate universes set in iconic time periods (FF - 60’s, and XM - 80’s) to give the fish out of water charm that cap had early on, and to give us the iconic fashion, speech habits, and original alt universe tech

The only critique I have is that I feel Ben's voice should be a bit lower, but maybe I just need time because he looks absolutely perfect, and I kind of want the voice to match his appearance just that little bit more. I saw some complaints that we never see Reed's powers, but maybe it was all hands on deck for the teaser to have The Thing perfect as well as the other shots with the necessary CGI, but I honestly didn't notice because everything was so good. Maybe that's a plot point, but we'll just have to wait and see. I do kind of wish that this was just the main MCU back in the 60s and they get time displaced and there's no safe way to return them home, but we have Endgame using time travel and it seems to work just fine, so it makes sense why they went for the alternate universe, and that alternate universe looks like a lot of fun. I like your commentary on what this movie may be doing as well, giving that duality, well said. I do wish Tiffany was here for the reaction though. Maybe we'll get a second reaction with her because while it's always great to hear your thoughts, it's always better to have someone else to bounce off of, and she's also great with her critiques and commentary. I'm definitely excited for this movie, now we just have to wait those long months that will surely fly by too fast, and yet feel like they take forever to get through.

Totally agree on this being a vibe check, set design audio design, and special effects were all showcased. Thankfully we got to see Sue and Ben to solidify that family dynamic. Would have loved more from the other members but, I guess the earlier MCU cameos of multiverse Reed & Johnny gave Ben & Sue priority.

I love the trailer. I love that it’s retro futuristic and in its own world. I think this perfectly represents the FF even though we are so used to seeing them in normal New York and out of space adventures. This just really works for me and is everything I wanted an FF movie to be. A lot of it felt in camera and practical and it genuinely looked really beautiful and not the grey-ish feel of other MCU projects. This feels like a Phase 1 movie in the sense of it feeling so distant in its own world and time through its visuals and tone. No Doom (yet) which is good. I still have optimistic hope for Downey as Doom (who will be incredible acting wise of course). I just hope they get Doom’s story in Doomsday and that relationship with him and Reed. Tell the flashbacks without the mask so we get Downey doing his thing but present day Doom needs to be fully masked. It’s a key part to the character (as well as being Romani but they weren’t fussed about that for some reason) I’m excited for this film and it should be the film that gets me back into Marvel ever since I kind of faded away after GOTG Vol.3 which is a shame because I love reading the comics and the stories.

I thought it was obvious that galactus was actually going to eat their planet and the fantastic four were going to be the only survivors. They’d probably escape through the negative zone and the negative zone could be connected to every universe. Once they reemerge, an alternate silver surfer warns the avengers/fantastic four and tells them galactus is coming. This time reed gets ready and builds the ultimate nullifier.

I’m gonna stand by where about to say. This fantastic four for does not have to be from an alternate universe. This could be done where Captain America came first in the 40’s of World War One. The Red Skull was in control of technology that wasn’t realistic at that time but the first avenger made it work. Howard Stark was the futurist of that time. Next could have been FF, who originally own which looks to be Stark Tower. Reed Richards could have worked with Howard in the future foundation. Something goes sideways (Galactus or Doctor Doom), FF gets trapped in the negative zone are the quantum realm. This birth shield and they have to keep things under wraps. This doesn’t have to be a Multiverse of story.

As annoying as all the teasers for the teasers for the livestream for the teaser is, im glad they’re making an effort to really hype this and give it some gravitas. It feels like something new and unique, where it seems like they’re treating Captain America like a formality they have to get through at this point.

The retrofuturism is something i was 50/50 on, and I'm now far, far more invested after seeing it in motion. Seperates it from the other ones, and it fits the F4 perfectly. Hopefully we see more unique styles in other movies going forward and we leave the generic, made by committe, style behind
