There's an old military saying that no battle plan survives contact with the enemy. Your real world issues are a perfect metaphor for the author and heroine not getting on with each other. (Having dabbled in writing I can empathize with discovering your characters altering the story and the plot.)

This should be a movie kind of in the style of the Princess Bride except the interruptions cut to these two. Also the characters should react to the discussion. Like when they cut back to the story Rosamund and Leo should be like sitting on the ground looking bored then jumping back into character when they realize the story is on them again. Also I'm really hoping that there's a fight scene where Rosamund starts schooling the author about how to construct a fight scene to tell a story and build characters.

Fun fact: Captain Collins' interactions with the Writer are VERY similar. Writer: "You hear her screaming from a nightmare and you immediately go over to soothe her because you just cannot stand to hear a woman in distress withou-" Collins: "I ignore her screaming and go back to sleep." Writer: "But her screaming keeps you up." Collins: "I'm a captain, I think I can sleep through her screaming." Writer: "Not this screaming. It's loud." Collins: "And it won't stop until I comfort her." Writer (smiles): "Correct." Collins: "I hate you." Later... Collins and Rosamond bond over how much they cannot stand the Writer... which results in them falling in love.
