He is truly an inspiration. You also got to wonder, if such stacked, amazing animators working on One Piece right now aren't the big reason why many of these guys just keep getting better and better? In a sort of battle shonen manga rivalry fashion, unironically. They want to keep up with everyone, and keep trying to one up their own previous best scenes, as well as just compete. That's my headcanon.

This guy is an absolute legend! Seeing his animations in One Piece is what made me start looking into individual animators. I 100% agree with you that the team attack by Luffy and Yamato against Kaido has got to be the best animation that a human being has created so far in the history of animation. There is just nothing else like it. His work on Sanji vs Queen was S+ tier as well. Along with every other Wano piece he has created. Luffys gear 5th "beat loudly, heartbeat" alongside Shinya Ohira was beautiful, it makes me so excited to see what he will do next. Great breakdown, great content!

I'm just watching these episodes and I always notice that some scenes have pretty dynamic animation style, I mean the lines aren't straight and still, they're wavey and move and differ in thickness. And I'm alway thinking "Dude they're just talking, why does it have to look so damn good." But I'm not complaining lol :D Thanks for these OP videos. It is very informative!

Lol right? There's a scene of kaidos henchmen yelling (I think at Kid? Don't remember exactly) and I had that same thought, like "dude, they are just talking, you don't gotta go that hard!" Haha! So fuckin good tho! Dude is single handedly raising the bar for modern animation. I'd love to see some of these OP animators team up with the JJK crew.

Dressrosa isnt even remotely close to one of the most hated arcs. Its one of the favorites amongst fans aside from when the pacing stalls at a point. Even the final fight is iconic amongst fans. Where did that info come from😂

I wish I liked this animation style because a lot of people seem really excited by it. I just don’t like the way it looks, which kind of ruins the current big moments for me. I think it’s the excess, as I didn’t notice it much in World Trigger. Maybe it will evolve into something I enjoy a bit more, but right now it’s not doing it for me. Still excited for the Wano arc to finally end lol

While his animation is no doubt absolutely outstanding, I feel like a good animator should still try to fit the art style of the series overall and so for One Piece specifically, I prefer his tamed style like in Stampede. It definitely pulls me out a bit when the art style change is too drastic mid episode.

That's what makes it special, would be very boring for every animator to follow the same style and it would restrict their talent, he never stood out in stampede like now, even some of the biggest names in the industry are praising him for his Wano work

I'm in the minority I guess but I don't like the look of his work too much. The first scene he did that I recognized (in that style) stuck out like a sore thumb with with the triceratops guy fighting Franky. After that I figured okay they want to animate dinosaurs like like that, okay fine no big deal. But now it's pretty much in every episode in scenes that don't really need it like the end of 1089. I think it's fine for really important impactful scenes but not at the frequent pace of them doing it currently IMO. It takes me out of the show/story.
