From my knowledge, this was actually a “last minute decision”, this is why the announcement happened late in the game, which is unlike CF since they’ve never announced anything this late as this is widely considered more like to SF behavior. It was the cancelled Energylandia tilt coaster SFMX was supposed to get next year. Permitting issues is what led to those plans falling through in which therefore it was sent to CP. Speaking of permitting issues, that led to SFOG having to push back GA Surfer’s opening to next year.

i think energylandia was using government money for the project and maybe got backlash and denied. and sfmx was not allowed to cut down trees for the project. Ill ttake it!!!

I lived in Taiwan for a year and had the chance to ride Gravity Max ~20 times or so. Out of the 300+ coasters I've had the chance to ride, no coaster **scared** me more than Gravity Max. That feeling of being locked in on a tilt is unlike anything I've ever experienced and the GP and enthusiasts are going to eat this up!

I rode Lech Coaster at Legendia this year, and i can say that those vekoma vests are my favorite type of thrill coaster vest restraint! Sure, not having any vest at all would be better, but the vests flexed so well during airtime moments, and it was an awesome, intense, and whippy ride! So that gives me hope for Siren's Curse.

It's 1000% a marketing play to help counteract the negative press/online chatter about TT2. Also absolves them of needing to get TT2 up and running smoothly in 2025. I anticipate TT2 will take years to get up to par with expectations or torn down.

I’m mixed, but overall excited for this. It seems like it definitely is Energylandia’s/SF Mexico’s, so it’s weird seeing Cedar Point get a coaster that wasn’t designed specifically for them… I don’t even know the last time CP added anything but a fully custom coaster. It’s interesting the two coasters that hang you over their vertical drops will be right next to each other. But at the end of the day it looks to be a fantastic ride. I’m sure it will be a great addition, and does add a modern steel looping coaster to the mix, plus that tilt track. Overall, I’m excited, but curious to see how everything turns out with this, TT2, and the other two parks who initially would’ve received the this coaster.

Ride has stats that suggest 20ft taller than Mexico. That suggests the underground element won't be there, but rather extend the height by 20. The new speed is guessed at 5.5mph faster, but it could be closer to 7.7mph

This announcement truly shocked me when I saw it. It does make sense if it was a last-minute decision on where to put the coaster that Cedar Point would get it. They had the space for it, and since the dorms were torn out, they would have already surveyed and tested the land. Other CF/SF parks would have to have the land surveyed and tested, which takes some time. If it did happen to go to another park, it would probably open in 2026.

Also, this Tilt combines some elements similar to those on SteVe and Mav into a GP magnet. It'll do great keeping crowds from pooling at the back of the park, so I expect this is why CP was picked. If any park would beat COTAland at opening the first Tilt in the US, it's Cedar Point.

From some digging I did, speculation is tt2 is off center about 2in. There are surveyors all over the ride currently. Also read something about supports of the top hat cracking. Not to mention the issues with the trains. Imo, tt2 is not going to open next year, thus the new tilt.

Even if this is the Energylandia / SFM Tilt, it's a pretty big coaster to add last-minute. Doing the site surveys, re-routing Perimeter Road, installing footers - all of that will need to happen pretty quickly to get this opened by the end of June. Just speculating, but seems reasonable that CP might have been considering a Vekoma launched family coaster on this plot before making the final decision. I wouldn't be surprised if theming is added gradually after opening, like when Jungle X-Pedition opened at KD.

Unless they start pulling the track from SFM and then installing it at CP, then there isn't any confirmation that this is the one originally intended for Energylandia. Others have already said that the stats are different. I agree with a different comment that said it may have been a 2026 project that they were able to move up to 2025 to give guests a new coaster to ride in case they keep having issues with TT2. It's really odd how this came without any leaks or teasers. Usually the cat gets out of the bag somehow before the official announcement. It wasn't always this way. During the coaster wars, things usually never got leaked. I think one of two things happened since then. One is the most obvious answer, that being the internet and social media. Things spread a lot faster than they used to. Once someone cracks the code for a teaser, or leaks planning documents, it gets spread around very fast. Two is that the planning timelines for coasters may have been significantly extended. The longer something is in the works before it is announced, the more time there is for something to leak. It's a lot cheaper to spread the process out over multiple years, and there is less chance for issues and delays. I've heard it takes about 3 years to plan and build a coaster now. In the early 2000s, even the biggest coasters were likely going through the whole process in as little as one year. For example, Kingda Ka was ordered in April 2004, and opened to the public in May 2005. That's a 13 month timeline for the world's tallest coasters. That's really fast.

They first went to Intamin for the Top Thrill Stuff before seeing that the Intamin prototype would keep the launch and Cedar Fair wanted to remove it, and they seem to throw around RMC Son of Beast a lot (with the new poster and crate)

Cedar Fair asked them if they could clear the ground fast for a new coaster and sent xFlight down from Geauga Lake

There is ONE tilt track operating in the US: the one on Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts at Universal Orlando. But it's not a vertical drop and is on a ride that otherwise is barely even a coaster.

They could’ve literally thrown it to any of the smaller coaster starved parks. Or at the very least, Kings Island.

I definitely think it's a leftover, and I kinda wish it went to someone else. Besides the fact that it's kinda redundant in their lineup, it's also gonna have too low of a capacity for a park as big as Cedar Point (theoretically only about 600-700 pph). I feel like this would've made way more sense going to Six Flags Over Texas or Carowinds.

But if they don't have the best and most coasters. You can't call yourself the coaster capital of the world. Change thr name to "we have thar one good coastwr here park"
