I absolutely loved Jam and his garden, I would've loved to be his friend. What a beautiful soul. For those wondering, he lost his battle against the Housing Association and was evicted from his Preston flat and moved to London shortly thereafter. He sadly passed away at the age of 70 from cancer in 2020. If you take anything away from this video, live more like Jam. Bright, courageous, uninhibited and passionate - I'm sure his personality captured here will continue to inspire and endear him to the millions watching this documentary.

That is so tragic to hear Jam was evicted. That HO probably broke his heart. He created an environment that elevated the lives of those around him & evil people had to destroy that. That is so wrong! & very sad😢.

😭😭 I'm heartbroken too hear this. Thank you letting us know. I watched this video and loved his kind, creative nature. All he wanted, after witnessing such horror, is to have a little joy and a place to create a beautiful home. People are so nasty and cruel. Why doesn't the garden shop get destroyed for selling such so called vile statues. There was nothing at all wrong with his beautiful garden, it improved the property and brought joy to a drab and depressing building. I believe we are spirits and souls having a human experience. And now I hope that Jam is finally at peace, on the other side in the most loving, peaceful place. Take care. 🎶💐🙏

Oh no that is just too sad for words. I loved him and his beautiful garden. They literally killed him by taking him away from his beautiful garden. It was bringing him and others in the community joy why remove him so cruelly.

There's an old saying - do as you would be done by. The reason is everything truly is one & connected, so everything we do to someone else we are really doing to ourself. Karma is the cause & effect that any pain we inflict on another we will have to experience at some point in our infinite existence. If this was truly understood people would be a lot nicer to each other!

This should have been titled 'Britains Most Creative' council houses. There should be a whole series of these. Saying they are weird is a bit insulting really. One my good friends growing up lived in a trailer park, and all the trailers were not very well kept, but my friends mom made that place truly into a home. It was so nice inside and out. She’d decorate for each season, and kept it spotless. Unfortunately it was fighting fire with a squirt gun when it came to pests since many of their neighbors weren’t as tidy. But they kept that home immaculate, and truly made it a HOME. Just because you live in counsel housing and or a mobile home doesn’t mean you can’t make it YOUR home, and make it look high standard or to fit what makes you happy.

Good grief! That's Molly Parkin!!! Not just a gorgeous fashion & style icon of the 60/70's but a bit of a badass babe in her time. Women's lives were changing rapidly the music scene and fashions were wildly colourful and she was one of those in front of the charge, loud, bold, and outspoken. Seemingly totally open and holding nothing back. But it was only in her 60s she was able to tell about the horrors she'd left out when talking about her childhood. She's really quite the woman! I'm sorry she lost all she earned with her talents, but so glad to see she's well, happy, and still very much Molly Parkin.

Nothing weird about any of these homes. In fact, they all have the WOW FACTOR. All are artistic & have a fabulous eye for detail. It also shows how much pride they all place in where they live. Love, love, love, every one of them. They can come & do a room in my home anytime. JAM wonderful Garden. Jam should be employed to improve the whole area. Talented Artists are worth their weight in gold. Bless every one of them 😍

A minimalist home is practically empty, nothing to look at, straight up boring, one can regard that as weird. I like the way all of these council homes are decorated, it’s unique & very creative. Everywhere you look something beautiful to look at. The cabinet maker is talented, his work is very detailed. Love it all!

I’d suggest you need to learn the definition of weird. And a minimalist home is certainly not an example of it.

I just got a ton of ideas of what to do with my own home. "I couldn't live in a place I couldn't improve" is a quote from one of the men in this video. I get it. It's like something dies in a finished house that has no potential any more.

I'm so impressed by these ppl and their homes! my favourite was the Iranian gentleman who plants another tree instead of getting mad about red tapers wanting to tear it down. the joy the garden brings is reason enough to just love this guy. My life’s dream is to work as an artist in the most wonderful cluttered, colourful and weird house imaginable, somewhere quiet but not too far from a city. I’m only 16 but I have no interest in doing anything else. This video is a great inspiration and motivator, thank you :) Edit: molly’s work is beautiful (despite the subject haha). She’s such a character, I’d love to meet her.

You have so much joy ahead if you. I wish I had a real passion to chase at your young age. Art is an amazing career that can take you all over the world. I am quite a few years your senior and I'm finally throwing my self in to my Art passion. It is so great for the soul. There's nothing better than finishing a piece and felling proud of your work. Best of luck and happiness to your pursuit.
