When you learn that the whole entertainment industry is just laundering for human trafficking and hidden in plain sight you’ll never hear music the same, watch TV or movies the same, and wear or buy & look at fashion & fashion magazines the same…. It’s wild. It’s not just an issue amongst these industries - it IS these industries. That’s the blueprint of them - trafficking. I strongly believe that.

I once read that the first actors and models were most often pr0stitutes. So, the field was stigmatized initially because it was synonymous with low morals. When it was re-branded as glamorous in the 30-40’s, it became more attractive to average people. But supposedly, it has pretty gritty origins.

I was a young model, age 19-21. Every photographer I met was an ugly man, who honed his trade as a way to meet the prettiest of the pretty, men and women. They wanted to hurt people for rejecting them IRL Agency owners, men and women wanted some of us to attend movie premieres, functions, events with them and would shove us off to rooms to talk to foreign buyers, more short, fat, old, ugly married men. My naivete saved me as I always left quickly cuz I had to catch a bus home alone so couldn't stay late and I never let anyone put their arm around me or accept invites to their hotel parties. My agent (female) called me difficult and stupid and grounded me often. I just left and went into office work which I hated and honestly at that time, late 70s, men in offices were no different. It's not the industry. It's the men.

@@user-bg7hj8ft1j Because they rarely make any money to survive on. They’re over-worked. They might get to keep the clothes (and that’s a strong MAYBE). They have to travel all around and stay available for shows during a very pivotal time for establishing stability via education and employment. So, you’d be sacrificing a lot of time and youth for very little trade off. The skills gained in modeling rarely transfer over into other industries when you get older. The exposure to dr@gs and other vices are also high because of the insane body standards for *both* genders, the creepy ahh photographers that you’re not really supposed to criticize or say no to. Close proximity to people who aren’t nice and don’t want the best for you because they see you as competition. Coping with being disposable and replaceable to literally everyone you work for. I could go on and on. It’s just kinda soul-crushing. 😑

I remember the not-so good ol' days. Brooke Shields was a child in tv commercials talking about how nothing came btwn her and her jeans. Young people were oversexualized and it was disgusting. It wasn't just young women it was young men as well. The Disco era really pushed it into the forefront but it really was always there. Parents were culpable in this and still are. Kris Jenner is a prime example of the "Momager" who exploited her daughters for $, and Brooke Shields mother, who allowed her daughter to be photographed in the nude when she was just 10 years old, was criticized but was never really held accountable, IMO, for the irreparable harm.

I am going gonna say something I know for fact! Do you realize the amount of models and that always at these billionaires and wealthy peoples parties. The modeling agencies have almost like contracts with them, they will let them know the new girl and these wealthy men will look through them like menu on a buffet select them for their pleasure. One famous Arab billionaire had the girls he liked on a 5 year contract to be his woman where he will provide all your needs but you have to be there at his disposal. The modeling world and prostitution is no different at all but there is also a thin line of trafficking. Some will contracted to sleep with them men for 500k, a million depending on their profile and fame. Have you ever noticed how these elites kids never do modeling as career. Yeah enough said. The truth is now coming out.
