This is a very good example of a movie that is so awful that it's fun to watch. Not that it's a comedy or anything but it was so corny that I was laughing all the way through it. Make some popcorn, sit back and enjoy.

Oh lord, that was delightfully awful! Had no idea this existed until it was mentioned on another channel. Great footage of Pebble Beach and the races. I love finding out about filming locations, and surprised that the Saddle Peak Lodge shown at the beginning still exists and in business! It was a location on many other films and television shows. I live nearby, ridden past it many times...will now have to stop and check it out.

So bad it's good. Lots of Jaguar XK120,, Nash, Allard J2, MG TF, Aston Martin DB2, Devin and a bunch of others. The play by play coverage from the grandstand is a joke, John Ireland is a handsome fugitive and Dorothy Malone is a babe.

Pas le premier film à porter ce titre, avant la saga "familiale" friquée du trust Diesel... Mais ce film de 1954, production de Roger Corman et rare réalisation de l'acteur John Ireland, pouvait aussi bien être le modèle original du premier film de la franchise. Ireland, aussi comédien principal, y a les mêmes airs bourrus que le Vin Diesel adoré d'avant, en quête de liberté et ne faisant pas confiance en la justice américaine. Et question blondeur tenace, en lieu et place de Paul Walker, on a la formidable Dorothy Malone. Corman oblige, ça coûte pas grand chose, intercalant des scènes d'enquêtes facultatives, utilisant des images d'un rally automobile et construisant un climax tout autour... De la bonne série B, complètement autocontenue.
