Great video Steve ! Best test all options when you have grid power . Some great stuff you got ! I have done many RV installs , Them 12/24 USB ports get put in a lot. some RV have them Many not USB C PD . I do a lot of them USB C PD 65 watt ones. 200 to 400 watt solar is a common install. Now I got some extra battery boxes for 1 and 2 GC2 lead batteries. from lead to LiFePO4 conversions. Them usually 24/27/29/31 group size. The big 300AH ones are 4DLT or 4D size. I have 12V coffee maker and a tool battery one that uses 20V DeWalt batteries. I am covered . Them Power Station's are common for tent campers as well.

Hi, FYI, the small, 5-cup Mr. Coffee machines only pull a bit over 600 Watts to brew a pot of coffee. It's our Go-To when camping/boondocking. Also, I like to use my JetBoil, also, when I just want one cup.

Useful practical testing, thanks. Interesting that the two 200W solar panels seemed to give a much lower output compared to the single fold out 400W panel.

They sure did - its the design of the panels - different purposes yield different results at the hot-end. The more rigid panel might have had a better overall sun angle also. Would need a better test rigging to really compare "apples to apples" though.

Percolating coffee on propane stoves is my choice, a good thermos and a CAHR mug saves a lot of energy

It sure does... in the desert we'll use propane to heat the coffee, but there's very little video fodder in that :-D

Morning Steve. I can see how you can run the AC but what about the starting surge? How about that archaic way of making coffee on the stove? Great videos as always lots of Knowledge put out. Jim

They have soft-starts for the AC units, but I'd rather be in cooler weather than be running AC all day. This thing really needs a mini-split instead of the noise maker.

8.5 hours on that battery is excellent longevity for day one. Maybe have a tiny gas generator to charge the battery?

I'm currently storing my gas generator at Harbor Freight ;-) I can "weather the storm" with what I'm carrying... or I can hitch up and head for greener pastures.

Info overload, watched twice and gonna watch a few more times. I'm surprised your rv 12v runs without the house battery connected. Many won't run just off the converter. Looking forward to the panel mounting video. I have a single 165w and want to upgrade to a single 400w (so I don't have to drill into the roof), but I don't think the factory solar wiring can handle it, so 2-200@24v maybe? PS: mc-4 tool out of stock
