After the first FnF, all movies completely lost touch with reality. Tokyo was an attempt to rekindle that realism, but DK was so unbelievably corny, it made no difference. The FnF was without question the best and most iconic film in the franchise and every movie since (besides Tokyo) has been nothing but one upmanship and it’s sad. By the time we saw Shaw, the movies were so unbelievable and ridiculous they don’t even count in my mind. They were simply milking the series to put out action films and bank on the nostalgia of an entire generation.

When I was young I didn’t necessarily understand the context or meaning of this scene but looking back now. It would seem that this guy Ted stole Johnny’s Engines that he aimed to make a profit as they would come with a moneymaking price tag right before the race wars. Johnny displayed some very psychopathic behavior which then leads Brian to believe that Johnny could be the guy stealing DVD players from the trucks. Just some food for thought for the context of the scene, wasn’t even born when this film came out so it’s nice to look back and understand it better.

He wanted to extract revenge on Dom for their business deal that went sour, and for the mistake Dom made sleeping with Johnny's sister. Then Johnny's sister will appear, and it will be revealed that she had a love child with Dom. Then Jesse's dad who was in Jail in FF1 will be released from Prison and Join Dom's crew.
