I think this will be the future for car motors. I have been following it on facebook for many months and I have seen it go in mud, snow, rain, water, rocks, sand, you name it they tested it . This is the future I would bet on it. I also saw this motor installed on a Go Cart , man if a little motor like that can make the go cart move at 40 kph with a 150 lbs person on it, I can see it making the 1/5 RC car fly.

Funny how they fail to mention the side torque on the motor bearings. I thought of this years ago and found it to be a failing idea due to the amount of debris encountered within the wheel area and the amount of torque the bearing will go through when taking corners. There is a reason why they use in-runner motors on surface vehicles. All i see is a lot of people replacing motors at an alarming rate. Just like the 3D TV, this will only be a fad and will fade away within a few years. (RC'ing for 30+ years)
@choke6664 жыл бұрын
RIGHT YOU WERE LOL! ALL VERY GOOD POINTS.
@ModitRC8 жыл бұрын
that was more like 50kmh. For the people saying the bearings are issue, this is not true. All wheels have bearings behind them. The problem here would be rocks getting into the open outrunner design breaking and dislodging magnets. Should have used a sealed motor design to keep debri out, and massive water proof bearings.

Probably needs to be design to be completely enclosed. Great idea not needing transmissions etc but I think the unsprung weight might be an issue.
@gert36749 жыл бұрын
Very, very nice. Have a few questions: 1. How does it cope with dirt, stones, water, mud, etc? I imagine dirt getting between the magnets and the windings wouldn't be good? 2. What do the motors weigh? Do you notice a big difference in handling because of the added unsprung mass? Maybe it would make sense to make the motors so that no rims/axles/hexes are needed and the tires mount directly onto the motors to save some weight? 3. What ESCs do you use, is there some kind of traction control? I guess using two standard ESCs will feel like a completely locked rear diff when driving? 4. Do you have plans to offer different sizes and kv-ratings for other applications? I'd be interested in motors that fit in 1/5th scale touring car tires.
@jop66639 жыл бұрын
+Jo P Having tow motors allows for better handling, and as for the weight , it is less than the weight that is removed from the car when you install them, you remover the gas motor, the gas tank, mufflers and all the other parts in a few testings we did we added more weight to the cars

this can be done actually in a different manner and it would work flawlessly.. The wheels have to be O rings and having a calliper that surrounds a segment of the wheel fixed with it's own miny transmission and brushless motors making the O ring wheels spins as fast a spur gear. (i would use low kv motors for this. because it's like running on the spur gear. LOL.

I think this is like the 100th video on here claiming the "world's fastest RC car" no matter what the scale size is. According to the Guinness World Records the fastest RC car record is/was 177mph and that was set back in 2014. The same guy also ran that car at 196.21 again in 2014. I have no doubt that has since been broken and wouldn't be to hard to do, if you can get a Ducted Fan jet to fly 200+ mph then with the right gearing a 12s or 14s electric RC car can do it. For those that don't know the conversion 200 km/h is only 124.274 mph.
