I was lucky to get a G14 4080 the 1 day it was available, and I like it. QHD+ Games are running at 5-8% less fps than the 4090 numbers I've seen in reviews and it's $800 less, much much faster than 4070 numbers. I think that's the sweet spot in terms of GPUs this generation, and I'm not surprised that Nvidia and the manufacturers did send only 4070 and 4090 to reviewers so nobody knows how much of a better deal is the 4080. If you want to play 1080p I think the 4060 with a decent TGP is the best deal.

You have a misunderstanding in regards to this generation's dynamic boost . The problem is that virtually there will be zero conditions in which either the 4070 class and below line of laptops will be able to power up to 140 watts of their advertised TDP in games. Nvidia has place a voltage limit at the curve in which the diminishing returns of performance per watt are at a set point. Dynamic boost has always worked the same way; you will always see a wattage of above 115 watts in games but if you are GPU bound, then you would be granted 140 watts. The controversy is that this is literally impossible to happen for the 4070 and below line of GPUs.

I don't mind the weight (the materials will make it heavy, and it's better than a lighter but plastic chassis). I'm glad the display is 16:10 and also that it's offered with AMD processors. I also don't mind being capped at the 4070, and the price to go from 16gb to 32gb of RAM is very reasonable. USB 4 is also very welcomed and the fact that both usb c ports are the 4 spec is excellent. It's just, we've been complaining about this keyboard for awhile now. There's no excuse not to improve it after all this time. At the price, we shouldn't have to settle for anything subpar, and the fact is that Razer's keyboards are subpar.

The biggest issue is that the $1700 G14 basically does the same thing, while $2500 gets you the 4080 G14 that smokes the Blade 14. The higher model G14's also offer a superior mini-led panel. I love Razer and own a Blade 14 2022, but this pricing is insane. There isn't a single reason you should buy the Blade 14 over the G14, normally paying the $200-300 Razer tax was worth the build quality upgrade, but a $800 difference is a joke. At $2700 the Blade 14 is grouped with gaming laptops in an entirely different performance bracket.

No because the 7800X3D cannot beat a 7700X in CSGO despite having way more cache. CS GO depends solely on clock speed and the 7940HS has a 5.2Ghz single core boost which the blade 14 was probably unable to hit in that particular bench.
@crearg8259 Жыл бұрын
@@DeepteshLovesTECH Wait, I'm confused. If 7940HS cannot beat 6900HX, while the new model provides better thermal performance, and it's not the cache issue (HX to HS), then what did Ryzen improve this year?

Am I the only one who would rather have a 165hz screen and/or a ryzen 7 instead of only 1tb of ssd? I just fail to see how is that enough in 2023 when 10 4k videos practically fill it up. 2tb should be minimum with a 4tb option. We buying these laptops for editing in mind aren't we? Some don't care about carrying a dongle for storage but they break, get lost, unplug, and they're far slower.

Amazing video as usual tho. I'm quick to complain but fail to complement your great job as usual ❤
@Havanu81 Жыл бұрын
Just swap it to whatever you want. I'd rather not overpay for a part that can be easily changed after purchase. Same with RAM, if I can switch it post purchase, I'll buy it with the lowest amount available. But a cpu and screen? Those last until the laptop retires.
@JoselitoBurrito Жыл бұрын
@@Havanu81he difference between 165hz to 240hz is minimal to unnoticeable. Same goes for a R7 to a R9. Double the ssd space is extremely noticeable and will make a laptop last much longer than a 5% faster screen/cpu. I'm sure nobody complains about having 16gb of RAM and a 2k display instead of a 4k display and 8gb on a laptop.
For the battery life, why does Razer rate 2022 11 hours but 2023 10 hours…while the result in the video says 2023 10 hours(ok) but 2022 8 hours(what?)?

It is weird as some reviewers have been saying that this year Razer's battery life is nowhere near as good as this review?
@crearg8259 Жыл бұрын
@@andyH_England i think we can change it from “some reviewers” to “almost every other reviewer”…So far this is the only reviewer that says the battery life is improved (others even say the new generations (G14 & RB14) are debuffed in terms of battery life
@MyronZhao Жыл бұрын
@@crearg8259 yea all other reviewers got half of what he got. Around 5-6 hours max.

you need to optimize to get more battery life, one easy way is decreasing max processor state to cripple cpu power, you could get 15 hours if you wanted.

Isn’t that the obvious choice in general since it’s a higher chance that last year’s is most likely on sale

Yeah but with zero chance to go from 16gb to 32gb or more in RAM. Absolutely no chance for me to even think about the older model. On to next year I guess lol

... no, absolutely not ! I mean, don't spare them, and be hard on them ! Such a pricey laptop MUST be compared to the Macbook industry standard ! And if the webcam on this laptop is like crap, then you should say, that it is crap compared to the Macbook. The same goes for the speakers. IT IS CRAP, right? when compared to the sound coming out of all the Macbooks. It has "the same" price tag the Macbooks have - yet, it is pretty far from their quality level. ... RAZER needs to hear this. Perhaps then and only then, something is going to happen with their scandalously overpriced products, their mediocre quality, and the tragic customer support which is underlining all of it. You know, once I was a passionate customer of Razer, while now I'm falling into the group of former Razer customers ... ... after that tragic 2022 Razer Blade 14, I was awaiting this year's model with great expectations. ... I have need of a small, portable, yet highly performing 14 inch laptop now. I checked the Razer Blade 14 reviews and because of what I've heard, I also decided to check the other brands. And after my thorough market analysis, I came to that decision to get the Zenbook 14 Pro and you may be asking why : well, because it is simply a better product. ... in my own personal head to head comparison, there are 9 pros and 9 cons for the Razer Blade 14, while there are 12 pros and 6 cons for the Zenbook.
