Kerr was simply not. He has been proven to use illicit substances such as fentanyl, giving him an exceeding advantage. The fact that Yared was within half a second is more impressive as he was not dooted on the zoot like Kerr. Kerr should be relegated and forgotten and Yared is the HOFer.

Glad you mentioned Nuguse's finish. Watching the race live I felt that he was caught 'flat footed' 3/4 through the race but finished as strongly as Kerr (like Ovett's defeat of Coe in the 1980 Olympic 800m final). I think he may be a dark horse for Paris as I have a feeling the 1500m final may be very tactical.

I never thought I'd say it but I think Kerr has to be favourite in the 1500 this Olympic year. No idea what condition Jakob will be in, but it's hard to see him matching the closing power of an in-form Kerr. I hope it will be a race for the ages but much will depend on how fit Ingebrigtsen can get by then. Some of these other athletes could make it fascinating to watch too (Nuguse et al.) Can't wait!

Ingebrigsten's only shot of beating Kerr is to run the finish out of him. But it's not like Kerr didn't beat him in a fast race when he ran 3:29. Kerr might even be able to run faster than ingebrigsten over the 1500m at this stage. It's such an exciting Olympic event though.

I hope Nordås comes through for outdoors. He’s very funny in his Norwegian interviews. Not deliberately funny, just ridiculously open with what he says. He’s not as confident or experienced as Jakob. And of course one wonders a bit about doping with all these guys but especially when they have a super fast progression, but with Nordås there are at least some other factors that can explain it.

After a race in a relatively moderate pace one can run a fast finish. After a near world record pace the final kick is slower. That is natural. Great race by Kerr, he found that closing kick speed he had back in college and ramped it up to "international fast." Nuguse had a great race, too, his final 200m must have been very close to that of Kerr's final 200m. I liked Hobb Kessler's run in the 1500m, he just needs to get faster in that last 200m-400m. He lead most of the 1500m here, had a few steps on the field at the bell, but just got outrun by Beamish and Hocker. He mentioned in a post race interview that these indoor races with small tracks and tight turns are getting him used to the bumping and pushing found so often in international races. Might want to keep him in mind for the Paris final (if he makes it through the USA Trials). Great meet with great racing all around 400m - 3000m.

Well Paris will be a feast for you middle distance tragics. There's never been so much talent . But who will be the 'race pace bunny ' ? I suspect McSweyn will go to the front early. The young Turks, Kessler and Myers will be daunted by even being at the Olympics. The freight train runners , Jacob, Kerr, Wightman will amp it with 800 to go. If Beamish can find a way to stay with that group, his new found confidence might surprise again. History travels in rythyms , and all I can tell you my fellow tragics is, 'underestimate a Kiwi at your own peril '. In an Olympic final, race tactics can go out the window at the crack of the starter's pistol. Kerr is very comfortable in his skin at this time... Jacob's a mystery at the moment. Just to line up in the Paris final will be an achievement by itself. " Let the Games begin ".

Video request!!! I haven't seen it out there but woth worthys combine record, got me wondering what the 40 yard time for christian coleman is based on what he has ran on his 60M. Not exact but I'm sure you could figure out how to get super close on it! Would love to see your do your thing on the fastest 40 yard dash ran! (Even if it was apart of a longer race lol)

Some websites have him at 173cm tall, seems like he's taller, or else those ethiopians he was racing are quite short.

Firstly people kept telling Kerr is cocky and Jakob lost because of being VERY (😆) ill during 2023 Worlds and nowadays Kerr outkicked Nuguse and Barega without going 100%. Maybe they do understand Kerr is hard to beat in tactical race.

When I was at my fittest, ( I was never a sprinter ) - I think the fastest straight 100m I ever did was 12.5 seconds. Kerr ran that after he'd already ran 2900m. Even when I'm " touching cloth " , It takes me longer than 12.5 seconds to run down my stairs to the bathroom before I get the " green apple splatters ".

Jakob did a 25.8 last 200m when he ran a 7:23.63 3000m. And that was less than 24 hours after he did at 3:43.73 mile.

Wild to me that Ingebrigtsen's 1500m PB is 3.27.14 And yet his fans claim he ran 3.29.65 ill (despite front-running, slowing down before the line and being in his 3rd 1500m race in 4 days), just to talk down Kerr's World Championship gold.

Kerr's favourite until Jakob does something. Cause if Kerr can run 3.28s and it feels it's trending that way, Jacob can't go quick enough at the Olympics to run his legs off before the final 200m. When nobody is faster than Kerr.

Another great analysis from TRP! I hope J.I. didn't watch this TRP video, because it's got to psych him out. He knows he doesn't have Kerr's finish, so his race tactics have to be perfect to beat Kerr. That said, J.I. has gone 3:27. J.I. has to press early and press really hard, and hope he can hold it an wear down the field so Kerr/Wightman/Beamish - the closers - can't respond. I'm sorry to say, I think J.I, with now TWO injuries and no racing, might be toast for this year. My money is definitely on the Field in Paris. If I have to pick one: Kerr is my pick in a heartbeat. Can't wait!

Guess we all just want to see the best athletes fit and healthy for the Olympics - beamish, nagoose, Kerr, ingerbritsen, nordas (if he gets his tactics right) and even Jake Wightman can all make a super competitive final.
